Chapter 39

Lila's POV:

"We don't have to prove Lila is CG's real daughter. We let the fans prove it."

"How?"

"If there's one thing CG focused on beforehand, was having a supportive fan base. That's the key we have to use in unveiling the truth."

"That's true…" Natalie added.

"I don't know guys…" I muttered, apprehensive. "I don't think I can do this. What if more people get hurt? '

"Come on, Lila. We mustn't think that way. On another angle, it might actually work." Natalie said.

"We won't know if we don't try it," Dean added.

"Okay guys… I'll do it. But if someone else gets hurt, we have to stop, okay?"

"Definitely."

"But how are we going to activate that fan base?"

Dean smirked. "Leave that to me," he replied.

***

Few moments later, Dean had uploaded a video online explaining everything but leaving out my identity for a bug reveal later on. Once he was through, he came to meet us in the living room. My mom and Nico were already awake.

"You'll think this will work?" I asked again.

"I hope so. Beamlights Entertainment already posted a news saying Alya was CG's real daughter in other to cover up their tracks. But we know that's not true, so we let the fans air out their views," he replied.

"Oh look, comments are already pouring in. Here are some of them."

'To be honest, I really don't think Alya is CG's real daughter. She looks nothing like him!

'I also don't think Alya is CG's real daughter. Whoever is the real daughter should better be pretty!

'CG himself said in one of his songs that if we found we would know. Alya has been in the spotlight for such a long time and no one had that inkling until Beamlights said it. Isn't something fishy?

"And it goes on and on like that…" Nico finished.

"Wow, it's really working!" I exclaimed.

"I told you it would. People are asking for the real person to come out. We need to make sure the whole world knows," Dean said.

"Great work guys. All we have to do now is sit down and wait for Nikita to freak out, just like I know she will." Natalie said from the phone. I smiled at hearing that.

"Okay everyone. I'll be heading to my room now. Have a goodnight." I said and bade them goodnight.

Getting to my room, I locked the door behind me and laid on the bed, reminiscing on what had happened earlier. I closed my eyes, falling asleep.

(The next day)

Nikita's POV:

"WHAT!?" I screamed, letting the phone fall from my hands, my hands shaking.

"What did I just see?" I asked myself. "The entire world knowing that Alya and Ximena isn't CG's daughter? But I thought I…" My phone rang, interrupting me.

I groaned as I picked it up, hurriedly picking up the call. It was Mason.

"Did you check the news this morning?" He asked, panic clear in his voice.

"Yes, yes I did."

"How did that happen? I thought your plan was foolproof. Now the entire world knows!"

"I thought it was. Darn it! I should've killed all of them when I had the chance," I muttered.

"So, what are we going to do now? Alya is over here, panicking. She's afraid of going out for fear of being bombarded with questions."

"I'll … I'll think of something."

"You'd better… And fast." He said and hung up. I huffed and ran my hands through my hair, ruffling it. I was so confused.

I quickly called Lila, waiting for her to pick up. It rang for some time, but eventually she did.

"Hello," she greeted wearily.

"I thought I told you to drop everything concerning the case of CG! What did you do?!"

"I didn't do anything, the Sparks' did. In case you don't know, they also know that neither Alya nor Ximena isn't CG's real daughter. They are the one you should be attacking."

"I'll give you a benefit of doubt but have it in mind that if what you're saying is wrong, I won't spare you or your mother!" I threatened, even though I wasn't sure of that myself.

"Okay," she replied, and hung up.

I checked the news again and truth be told, they were the ones who uploaded the video, Dean in particular. And with their amazingly strong fan base, Everything could go wrong.

I called up my secretary.

"Yes ma'am," she answered at the first ring.

"Arrange an emergency meeting with the Sparks. I need to see every one of them right now!" I ordered.

"Okay ma'am."

I dropped the phone and paced around the room, restless.

***

Few hours later, the meeting with Sparks was scheduled. They were all here except for Chad, who was in the hospital, and they didn't seem to have any care in the world for what they had done.

"Do you guys realize the gravity of what you've done? The amount of harm you've done to this industry? Do you?"

None of them replied.

"You know, I could totally cancel your contact right now!" I threatened.

Dean glanced at me and smirked.

"Then we'll leave. But have it in mind that when we do, we'll sign to another record label… And since the fans will follow us wherever we go, we'll also be leaving with this company's major source of income. Not to mention the other artists signed under this company. They'll also leave. And then there'll be nothing left. You don't want to that to happen, do you?"

That's when I realized I was fighting a lost battle.

"The truth will come out one day Nikita. You should've known that by now. And with the business that we are in, things will go from bad to worse if you don't immediately admit that you're wrong. So what's your choice? Are you going to say the truth or allow everything you've worked for to go down in ruins?"

And with that, he stood up and, followed by his members, walked out of the office.

I sank into my chair and buried my hands in my hair. Oh no, this is so not good.
