Chapter 18
Jessica’s POV
I wake up the next morning to birds chirping and the warmth of the morning sun coming through the windows. Opening my eyes; I feel a warm arm around my body. A smile crosses my face with the thoughts of the night before repeating in my mind.
**“Good morning, Sweet Pea.” “What the fuck”** I screamed startled. Jonas is waking up next to Celeste in my mind. **“Shit; Morning Jonas, you startled me,”** I let out a breath and my pulse returns to normal. **“Did you sleep well?”** he asks, already knowing my answer. **“Besides the heart attack you just gave me, yes thank you.”**
I'm a bit uncertain to why Jonas is now in my head; **“how are you…” “here?”** Jonas finishes my question. **“When you and Alex mated, we became one. Celeste’s and my sanctuaries joined together. Although, I will only be able to shift through Alex, I can feel your thoughts and feelings like Celeste can.”** I think for a moment, **“Will you always be here?” “No. Only when you and Alex, or Celeste and myself are near each other”** he chuckles.
Alex is stirring next to me; grinning as he listens to my conversation with Jonas. “Morning” I say, snuggling into he’s chest; “Good morning;” he wraps me tighter in his arms and starts kissing my neck, “you never; did tell me; what you; and Liv; were talking; about” he says between kisses. I moan as he reaches my mark. “I was talking to Livvy about why her and Jonny hadn’t marked one another yet. They were here five days before I was out of the hospital, I thought they couldn't wait to mate."
"So why didn't they?" he asks, his lips still caressing my neck. “Apparently; they started and she accidently electrocuted him,” I elaborate. He stops; rising up on one elbow. “That will dampen the mood.”
“How did she happen to electrocute her mate?” “I’m not 100 per cent sure” I answer, turning to face him, “Liv was saying, it’s to do with the witch half of her. From what I gather, when she is scared or nervous; her skin penetrates an electric current.”
He stands up and goes to the closet, “so why hasn’t it happened before” he calls out, pulling out a pair of jeans and a green shirt. “We aren’t quite sure about that either. Aunty Gil thinks it laid dormant until she got back here. My guess; besides the night of the banquet, the only other time we got the shit beaten out of us, was the first night we were taken. Besides the odd punch and kick, we didn’t really get hurt that much.” I sit up with the sheet over my legs. He stopped getting dressed, one leg hanging out of his pants and a puzzled look crosses his face.
I explain further, “Jonny would always be there. He would make a stupid comment or step in front of it and the focus went on him. He copped most of the retaliation of our beatings.”
“That explains why Jonny is so overprotective, not just of Liv but of you too.” I nod my head, hopping out of bed and going to the closet. “He is much stronger than that dumbass and the rest of that pack give him credit” I frown, grabbing some underwear and a purple and pink floral sundress. Coming out of the closet, “I can’t understand how he or Luna Aubrey can hurt their own child, the way they did” my voice starting to crack. Alex put he’s arms around me. “He’s safe now” he says kissing my forehead. I look into he’s brown eyes and smile.

Alex’s POV
Jessica looks stunning in a pink and purple floral sun dress. Her mate mark showing the world she was my one and only. We headed down to the dining room for breakfast. Olivia, Jonathon, Nathanial and Debbie were sitting at one of the side tables, looking pleased at the mate marks they have on display.
I can't let the information Jessica just told me go to waste; I smirk, “good to see you got through the mating process without getting zapped” I tell Jonathon as we walk up to the table. Conjuring the deadliest look, Jonathon stares me down; then at Olivia; then Jessica. Nath and Debbie looking confused.
“What’s the schedule for today?” Jessica asks, changing the subject as quickly as she could. “Well,” I say taking a seat. “We have a meeting with Elder Samuels, Mum and Aunty Cyndy in an hour to have you sworn into the pack. Once done; you, Jonny and Liv will be doing some training with our master trainer” “Ha, Good luck, Runt” Nathanial says getting up to leave, “We have to go help the Orange Pride to move some furniture into one of the rooms. One of the panthers just had a cub and they haven’t finished setting up their nursery yet” Debbie explains. “Good luck yourself” Jess yells after the pair, walking toward the doors.
“What’s the Master Trainer going to get us to do?” Jonny asks. “Probably some basic training to see what you can do. Once training is done; Liv you will be doing additional training with your mum and you two,” I look at Jonathon and Jessica, “will be helping me plan a party.”
Olivia scrunches her nose; “that’s not fair” she protests. “Well, we can’t have your witch zap innocent bi-standers when they least expect it; can we?” Jessica puts her face into my chest; her shoulders giving her laughter away.
*‘It’s so easy sometimes’* I tell Jess through mind link, her shoulders shaking even more. Olivia pouts, stabbing a forkful of her poached eggs as Omega Simone places a plate of bacon, poached eggs and toast in front of Jessica and I.
“What sort of party do you want planned?” Olivia asked, “our Alpha Ceremony” I answer, her face dropping with disappointment. Jonathon puts his arms around her, “Don’t worry Liv, you won’t be left out of the planning” beaming his crooked smile at her. “As if I will let you” Jessica remarks, elbowing Jonny in the ribs. Olivia’s eyes sparkle with excitement again.
I put the last bit of toast in my mouth, “Are we ready to go?” I ask everyone. Murmurs of yes were said and we pick up our plates; place them on the trolley and head for the top floor to mum’s office.
