Hearing this, Yanis turned around and said, "Yes."
Neve stood beside Yanis and looked at her, "When will you divorce?"
Yanis snapped her gaze back to the TV while asking, "Miss Bennett, are you anxious?"
Neve gave a smile. "No, but Zane is, so I want to ask when you are available to sign the papers."
At that, Yanis took the remote control and pressed the pause button before turning to Neve, saying in a soft but distant tone, "Miss Bennett, what did you say? I didn't hear you. Please repeat it!"
Neve looked Yanis in the eyes with a smile. "Miss Thompson, I know you like Zane and do not want to leave him. However, Zane does not like you. You've spent five years trying to win his heart, but you failed. Therefore, Miss Thompson, you should give up. "
Yanis got up and stood up, walked around the couch, and walked up to Neve. "Miss Bennett, you are overthinking it. I did like Zane, but I don't know. So, don't worry, Zane is yours now."
With that, Yanis walked past Neve and headed upstairs.
Only then did Yanis' expression change.
She can be embarrassed and humble in front of Zane, but she didn't want to lose her dignity and self-esteem before Neve.
Yanis went upstairs, only to bump into Zane, who had just got changed.
They both got stunned.
Yanis said, "I spilled water on my clothes from drinking, so I'll change my clothes."
Zane's eyes swept over her and said, "I'll wait for you downstairs."
Yanis nodded and went into the bedroom.
Downstairs, seeing Zane, Neve got up and smiled. "Zane."
Zane said, "When she gets changed, we'll go to the Lawrence's Mansion."
Neve nodded and then asked softly, "Zane, it seems Miss Thompson does not like me."
Zane looked at Neve.
"I was going to say hello to her just now, but she ignored me and went upstairs." Neve's tone was mixed with a bit of grievance.
Zane slightly wrinkled his eyebrows, and his voice was bland. "Don't pay attention to her. She's always like that."
Neve took Zane's arm. "Zane, do you know her well?"
Hearing this, Zane fell into silence.
He really didn't know Yanis at all.
He paid no attention to what she liked, what she didn't like, or some other things.
On the contrary, Yanis knew Zane better than he knew himself.
She knew what he liked, what he disliked, and his every habit.
"Zane?" Neve asked softly when she found Zane's mind was wandering.
Zane roused himself and looked at Neve. "I never bothered to know about her."
This was what Yanis heard when she changed her clothes and got downstairs.
However, she didn't hear it clearly.
Yanis used to pay too much attention to Zane, so she habitually pondered whatever Zane said.
Therefore, she began to wonder what Zane had said.
Neve said, "I thought you should know her a little after these years."
Zane was standing with his back to Yanis, so he didn't notice Yanis coming down the stairs.
"There is no need to waste time to know a woman of no significance."
Hearing this, Yanis froze.
Although she was almost immune to whatever Zane said, she still felt upset.
But fortunately, whatever Yanis heard and however sad she was, she could quickly calm down.
Yanis got downstairs, stopped at the end of the stairs, and looked at Zane and Neve, who were standing in the living room. "I'm ready. Let's go."
Zane frowned subconsciously when he heard this.
He turned around, looking at Yanis, who was standing at the stairway.
Yanis was dressed in a beige dress. The high heels, which shared the same color with her dress, showed her perfect figure.
Somewhat, Zane found Yanis was charming and attractive.
Thus, when seeing Yanis, Zane couldn't help but narrow his eyes.
When Neve noticed the change in Zane's eyes, she took Zane's hand a little harder. "Zane, do I really have to go with you? I'm afraid Grandma will be unhappy if she sees me."
Neve's words attracted Zane's attention. He looked at her and said softly, "No, Grandma will like who I like."
With these words, Zane wrapped his arm around Neve's waist and walked outside.
When passing Yanis, Zane looked at her but said nothing.
Yanis followed behind.
In the past, Yanis always sit in the passenger's seat whenever Zane drove.
But now, Neve was here, so Yanis consciously reached out to open the back seat door.
"Yanis!"
Zane said as Yanis was about to sit in the back seat.
Yanis looked over and asked, "What's wrong?"
"Sit in the passenger's seat."
Yanis subconsciously looked at Neve, who was standing beside Zane.
"Neve was not used to sitting in the front."
Hearing this, Yanis nodded.
She didn't say anything, walked to the passenger seat, opened the door, and sit in it.
Zane then helped Neve sit in the back seat before moving around and sitting in the driver's seat.
The car started when Yanis fastened her seat belt.
"There are many people at the dinner, so you must behave yourself," As the car drove, Zane reminded.
Yanis answered in a soft voice, "Got it."
"Why did you prepare nothing this time?" Zane turned his face to her and asked.
Yanis met his gaze, "Sorry. I thought I didn't need to anymore."
Zane wrinkled his eyebrows after hearing this, saying in a cold voice, "That's true. You don't have to do that anymore."
According to Zane's nonchalant tone, Yanis was just an employee for him. And now, she was useless.
If it were in the past, Yanis might have ignored it. However, she didn't want to bear it this time. She said with a sneer, "Yes, I don't need to do that anymore, but you did shock me, Mr. Lawrence. I didn't expect you to would bring both your wife and lover to the family dinner."
