Chapter 144: -4

I rolled my eyes. "Probably." "Alexis, stop this please. You're home now. You can leave this Eli--" He stopped talking and had a thoughtful expression on his face. He knew who Eli was, I could hear him. "No I can't. They have Jay." I said simply. "I need to finish this." I turned for the door but his next words stopped me. "I can feel that you still love me. It was in that kiss." I turned slowly. I opened myself up and felt the tears escape my eyes as I said, "I don't love you Gabriel accept it... Please.” I begged. “Don't come looking for me. What damage is done, is done. I'm doing this not just to hurt you, but to save you; and the family. I have a plan. And I'm asking a lot for you to trust me." I pushed aside the emotion and let the tears run dry. I watched his broken face nod. "Good." I said. I exited the room but left to door open. Mary was still on the couch but she was pretending to be asleep. I ran downstairs in a flash, grabbed her by the shirt and neck and threw her at full force toward the wall connected to the study. She smashed into the wall leaving a huge hole. Liz squealed and looked up with wide eyes. Joseph gasped and gawked at me. I waved at them and moved into the kitchen to wake Tristan up. I moved him into the living room. Gabriel came down slowly but brokenly. Liz stared at me with wide eyes while Joseph was obviously going through his mind as to why he didn't see me coming. I smiled emotionlessly. "Sorry for the rude intrusion.” Liz looked happy to see me but there was also fear and worry. Joseph had a blank face. No fear in his features at all. And now that Maryanne had stood up, she looked absolutely furious. Tristan was still slowly waking up. I waited until they all moved into the living room and sat Tristan down on the couch. Gabriel walked toward Mary and stood beside her. “You know you’re always welcome in this house.” Joseph said easily. I narrowed my eyes at him. “I’m sure,” I growled. I started walking around the living room as I thought about the next part of my plan… “Elijah is behind this,” Gabriel said suddenly. I turned my head to him and grinned. “Oh you do know him?” Joseph growled. “Only he would be able to get past my gift. I’ve never been wrong. I always expect something.” “It looks like Eli is much stronger than you thought.” I said. “Let’s get through this quickly. Sit please.” They all exchanged looks except for Mary. I could hear her scheming. She came at me quickly and I simply stopped her using my new gift. She stopped abruptly. Her whole body was now in my control. Her limbs were mine to use. She tried moving but they failed her. She growled coldly at me. I tutted and went up in her face. “Although I had come to… love,” I shuddered at the word. “you Mary, I would not feel sympathy in killing you. Just like I killed Jasper.” Her face froze and I could see her heart slowly breaking. This was the only way to hurt her. I knew it was an accident, but mentioning him was enough. “Jasper’s death was quick. But yours would be worse. You should have heard his screams though. His blood curdling---” “You heartless, cold son of a---!!” She yelled but I interrupted her. “Shush sweetie, I was talking,” I patted her face with a bit too much force and pushed her onto the couch. “Let us begin shall we?” They all sat obediently. Gabriel didn’t sit. He remained staring at me. I didn’t ask him to sit down or acknowledge him as I paced in front of them. “Elijah had been unknowingly attending our school since the middle of September.” I paused for them to take that in. I could see the fury written all over Gabriel’s face. Hell, I would be angry if I just found out the man planning to influence me had been in the same school for over three months. And I was angry but right now that’s not the point. I resumed. “His worker, Mr. Williams, was playing his uncle. But he’s been in the school for over a year. He’d been watching us, Gabriel.” I walked to a bowl of fruit and took a red apple out. “And they put me through four steps.” I explained only four of the steps to the group and watched the horror etch on each of their faces. Gabriel knew I’d missed out the fifth step but he didn’t say anything. I looked at the huge clock on the wall. “Today is my decision. It is New Years Eve so I’m guessing you know when my Decision is?” None of them spoke. I sighed and took a bite out of the juicy apple. “Oh, how out of touch. I figured it out. It is one minute between the New Year and this year. The transition from 2010 to 2011. I’m not sure on my decision yet… but I’m sure you could guess.” I winked. “For now I must leave,” I bowed over dramatically. “It was nice seeing the family again.” “Put your emotion back, Alexis.” I held up my hand. “You know what my name is and that certainly is not it. That’s my human name.” Joseph stood up. “You’re back, are you?” “I never left. A man once told me, Alexis and Lonny is the same person... That Alexis is Lonny. That Lonny is Alexis. We have the same heart beat, the same brain, and that I just hadn’t realized it yet. So Joseph, I never left. I was always… me.” I took another bite and put it on the table. “Try not to die.” I said as a warning for what was coming. I started walking out of the house. I needed to hold them down for at least two minutes for the next part of the plan. Joseph was harder to restrain than the rest of them. Gabriel didn’t bother putting up a fight compared to Maryanne. Tristan was in shock along with Elizabeth so they weren’t really fighting it. I started to climb onto the roof and made it on top in seconds. I let the red haze quickly fill my vision. I threw flames everywhere. The forest started burning in seconds and I left it to spread on its own. And now the last part of the plan. I jumped down from the roof and started running through the burning forest. And then I cut off all ties with Eli. I felt him shout in pain. I sent a hard bump toward him to make sure he stayed out. He was blind. He couldn’t see anything that was going on and I didn’t know how long it would last. I stood still by the river and located the person I was looking for. I didn’t need to look far. He popped out of the trees with wide eyes panting. Eli said hurt the family… But he didn’t say anything about hurting this person. I needed to restore my emotions… but I knew it would be horrible. I knew once emotions are blocked for a long period of time and then they’re brought back, they would crash into you like a brick. But it had to be done to complete this part. I shut my eyes briefly and broke the lock off the cage containing my ability to feel. Oh, god was it horrible. Feeling so many emotions at once was torture. The tears flowed quickly, the pain hit me like a car, the sobs racked through my body… He rushed forward and wrapped his arms around me. “Oh my God, Alexis. We thought you were gone.” The sob disappeared and my emotion was soon replaced by… Love…
