Serena Mclane's P. O. V As the words shakily leave my lips, Damien suddenly stiffens up and his lips pull into a thin line, his hands on my waist not loosening. "Are you sure?" He practically spits out as he takes a step back, letting go of me all together. "What does he look like?" He asks, "Um," I pause as I take in his harshening expression and slightly wild look in his eyes. "He had brown hair and green eyes and had an Italian accent, I think. I don't know I'm not good with accents." I spill out nervously, all in one go. "Fuck." My eyes widen and my ears perk up, my mind detracting from the serious situation. Mentally shaking my head and berating myself a little, I hurriedly ask. "What's wrong?" Damien's eyes snap to me and he reaches for me once more. I glance behind me and then behind him to see what the hell he wants. My mind refusing to get rid of the image of him pressed up so close against me. Stop it, I say to myself. Damien reaches for my hand and glancing down, I see him reaching for my handbag. "What-?" Damien cuts me off as he takes it from me and hurriedly undoes it, "Who the hell gave you the right to do that?" I scold, sassily placing my hands on my hips. "You can shout at me all you want later but not now Serena." Damien growls out as he unzips my handbag and simply tips it over. My mouth drops open as all the contents in my bag spill out. My face particularly flushing as a tampon falls out. To my utter mortification, he picks it up and throw sit over his shoulder along with a set of my keys to the house. "Damien." I mumble, my voice barely being heard over the clatter of him throwing things around. My teeth clenching in particular as he throws my small compact mirror and lipstick. "Do you know how expensive that is?" I mutter in annoyance. Damien as usual ignores me but turns and stalks towards me. "Oh no. You aren't tossing me around like that." I blurt out with wide eyes as I try to escape him but he's too fast and wraps an arm around me as I try to dodge past him. I choke lightly on my own spit as his hands start to trail down my body. "Wh- why- who- what?" I splutter as he turns me around, patting me down. I squirm and then grunt as Damien pushes me against the wall to stop me from moving around. Did he just touch my butt? "Damien." I gasp out but stop midway as the door to his office opens. My head swivels round to see Max standing there with wide eyes. "Uhh." With that, Max slams the door closed, leaving me with an even more flaming face. Max probably thinks the worst of me right now. Damien doesn't even halt as his hands trail down my trouser clad legs and then up my back once more to my torso. His hands start to feel around for something while I uncomfortably wait for him to stop his nonsense. Though I know it's all been doing done for a reason. Hopefully a valid one. I can feel him pull up the collar to my button up shirt and run his hands along the nape of it before tugging at something. It's probably the tag of my shirt, I think with the roll of my eyes. In the next second Damien lets me go and with immediacy I turn around. "What was all that for?" I ask but then shut up as I get my answer. In his hand he holds a small black circular device with wires sticking out of it. He puts it down on the ground and then stands on it, crushing it into little pieces before walking to his window, opening it and throwing it out the window, far away into the distance. For good measure I assume. "Idiots think they can use the same tactics on me twice." Damien growls out as he slams the window shut with much more force then is really needed. "Twice?" I ask unthinkingly. "Long story." He says as he rubs his jaw, looking extremely stressed. "Okay," I mumble, "But what was that about?" I ask him, pointing to myself and then the window. Damien narrows his eyes at me and then shakes his head, "Some man trying to keep tabs on me is all." He answers vaguely. I don't let him dodge the question so I cross my arms, putting on a stern expression. Though it probably seems like child's play to him. Only he can pull off a truly scary yet stern expression that not only exudes power but makes the person respect him as well. It's quite fascinating really. "For what reason?" I ask, hinting–more like demanding– for answers. "Nothing your pretty little ears can handle." He murmurs. "Don't you mean 'can't' handle," I ask dryly. "No. I mean exactly what I said." "Oh." I murmur, knowing he won't be giving me answers anytime soon. Damien then snaps up from staring at the ground and looks at me attentively. "What else did Daniel say or do? Was there someone else with him? Did he touch you? Did you notice anything suspicious about him. Damn it Serena, how can you be so reckless." He huffs angrily at the end. I stare at him blankly but then realise he's in no mood for games and wouldn't take my attitude too nicely. "He just said he'll be seeing you later after he mentioned he'd seen me somewhere before. And yes there was someone with him and no I did not see that person. The entirety of the man practically radiated suspicion as would anyone whom you don't know walks up to you like that. As for your last question; Guards or no guards, I'm sure he would have come up to me in the first place." I rant off, answering each one of his answers fluently and feeling quite proud of how well I did so. I didn't even wither under his harsh gaze when I used my sarcastic tone. An amazing feat if I do say so myself. Damien tilts his head slightly– something I notice he does when he's analysing something or listening intently– and then brings his glare down a notch. "You're right. I apologise. But wait," he says as he sees me going to answer. "You just said he'd seen you somewhere before." I nod my head in confirmation. "Have you even seen the man before?" I shake my head no. Too scared of giving too much and too little away. Though I've told him everything I do know about the scenario which is very limited. "Fuck." He curses again causing me to tilt my head. Taking in the way he forms the word. Why does it sound so weirdly appealing? I can't help but to feel appeased and disconcerted at the same time. "That means he's also been keeping tabs on you. That can't be good. This is bad, very bad." He mumbles. My eyebrows rise as he talks to himself like a madman. Not like I don't do it but still. "Why is this bad?" It's like the man's going to hurt me. But judging by Damien's reaction, I can't help but to think it's actually the contrary. Damien snaps around to look at me and then shakes his head. "This is the one thing I don't want you to ask me questions about. This is dangerous and I can't have you snooping around." He growls out. I raise an eyebrow as I take in his tense and taught stature. "You do know that's just making me more curious." Damien narrows his eyes at me and roughly bites his lip. My eyes dart down to the action, drinking it in before giving myself a mental shaking to snap out of it. "I guess this means only one thing then." Damien ponders as he walks over to his desk, leaning against it. I make a face, dreading what it is. "What?" I voice out. "I need to up my security especially around you." "Security?" I ask in confusion. I know Damien has security around the building but this is new. Damien glances up at me before freezing. "Yes. I have my men on you. You need it." I grit my teeth in anger but stay silent. I know he's only doing it for my benefit. "Do you think that man, Daniel, knew that you had guards on me?" Damien immediately nods his head, "If I didn't, you probably wouldn't be here right now." That's.... comforting. "Stay here." Damien commands as he gets up to leave, grabbing his jacket. "What? Why?" I ask trying to go after him. "I need to meet someone and you can't tag along." Without letting me answer or argue with him. Damien leaves me behind as I sulk alone in the office.
