Chapter 7
**Lucan**
I walked in silence until I came close to the simple but large hut of Alpha. When I was close enough, I just leaned against a tree with my arms crossed and waited in silence. Jared was never seen on these bright nights, and it was strange. Every wolf had to howl at the moon and follow his instincts and his animal nature. For a long time, I wanted to become the Alpha of this territory, but I wasn't strong enough to win a physical fight with Jared, at least not yet. Maybe if I could find some kind of weakness in him, I might have a chance against him.
There was no movement outside, and it seemed the same inside his house. I was about to take a closer look when Roxane came out of the cottage and I became even more curious. At that moment I decided to follow her, being close to her might give me some good information about the Alpha. But suddenly a fascinating scent appeared nearby. A female was running into the woods and that awakened my pure hunting instinct, in seconds I became the hunt and the female the prey.
" Katherine!" she whispered her name like a moan. She was a beautiful white wolf and I had longed for such a delightful conquest for some time.
First I would play a little, and then I would have the pleasure of doing something pleasurable with her until morning. This thought increased my excitement and made me run quickly to the other side of the forest. The plan was to intercept Katherine and capture her as I had always fantasized.
Katherine
I was so nervous and excited. I didn't know if it was because of Jared or the full moon. My wolf was restless and my emotions were all mixed up, it seemed like nothing could relax me at the moment. I prepared a backpack with spare clothes and pretended to go as far as I could without leaving Wolfgang's territory. I hadn't reached my first heat yet, but the males loved to hunt females during the full moon, just for fun. It was instinctive as soon as our scent was in the air.
If I couldn't avoid a confrontation with a male, I knew I had to defend myself. But I wasn't in the mood to fight one of my own.
I took a quick shower and put on some shorts, a tank top and sneakers. I had arranged to meet Jade and Andrea at Wolf Ridge for a fun and peaceful girls' night out.

I followed the scent of three females from a distance, and when the air shifted, I began to follow the sound. Although they were far from me, my wolves were fast enough to catch them. In just a second, my body transformed as I ran and my clothes scattered to the ground. I had an unshakable confidence that I would catch them without a doubt. After a long run, I finally caught the scent of three female wolves. Satisfied, I howled to let them know I was approaching. I wanted to give them a head start so they could prepare for the hunt.
More howls followed, some even louder than mine, and I immediately froze. Nervously, I looked back, my expression darkening. Something told me to run, as fast as I could, and I did. I ignore my prey and leave the hunt for another night.

I tried to stay quiet in my rented room for a while, but my body was burning inside and my mind was screaming for some freedom. Those howls provoked me too much and it was hard to calm down. I couldn't leave, I had to be stronger than my animal instincts, but it was too difficult. I took a deep breath, several times to calm myself, but the moon was arousing, seducing me. On these full moon nights, the energy, the bright light in the dark sky was like a longing lover calling, and my wolf wanted to take total control.
Despite all my self-control, I couldn't resist anymore. In seconds I jumped out of the window, transformed in mid-air and tried to get as far away from the forest as possible. I wanted to protect the females of my pack, but my presence would put them in more danger if I got too close. I wasn't ready to commit to a female, it wouldn't be fair to the one caught in my pheromones. My wolf might want her now, but the human didn't.
Katherine.
I knew Jared didn't go out on full moon nights, and I was asked not to go to his house on those days. It was very strange, but I trusted my friend. I had a secret too, so I never asked and respected Andrea's silence on the matter. I opened the door and looked at the darkening sky. The full moon would soon rise, shining brightly, enticing, calling us in a way that was impossible to resist. That night our lupine spirit would praise it with an intense howl. As I passed Andrea and Jared's house, I looked around and sniffed the air. There was some kind of commotion, but no males around. I breathed a sigh of relief and ran into the woods. It was time to get out before it was too late. In a few minutes, the forest would be full of wolves.
When the first howl sounded, my body tensed. I ran as fast as I could to the agreed-upon meeting place with the girls. To my relief, I saw Jade already there, in her lupine form, sniffing all the herbs and flowers nearby. I looked around and sniffed the air, there was no sign of any males nearby, but I didn't see Andrea either. I started to undress, put the clothes in my backpack and hid it in a bush. I was worried that Andrea was not there. I tried to catch her scent and calmed down when she suddenly appeared as a majestic red-furred wolf.
"We need to get a little further away. It's not safe in this area. "I motioned for them to follow me, but they only responded with joyful and accepting howls.
Despite the silence that followed, I grew anxious. My fur stood up as I sniffed around. I had the feeling that I was being watched, but I couldn't figure out who or where, and that worried and irritated me. My wolf growled softly and I started to walk slowly and carefully in the direction of Jade and Andrea. With a slight nudge, Jade and Andrea understood what I wanted, so they followed me without question.
We had walked quite a distance and I felt safe. We played for a while, jumping and rubbing against each other. Jade howled and nibbled on Andrea's ears. We were happy, at peace, free. I watched them with an inner smile of contentment. It was good not to look over our shoulders and worry about being hunted. It was easier to enjoy ourselves in the wild, fully in our animal form.
I began to chase a rabbit. It hopped around and as soon as I caught it, I began to lick its ears before letting it go and catching it again. I enjoyed this game until I heard howling echoing in the air. I immediately let it go for good and became extremely alert. The moment the two male wolves arrived, my fur stood up and a growl left my throat.
Roxane
I smiled when I saw Katerine stuck with two males. Katerine was a descendant of a strong lineage but was an orphan in the pack. Since she had become more mature, Jared had begun to notice her too and turned more attention to that young female. If she were caught, perhaps she would no longer be a threat to my plans with the Alpha. With that wonderful thought in my mind, suddenly my smile died on my lips. The two males start a fight with each other. Assuming my human form, I shake my head. How could two males allow themselves to be manipulated so easily?
"IDIOTS!!"They can't even catch a female. "I growled the words as I watched my defeat.
I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Two massive males, drooling over a female and ending up fighting for nothing in the end. Putting my hands on my hips, I watch Katerine run at high speed out of the forest. It wasn't this time that I would get rid of her, but I wasn't going to give up. Some day or night, I would find other situations that could benefit me. Even if meant, using my wits and some dangerous schemes to put Khaterine ...out of my way.
