Chapter 31

Ximena's POV:

My breaths became short and heavy as I stared at Alya widely. What's she doing here? The question rang in my head for the umpteenth time. Mom herself seemed shocked.

"Mason! What's Alya doing here?" She questioned.

He shrugged. "She said she wanted to come, and I let her," he replied smugly.

Alya still had that stupid smirk on her face. It infuriated me so much I wanted to stand up and slap it off.

"So we're sisters? Looks like you won't be able to get rid of me now."

I forced air into my lungs, clenching my fists. With tears brimming in my eyes, I rose and raced out of the room, with my mom right behind me.

"Ximena, wait!" My mom called, hurrying after me, but I didn't stop. Once I got into another corner of the house that was far away from Alya and the rest of them, I fell on my knees and let the tears out, my lips trembling. I can't believe it. My entire life was a lie!

My mom caught up with me and lowered herself. She looked apologetic.

"In really sorry… I… I didn't mean it for this to happen…" she began but I cut her off.

"Now don't you dare lie to me!" I screamed, scurrying farther away from her. The tears were pouring like rain out of my eyes. I sniffed and continued. "What do you mean, you didn't want this to happen? You knew this and you couldn't tell me!? What am I to you, really? A fool?"

"No…" she cooed, coming closer. "You're my daughter."

"Fuck that!"

I buried my face in my hands and sobbed out. It was all too much. Well, I'm also stupid too. I should've known this, but I just was blind. Trembling slightly, I tried to stop the tears from falling.

I felt my mom's hand on either side of my face but I slapped it off. How dare she touch me! She looked hurt but did well to hide it. Swallowing my pain and anger, I took in a deep breath and stood up from where I was.

"Is there anything else I need to know?" I asked icily.

My mom recoiled.

"If I'm not the biological daughter of CG, who is?"

"Um… I'm not sure if…"

"Just tell me already!"

"It's Lila… Lila Walker."

My heart skipped a best, and it felt like all the blood in my body had disappeared into thin air.

"What?"

Alya's POV:

I saw when Nikita ran out of the room to go after Ximena and I couldn't help the smile that creeped up my face. Karma sure is a bitch.

"Look at her… Trying to get rid of me, only to find out that we're sisters," I said sadly and broke into laughter. My dad stared at me like have grown an extra head.

"What? Were you there when I was suffering at the hands of Ximena?"

Something crossed my hand, and I walked up to him. Folding my hands, I cocked my head to the side and asked. "Since when have you been in an affair with Nikita that you got her pregnant?"

He looked taken aback by the question as his hands unconsciously went to his hair, scratching it.

"Um… It's been quite a while…" He began.

"Before I was born or when mom was still alive?"

"Way beyond that…" He confessed.

"Why didn't you just marry her?" I asked, and he widened his eyes.

"Relationships aren't easy Alya…"

"Oh… But getting another married woman pregnant is? Well, that's none of my business. All that matters now is that I know and as surprised as I look, I'm also not surprised." I said and walked back to where I stood. Finally, a way to get a payback for Ximena.

Nikita walked back into the room, and so did Ximena. Her hair was ruffled, her eyes red, and her perfectly done make up all over her face. It was obvious she had been crying but she pulled up a straight face, seeming unaffected by the revelation.

I struck while the iron is still hot.

"Um…Nikita, since it's been revealed that Ximena and I are sisters…is there any way for me to get back on the Beamer girls? I'd love to go back."

My dad gawped at me, and Nikita looked like she wanted to strangle me. Whatever.

"I'll work on that…" she muttered coldly.

"Mom!" Ximena quietly admonished. I beamed.

"Well, thanks, I'll be leaving now." Winking at Ximena, I added, "Bye sister," and strode out of the room, my dad behind me.

Ellen's POV:

I hurriedly picked the phone and put it back to my ears after I recovered from the shock. She wasn't done yet.

"What I find strange is, if he was poisoned… He should know, right?"

"Strange thing is, I didn't even notice all of this. Could it be he was deliberately hiding this?"

"Maybe, that's a good speculation. But why would he do it?"

"I don't even have an answer to that right now."

"Ellen… I know this sounds kind of weird… But I feel CG was aware of everything. He just let it happen. The question now is… Why?"

Dean's POV:

It was past bedtime, but neither of us had slept yet. It wasn't like we were kids who should be told what to do, anyway. I was messing around with my phone, ignoring everyone in the room… Mainly Lila, who was with Jayden testing her vocal cords. As much as I hated to admit it, she had a beautiful voice. Unique on its own.

My phone rang in the middle of the game, and I noticed it was an unknown number. Who would call me with an unknown number? Curious, I picked it up.

"Hello… Who's this?" asked.

"Hello Dean, it's me, Alya."

"Alya?" Chad glanced at me.

"Yes… Dean, there's something you need to know… About Ximena."

Yeah, right… I rolled my eyes.

"What about her?" I asked nonchalantly.

"What if I told you… Ximena isn't the biological daughter of CG?"

I stood up straight hearing that. Removing the phone from my ears, I stared at it surprised and put it back.

"Dean… Are you there?" Alya asked.

"Yeah… I'm here. You were saying?"

"What I said earlier is true. Ximena isn't the biological daughter of CG."

"How did you know this?"

"That's not important for now… You just have to believe me."

"Wait… If Ximena isn't the biological daughter of CG… Who is?"

"Hmm… Let me see me, me?"

Wait… What?

"Hold up, Alya…Hello? Hello?"

She had already hung up. Damn it! Now I'm confused. She just said Ximena isn't the biological daughter of CG… But it doesn't make it her, does it? That makes little sense!

"Hey Dean, what's going on? Who were you talking to?" Chad asked me.

"It was Alya…" I answered, trailing off.

"What were you two talking about? You seem startled."

"I don't know… She just called me and said Ximena isn't the biological daughter of CG and when I asked who was, she said it was her and hung up."

Everyone eyes were on me.

"Wait… Alya said that?"

"Yeah… She was the one who called." I replied, affirmative.

"Ximena isn't the biological daughter of CG? That's strange…" Jayden muttered. "But… Why is coming now?" He further asked.

"My thoughts too…" I replied.

"If she isn't, who is?" Nico asked. I glanced at Chad. He seemed lost in thought.

"Chad… Chad!"

He quickly snapped back. "What were you thinking about?"

"Uh… Nothing. Sorry guys, I have to go," he said and hurried out of the room, the rest of us watching him. I looked ahead and my glance met Lila's, neither of us looking away for a while. Eventually she did, but not without me seeing the faint flush in her cheeks. She's still thinking about the kiss, I thought, feeling a weird happiness within me.

Chad's POV:

I sped to my room and once I was sure I was alone, brought out my phone to call Mira.

"Hello Chad, how are you…and why did you call this late?"

"Well… Because this is really important."

"What is it?"

"As at now… It looks like more people are knowing what happened in the past."

"What do you mean?"

"Earlier, a teammate of mine, Dean, received a call from another teammate in the girl band Beamer girls, Alya. She told him about Ximena not being CG's biological daughter but gave it a twist. She said it was her!"

"Wait…what!?"

"That's the fact. Do something… And you have to do it fast."

"Um…okay. Thanks for the update. I'll call you back if I come up with anything."

"Okay…bye."

"Bye…"

I hung up, feeling restless.

Mira's POV:

Once I cut the call with Chad, I went over to Ellen. She was in her room. I knocked and waited for her to open. She unlocked it and peeked out.

"Mrs. Kentucky…?" I didn't wait for her to finish.

"Ellen, things are getting out of hand. You need to tell Lyric the truth." She seemed confused at first, but her eyes dawned with understanding.

"When?"

"Tonight."

"Tonight!?"

Oh God…
