Chapter 77: Marcus Lost Total Control
Marcus Pov
The room became so quiet that I could hear every breath behind me. I slowly raised my hand until my palm rested gently against James’s forehead. His skin felt cold.
For a brief moment, I didn’t move. Everyone waited silently. I could feel their eyes on me, but none of them dared speak.
I slowly closed my eyes, and a deep breath escaped my lips. Then I loosened the restraint on my energy aura.
A soft silver-blue light gathered beneath my palm. At first, it flowed quietly, but within seconds, it became stronger. I could even feel it spread through the room, carrying a pressure that made the air feel heavier.
I frowned but still slowly and carefully guided my energy into James’s body little by little, following the connection beneath my hand.
The moment it entered him, I felt it. His consciousness was weak… faint, like it could disappear any second.
My heart tightened, and my face turned serious.
Hold on… Just a little longer.
Slowly, I sent another small wave of aura toward him. For a brief second, everything was calm. Then—
Boom!
A violent force suddenly rushed toward my aura. It attacked aggressively as if guarding what belonged to him.
My brows pulled together.
James.
Even while unconscious, his instinct had noticed the foreign aura inside his body. Suddenly, the weak consciousness struggled violently. It pushed against my aura with everything it had.
James’s body jerked beneath my hand, and the bed shook.
“Doctor!”
I heard one of the nurses call, followed by hurried footsteps. I didn’t open my eyes, but my calm voice, which carried authority, rang out.
“Don’t interrupt.”
Immediately, the room fell silent again.
I ignored everything around me and focused on the faint consciousness before me. I didn’t force my aura forward but did everything slowly.
I poured in another wave of energy aura and wrapped it around his consciousness just to make it feel something familiar, but the moment our auras touched again—
Bang!
James resisted even harder. His consciousness pushed against mine wildly, refusing to let me come closer. Then, outside, his body began shaking harder. The machines around him let out hurried sounds.
“His heartbeat is rising!”
“No… no. Now, it’s dropping again!”
The doctor’s anxious voice echoed beside me.
Sweat slowly rolled down my forehead.
“James… stop fighting. I’m not your enemy.”
I continued trying, but he resisted even harder until my arm trembled slightly.
I narrowed my eyes.
His instinct was stronger than I expected, no wonder the doctor needed my help. Even unconscious, James was still protecting himself.
But I really don’t have much time. I needed to help him before things got out of control. Though I could force my way through. With my strength, crushing his resistance would only take a moment, but if I did that… his consciousness would be injured.
I took a deep breath. Then another, and only after that did I try again.
This time, my energy aura became gentler as it circled around his struggling consciousness instead of clashing against it.
Just like calming a frightened child, his resistance gradually slowed down.
Good!
My eyes became steadier as I moved closer and continued helping him. But suddenly, my hand paused.
A familiar pressure stirred deep inside my body.
My expression changed slightly.
Not now…
Deep inside me, the sealed SSS+ Rank energy aura pressed heavily against its restraint. It was quiet, but somehow, I could feel it waiting for an opportunity to burst out.
My breathing became heavier.
Every bit of concentration I placed on James made controlling the powerful energy inside me harder.
A dull pain spread through my chest. The pressure became heavier… and heavier. But I gritted my teeth and ignored the pain. Instead, I focused on guiding James’s consciousness and poured my energy into him.
Seconds passed, and James’ resistance became smaller. Behind me, I heard the doctor whisper under his breath.
“…It’s working.”
But I didn’t relax. I concentrated hard on reviving James.
Outside, I heard the monitor begin to change.
Beep…
Beep…
“They’re stabilizing!” the doctor suddenly shouted, hope filling his voice.
I continued to pour energy into him. I knew I still needed to hold on since they hadn’t asked me to stop.
James… don’t you dare die! Elena is still waiting for you.
You mustn’t die! Unless… I’ll drag you back from the pit of hell!
Without realizing it, I poured more energy into him, and his body accepted every bit of it.
Behind me, the doctor’s breathing became quicker.
“His heartbeat is recovering!”
“We’re bringing him back!”
Excitement spread across the room, but my expression suddenly changed.
My brows furrowed.
Something… had gone terribly wrong. The pressure inside my body exploded without warning.
My silver-blue energy aura burst out in every direction. The entire jet shook violently. The light above flickered, and several pieces of equipment crashed onto the floor.
Bang!
A loud cry echoed behind me.
“Master!”
Without waiting, I immediately pulled my hand away from James. The connection between our consciousness was broken at once, but the surging energy inside didn’t calm down. Instead… it became even more violent.
“Urgh…”
A painful groan escaped my lips.
My vision blurred for a second as another terrifying wave of power surged through my body.
My eyes quivered as I immediately understood what was happening.
The restraint… It was breaking.
My fists tightened so hard that my knuckles cracked one after another.
The pressure in the room became heavier every second. The air around me seemed to freeze. My energy aura spread wildly like a storm that had lost control.
The doctor staggered backward, his face turning completely pale. The two Beta nurses couldn’t even withstand it. Their eyes rolled back as they collapsed onto the floor.
The weaker Alpha men inside the jet groaned as they dropped to one knee. Some couldn’t endure the pressure at all and were almost losing consciousness.
The walls of the jet shook like they would split apart at any moment.
I bit down on my tongue. My eyes were already bloodshot from the surging power.
No…
Not now… not here when we were flying and any mistake could kill us all.
I breathed hard and tried to force the SSS+ energy back, but the moment I tried to suppress it, it exploded even harder.
The pressure inside my body was rising. My muscles ached, and my consciousness was becoming blurred.
Fuck!
Veins slowly appeared beneath my skin, and my breathing became rougher.
The SSS+ Rank energy, which I had locked away, no longer listened to me. It wanted to break every restraint I had placed on it. It wanted to show its true power.
But…
I could still remember what Dennis had warned me about. My body couldn’t control this power now. So… I must stop it!
“Arghh!!”
I growled through gritted teeth.
Another explosion of energy aura burst out from my body. It spread around, and I could even smell my pheromone scent—Mint.
Though not much, under my sensitive state, it became obvious.
Behind me, Nexus struggled against the overwhelming pressure as he forced himself forward one step at a time. His face was pale, but his eyes never left me.
“Master!”
I didn’t answer. No—I was just trying to get back my sanity.
I couldn’t lose control, or everyone here would suffer.
Suddenly, my body moved before I realized it. My hand shot toward the heavy metal table beside me. With just one pull…
Bang!
Without thinking, I threw it across the room. With a loud sound, it smashed against the cabin wall, breaking it into pieces.
“Master, No!”
Nexus roared, but it was like his voice was distant.
My blood surged wildly, and the strength in my body increased. I could feel the bloodthirstiness inside me rising.
Kill. Destroy.
The burning in my body became worse. My vision shook, and the room spun before my eyes.
I looked at the people around me like they were ants that I could crush in a second. My mind blurred, and I knew I was about to enter my beast stage.
Wake up!
I clenched my fists harder until fresh blood slowly dripped from my palms, where my nails dug into my skin.
But I felt no pain.
“Urghh…!!!”
The powerful energy inside me became wilder, about to take over my sanity. Suddenly—
A sharp sting pierced the side of my neck.
My body stiffened. For one brief second, everything seemed to stop.
I slowly turned my head only to see the doctor behind me, his hand still holding the injection pressed against my neck.
His entire body was trembling, and the moment he met my eyes, his whole face turned pale. Sweat covered his face.
“I-I’m sorry… Master… I—” his voice shook. “…Please forgive my rudeness.”
Slowly, a cold liquid rushed into my body. It spread through my veins with frightening speed.
My body twitched.
The raging energy inside me suddenly slowed. The burning faded little by little, and the violent pressure filling the room rapidly weakened.
My eyelids became unbelievably heavy.
I could guess what was coming next. But I still clenched my fists and threw a glance toward where James lay.
A relieved expression flashed across my face. The liquid injected inside me continued to weaken my energy. I tried to hold on, but it seemed impossible.
The strength left my legs as I dropped to the floor.
My vision was slowly turning dark, but still… I managed to grab Nexus, who was calling out for me.
My red eyes pierced into his.
“E-Elena…” I gritted out with difficulty. “…Bring her b-back immediately.”
Then—my vision turned completely dark, and the last thing I heard was Nexus’s anxious shout.
“Master!”
Everything went black.
(Who is ready for their next meeting?! ❤️)
