The next day was a saturday. James was still in bed even when it was past 9 am. in the morning.
Last night, he couldn't sleep. He kept rolling and tossing on the bed.
As soon as he closed from work, he went straight to the small motel room he had booked days back.
The fact that the security guards let him leave without questioning him surprised him.
He had thought that the company would try to not let him leave since he's now under their debt.
But that wasn't what was bothering him the most.
What was going through his mind the whole time was his encounter with Alisha at her office.
The memory of the whole encounter with her kept replaying in his head.
He wasn't sure of how to react either. He couldn't deny the fact that she cared for him dearly, and a part of him felt like he still cared for her.
'This is all useless! Am I missing her or what?' he thought.
The more he tried to get her off his mind, the more he thought about her.
"Ahhh!" He lamented. "What's happening to me! Come off it, James. Well, no matter how pitiful she gets, one thing is clear, I won't forgive her and I won't get Jaxon and Henry released." He said and pulled down the sheet but still didn't get out of bed.
His mind wandered off, and he began to think about what his day would look like today.
Ring! Ring! Ring!
The sound of his ringtone jolted him out of his thoughts. He turned to check who was calling and saw that it was Lana.
He slowly picked the phone up and swiped to the right to answer.
"Hello La-la," he said, lazily.
"Where are you James?" She asked, a bit worried. "I thought the Sterlings have got you kidnapped again."
"Haha!" James managed to laugh. "I'm fine, just tired." He yawned.
"Hey are you feeling ill? I told you to remain in the hospital but you didn't listen. Now see what you've caused yourself." Lana said from the other end with a concerned voice.
"It's not that, I'm just overthinking." James replied.
"Thinking about what?
"Nevermind, I can handle it."
"Where are you James?"
"I'm in a hotel."
"Oh my God! How were you able to book a hotel in Sky Suites since you are incognito" She asked surprised.
Ever since she came to Emerald falls, She lodged in Sky Suites, one of the best hotels owned by the Wanes in Emerald Falls and there's no way James would book in that she wouldn't have known.
"I'm not in Sky Suites."
"What? Where are you?"
"I'm in Ken's motel. But don't come over, okay?"
Lana had expected him to mention one of the big hotels in town but Ken's motel was one of the oldest and cheapest motels in Emerald Falls.
"A motel? What! That's a disgrace to the Wanes." She said anxiously.
James knew that Ken's Motel is a very dangerous zone in emerald falls but that's all he could afford at the moment with the little money he had. "That's all I could afford at the moment."
"James, why not get a house already?
"A house, a house. I know. I'll get a house this weekend. Eric is working on it. I gave him an instruction to buy DiamondVilla for me. He said it will be ready this week."
"Oh Yea. He told me about it. Anyway, I just called to let you know that I'll be traveling this week. I'd not be around the company's next week. So you better get your ass up and make sure you give Eric the rightful instructions. Mr. Sterling is still acting as if he's in charge."
"I'll." He replied slowly.
"Alright, bye then…"
"Wait."
"What?"
"I just wanted to let you know that what you did for me yesterday was amazing. Thank you, Lana."
"Oh! that!" She laughed. "Speaking of yesterday, so tell me what are you going to do about Anderson?"
"Anderson? Shit! I almost forgot about him. Screw me!" James cried out.
"Yea, because you've been thinking about Alisha. huh? I know you've been thinking about her." She said, "Who knows how sad Anderson must have been. Look James, that guy is a very nice person. People like him are rare. He stood up for you yesterday, and I think you should make it up to him."
James thought for a moment and then said, "Sis, I think the black diamond card would be handy at the moment."
"Hahaha!" Lana chuckled. "I thought you never needed it. Anyway, send me your location and I'll get it delivered to you ASAP. before I leave Emerald falls."
After the call, James sent his address to her and quickly got dressed. He left his room and went down to the bar to await the delivery.
Within an interval of 20 minutes, a Rolls Royce pulled up in front of Ken's hotel.
When the owner of Ken's motel saw the Rolls Royce from his office, immediately, Mr. Ken, the owner of Ken's motel, rushed outside to see the big boss who had come to his motel.
The news that a Rolls Royce pulled up in front of Ken's motel spread throughout the neighborhood like wildfire.
Even the guests and customers who were present all came out to see who the big shot was.
Ken's motel is a very cheap and old fashioned motel in Emerald Falls. Infact, it was the cheapest.
The building itself is a bit plain, with a couple of two floors and a weathered look.
Inside, the rooms are simple, with just the basics you need for a night's stay.
Aside from being a motel, It's also a place notoriously known for permitting illegal activities such as illicit sexual activities and illegal drug transactions.
Sex workers, gangsters and local drug dealers use it as a disguise to carry out their illegal activities.
"Who could it be?" A guest asked a sex worker who he had booked for the night.
"I don't know but I think whoever owns that car is a big shot in Emerald Falls.
"Did you see that fancy car out there?" One customer whispered to another, glancing toward the Rolls Royce parked in front of Ken's motel.
"Yeah, I noticed it. It's not the usual kind of car you see in this area," the other replied, his curiosity piqued.
A third customer chimed in, "I overheard some folks talking, and they said it's owned by a big shot in Emerald Falls. Must be someone important."
Another guest added, "I wonder why they'd come to a place like this. It's not exactly a high-end motel."
The sex worker who had been booked for the night joined the conversation, "I don't know who it is, but I've never seen a car like that around here. Maybe they're here for some discreet business."
James was silently seated at one end of the bar and listening to their conversations while smiling inwardly to himself.
The fact that Royce Rolls had no sign or family sigil to identify which rich family owns it kept everyone wondering.
A Man dressed in black suit alighted and began walking towards the main building of the motel.
"Welcome to Ken's Hotel, Sir." Mr. Ken greeted him. " Please follow me into my office."
The man followed Mr. Ken to his office.
Mr. Ken offered him a seat. "Please, sit. What can I offer you?"
"I'm good. Thanks," the man replied.
"How can we be of service to you?"
"I'm looking for a young man who booked a room in your hotel." The man said and proceeded to bring out his phone and showed him a photo of James."
Mr. Ken peaked forward and looked on the screen before he called out to his Manager.
"Tom!" He called out to his worker.
"Yes sir!" Tom replied.
"Do you know anybody called James, who booked a room here?"
"I'm not sure sir, but I'll take a look right away."
"Are you stupid? You Moron! What do you mean you're not sure?"
"I'm sorry…" Tom pleaded.
"Find James and stop wasting Sir's precious time. Can't you see he's in a hurry?"
Tom scurried out of the room to the reception to check the room James was occupying.
He dashed back to Mr. Ken's office and reported back to him immediately.
"Sir, he's in room 25." Tom said.
"You must be mad! What are you waiting for? Go get him for Sir." Mr. Ken barked.
"No! I'll see him myself. Just take me to the room." The man said.
"A… are you sure about that, sir?" Mr. Ken asked.
"Yes." He replied.
"Well then, I'll take you there sir." Mr. Ken said.
