Chapter 7: Familiar eyes
Amaarae's POV
I felt cold and alone, my heart was withering while my mind was going insane. I was seeing two of everything I stared at.
My mouth trembled and my teeth chattered as my eyes searched for his faint figure.
I tried to whisper but my throat clenched and held the words from leaving. I felt my heart tearing into shreds, I saw the predator getting nearer.
I fell to the floor, on my knees and my eyes pouring water drops uncontrollably..my legs quivered and I yelled out to nature,
“ Help.” My voice bounced and echoed to show I was alone though I still saw the red eyes that peered into my soul.
I pleaded, “ Please, don't kill me.” My palms placed against the other as they rubbed.
I felt a familiarity with the wolf, as I watched from the side, more like it was protecting me. It just stood by the werewolf faction, my heart ached for it.
I knew those eyes, I just couldn't point where I had seen them before.
I thought hard and far, trying to recall but it didn't come to me..I just continued peering into his eyes.
It growled softly, it was conveying a message. I smiled at it and it grunted.
It sat on the floor and I laughed at how it cutely cleaned its paws and bared its fangs at me.
He was trying to be scary but all I saw was a silly animal. I wanted to go closer: feel and touch it, more like become one with it.
It felt that way too, it hummed a song, a tune. It was enchanting, drawing me to its side, I stood up without a thought, walking mindlessly back to the barrier I had crossed.
It clicked, I knew who it was. I moved closer and I caressed it's smooth fur and I said gently,
“ Daemon.” He lost his calm and growled angrily, turning his back and disappearing from my sight.
I smiled sadly, I looked into the dark, hoping to see somebody or something but there was nothing.
I yelled into the dark, “ Ugly vampire, where are you?” I heard a distant laughter, it was creepy but his soulless figure just appeared.
He rebuked me, “ I'm not ugly.” I rolled my eyes and shooed him away.
He was cold and emotionless. I tried to move him but he sat there and said, “ You called me and I came back.”
My heart grew cold and I said with a punch delivered at his back, “ You! You left me to rot.” He did not cry out, rather he turned to me with a cold look and said, “ Let's go.”
I didn't want to go so I sat back down and I said, “ No.” He frowned and I felt, “ He won't want to take this.” I expected him to leave but he said, “ Okay.”
Unbelievable!
I looked at him astonished and whispered, “ Won't you go?” He ignored me, disappearing from the side. I let out a sigh of relief, but soon enough, he appeared right back with a deer slung on his shoulder.
He had a bag in his hand too.
I laid down on the grass, tired from all the talk and drama. I felt like there was more to come and I was weak.
I was hungry…
I couldn't think of it being that he brought the food for me but I was intrigued on how he wanted to start a fire.
He pulled out different sophisticated materials from the bag, I watched agape.
He smirked. He pointed at the blue stuff and said through his clenched teeth, “ Gas.”
I frowned, it sounded obscene but interesting so I just watched. He got out a box thing too, he pulled out a wood from inside and said, “ Match stick and Match box.”
I nodded with my eyes still stuck on them, he struck the match box and it brought out fire.
I gasped. He chuckled, it quickly lit up the gas and brought out bigger flames though they were blue.
He struck it again but threw it at my body.
“ Ahhhhhh.” I yelled as I flew up and flung my clothes violently. He started laughing loudly.
He said, scratching his head, “ The deer is too big.” I looked at it and I silently agreed and the gas was too small.
But my stomach wanted burnt deer, I wanted to savor it. I looked at him with a pout and he said coldly, “ You won't abandon me here when we sleep.” I nodded, considering the idea and he said, “ You are thinking about it.”
And I remembered, “ He can read minds.” I immediately said, “ I won't. Pinky swear?”
He looked at me with a funky smile, then he brought his finger and we hooked it, I smiled cheerfully.
He tore the deer into small chumps using his claws, flashing his fangs at me, I gulped nervously.
Once he was done, he took 6 chumps and let them roast while he stared at me.
It was a cold and detached look, he turned the hot meat with his bare fingers occasionally until it was the right color and he switched it off.
He threw them at me and said coldly, “ Eat up.” I hesitated a bit until he shredded one and ate it bit by bit and after that he licked his finger and said, “ Delicious.”
I smiled and dove into my meal, wide and unrestrained. It was scary to watch as I bit into it without emotions.
He commented again, “ Your mother was demure, you are a wide beast.” I coughed, choking on my food, the meat went the wrong pipe and I felt like the air in my body was being sucked away.
I glared at him, he sat there unmoving, muttering coldly, “ I hope you die from choking.”
I coughed loudly, my eyes were red now and my nose burned. I looked at him for help but he looked away and said, “ You need to be strong.”
He got up quietly, his back folded behind his back, he walked round me in a circle and he said, “ You are a wolf.”
I snarled and said, “ I'm not.” He nodded and said, “ You are a half. But you still are..”
He looked up at the moon that shone brightly and it was full, he said coldly, “ You have to turn.”
I yelled, “ I can't.” He looked back at me coldly and said powerfully, “ Yes, you can.”
I was confused at his words but my bone bent, it broke..
“ Crack!”
