Chapter 9
Chad's POV:
I got home and met the rest of the boys–including Dean, in the living room talking. The second they saw me they all quietened down and started giving me a knowing look. I tried to shrug it off and go straight to my room, but Nico stopped me. That pervert.
"And where do you think you're going to?"
"My room?"
"Really?" Jayden asked. "So you won't explain what happened today?"
"Is there anything I have to explain to you guys? I thought you've drawn your conclusion."
"Hold up, hold up, hold up." Dean interrupted. "What's going on, what are you guys talking about?" He asked. We all glanced at him, not saying anything.
"So you don't know?" Min ho asked Dean.
"What is it?"
"Well, Chad's got a girl. Name's Lila." Nico spilled. I glared at him. Dean seemed really surprised. Well, who can blame him?
"She's really pretty. With long hair." Jayden continued.
"… And a great dancer, too. She's auditioning for the spot in the beamer girls."
"Chad's got a girl? When?" Then he looked at me. I shrugged.
"She's not my girl. We've barely just met." I replied.
"But you have a crush on her, don't you?" Nico stressed.
"I do not."
"Do you?"
"Do not."
"Do you!"
"Do not!"
"That's enough, guys. Chad's just denying it now. He'll confess eventually." Jayden said, winking at me. I scoffed. Dean didn't seem satisfied.
"When did this all happen?" He asked.
"Well today. If you came to the auditions, you would have seen her. I'm surprised she's not yet popular. She's got talent." Min ho explained.
I know what's Dean is thinking that's making him ask all these questions. How come the rest of the guys found out before him. Well, that's his problem. If he had paid more attention to the rest of us, he'll be the first to know.
"Since you're all done talking, can I go to my room? I need to use the shower." I said and left the place. I have a feeling Dean is going to climb up behind me.

Sure enough he did. After I had finished showering and dressing up, I heard a knock on my door.
"Come in." I called out, not bothering to stand up as I was using my laptop. Dean walked in.
"Hey D. What's up?" I asked, not raising my head up from the laptop.
"Nothing much. So… What the guys were saying, is it true?" He asked as he folded his hands. I sighed.
"Well yeah. I met a girl. Name's Lila. That's all there is to know."
"You're not in any relationship of any…?"
"Nope." I interrupted him. He raised his brows.
"What?" I asked.
"Nothing. Just want you to be careful."
"I am careful." I stressed.
"Okay. I'll leave now. Good night." He said and walked out of the room. I placed my chin on my fingers and closed the laptop. Whatever.

Lila's POV:
I arrived home after my work at Sir Patrick. Standing in front of the door, I sighed before gently knocking. It took a while, but it opened. It was Tessa.
I walked in and met Mrs. Stella at the dining table doing some paperwork. I quickly greeted her and gave her the parcel. She hummed in reply. Then I proceeded into my room where I changed my clothes in readiness for my evening shower. Remembering my experience today at the company, I smiled to myself. I wish it could happen again.
"Hmm, someone seems happy today." Tessa whispered in my ears. Oh… I had even forgotten she was here. Her eyes lit up in expectation.
"So… How did it go?" Tessa asked, whispering. I chuckled quietly.
"Great. Even more than great." I replied.
"Really? Did you get to meet any of the Sparks?" She asked in excitement.
"Well, most of them. Dean wasn't there."
"Ah!" Tessa whispered yelled. I quickly put my fingers in front of my mouth, motioning her to keep quiet. She giggled.
"Anyway I'm happy for you. I just hope you get what you've always wanted." Tessa said after a while.
"Thanks. That's means a lot." I said sincerely.
"No biggie. I've got to go now. It's past my bedtime."
Tessa said and scurried off.
I watched her leave and proceeded to the bathroom to have my bath.

(A week later)
I was busy cleaning the house while Tessa was watching TV. Mrs. Stella had gone to work as usual, and I took a day off from my restaurant job.
"Hey Lila!" Tessa called while I was in the kitchen.
"What?"
"Come over here! There's news about the Beamlights Entertainment." She announced, and I cleaned my hands, hurrying over to the living room.
The reporter in the news spoke:
"The wait for who is going to be the next beamer girl is over as the company will announce soon the girls who made it to the top twenty trainees. So if you among those who tried out last well Friday, hold on to your phones as you expect you confirmation message."
"Did you try out last week Friday?" Tessa asked.
"Yeah." I said.
"Where's your phone?"
"It's in the room. Never mind, I'll go bring it." I said and brought out my phone. There wasn't any message yet.
"You think they'll send me a confirmation message?" I asked Tessa.
"We have got to hope. I'm sure you did your best."
"I think I did. Truth is, there were a lot of girls."
"And am positive you're better than all of them combined."
"You think so?"
"I know so." See muttered, and I smiled. Just as I was about to drop the phone, a message came in. I held my breath. Tessa gave me a 'go on' look. With shaky hands, I clicked on it and read it.
"It's a confirmation message." I whispered. "It's a confirmation message! I've been picked! Oh my gosh, I've been picked!" I said out loud.
"I knew you could do it!"
Tears spilled from the corner of my eyes. I was so happy.
"What does it say?" Tessa asked, still excited.
"Well it says… It's says, whoever has been chosen needs to arrive at the company today or will forfeit their chance to be part of the training session. It means I have to go today."
"What are you waiting for? Go pack your bags and go!" Tessa said.
"Wait! What about you and Mrs. Stella?"
"Oh, don't start with that Lila. You think if mom knew she'll let you go? This is a once in a lifetime opportunity."
I still didn't understand. "What are you saying?"
"It means you have to run away Lila."
What?
