Chapter 28 Chapter twenty eight
Remembering all this, her eyes snapped back open with fierce determination. She must save the princess today, even if it's the last thing she does.
With all her strength left, she released a huge blast of energy, flying Emma straight into the pothole at lightening speed before any of them could react.
As her eyes closed again, she hopped sincerely that Paul will be the one to find Emma. After draining all her essence, Rexy felt more powerful and unstoppable. He then began to announce all over hell that he's challenging his father to a duel. Whoever wins, becomes or remain the king of hell.
When Satan returned, he couldn't believe the beast Rexy had turned into. Initially, he wanted to refuse the duel but to avenge Lima, he agreed to it. It was then concluded that it'll hold on the top of the highest mountain in hell, where it was freezing cold at its peak.
Rexy felt confident he could actually win because of the powers he stole from Lima. Although some good people still tried talking him out of it, telling him no one fights the devil and win, he refused to give up.
Finally, it was the day of the duel. Very early that morning, people tropped to the foot of the high mountain. No one was allowed to come too close, because the energy released are going to intensifying as the fight does.
All around, people were placing bets on who'll win. The crowd was rowdy as people argued, bet, drive in with expensive luxury cars. Immediately the opponents came, everywhere grew silent and all eyes turned to the massive projector that was capturing everything at the top, as it wasn't visible to people below.
Satan stood in front of his son with a little smirk on his face. “You sure you don't want to reconsider this, son.? After all its just a hundred years more and the throne is yours” He asked scrutinizing him as if trying to read his mind.
Rexy laughed, “what old man, feeling scared already.? But so you know, i can't wait that long to claim what's rightfully mine.” Satan nodded thoughtfully and held up three fingers. “I have three conditions. If i win, you'll release the celestial King and queen, lose your right to hell's throne forever and get out of this kingdom. You'll be banished for enternity.”
He nodded impatiently as Satan finished speaking. With a thunderous roar, he unleashed a huge blast of white energy from his hands, making the mountain tremble and people cover their ears in fright.
But he just moved slightly away and didn't let it touch him. Furious, he crazily began to release more and more energy, but none of it touched him. Satan smiled and just clapped his hands twice, a rapidly spinning tornado appeared and blasted him to the edge of the mountain.
Cold sweat broke out of his forehead as he realizes, he hasn't even acquired ten percent of Satan's strength. But still, he couldn't give up. Closing his eyes, pieces of broken rocks began to rise as he raised his hands.
He then released them to fall on his father. Dust filled the air as they poured down with full, crushing force.
When the dust cleared, it was only a huge pile of broken blocks remaining. Elected, he shouted in happiness, declaring himself winner.
“Don't you think that victory is too sudden.?” A voice suddenly asked from behind them. As he turned, he saw Satan standing behind him, unscathed with tunder bolt flashing from his eyes.
“No way..! I… i just saw you -
“Buried under the bricks.? Come on, did you really think that cheap powress can take me down.?” He asked arrogantly, moving towards him but he continued backing away, till he reached the edge of the mountain.
Satan grabbed his hand and helped him back up effortlessly. “I wouldn't have saved you but my conditions haven't been met yet” he teased, smiling coldly.
But he still didn't listen. Catching Satan off guard, he sent a bolt of lightning and struck him. Without wasting time, he drew out his chain and wanted to draw from his essence, but the chain snapped and shattered immediately it got close to him.
"Leave now..! Satan roared angrily in a deep demonic voice, and instantly, all the surroundings became very hot. If it were to be normal human there at that time, they'll have been reduced to ashes.
Rexy gritted his teeth. “Alright I'll leave. I already know you love Reno more than me long ago. Give him the throne if you like, but i promise I'll be back. Not only to claim hell, but Earth and all others” he boasted and with that, the duel ended as he admitted to defeat.
Meanwhile, Emma was thrown landed in a huge forest, unconscious. She laid there for a whole day as no one had passed by and seen her.
The walker couple where returning home by road from the fair where they lost their two years old daughter and never saw her again. Allen had almost sobbed to death, and Benjamin could only continue sighing in sorrow.
Suddenly, he stepped very hard on the break, making the car stop forcefully with a loud screech, throwing them forwards. Benjamin quickly jumped down from the car to check the person he was trying to hit.
He sighed in relief when he saw she wasn't hurt, the tire barely missed her. As he turned to return, Allen came down too and saw her lying pale faced on the floor. Her cheeks were deep purple from the severe cold and her lips were white and dry.
Panicked, she picked the girl up and they rushed to the hospital. Throughout her admission, the couple where by her side, watching her.
Finally, she woke up one week later but couldn't remember anything, except her name. Seeing her helpless she was, they decided to adopt her, and throughout the years, they've been showering her with love.
Seeing all this, Emma's spirit that had flown to the past couldn't help but shed tears of gratitude. She hopped everything will be over soon so she can return to her lovely family again.
