Chapter 106 Can I Hug You

Chapter 106 Can I Hug You

As her words fell, not only did Terry not let go, but he gripped even tighter.

Just as he was about to speak, Glenn beat him to it.

"Isabella." He spoke, his voice extremely hoarse.

Terry immediately pulled her protectively behind him, his eyes unfriendly. "What else do you want?"

Glenn ignored him, stubbornly looking at Isabella. "My flight is at 3 p.m. the day after tomorrow."

Isabella's heart trembled slightly.

"What I said last night, think it over carefully!" He stepped forward, ignoring Terry's obstruction, and suddenly grabbed Isabella's wrist with shocking force. "I'm not making a deal with you, I..."

Isabella could no longer endure this humiliating tug-of-war. She pulled hard, trying to break free from Glenn's grip.

"Mr. Woods!" Her voice carried a hint of pleading and final dignity. "Thank you for everything you've done for Oliver and me during this time. I'll remember this kindness. But I don't want to think about these things right now. Please let go, don't let the last bit of dignity between us disappear too."

Her words, though polite, were filled with finality.

Glenn's body stiffened sharply. Looking at the distant pleading in her eyes, his heart felt like it was being squeezed by an invisible hand, the pain making it almost impossible to breathe.

Then, slowly, bit by bit, he released his grip.

But the moment he let go, Terry moved in, saying in a low voice, "Come with me!" Without waiting for an answer, he tried to drag her toward his car.

"Terry! Let go of me!" Isabella was completely enraged. She struggled desperately, but his hand was like an iron clamp, holding tight. She couldn't break free at all.

"Isabella!" Henry appeared from somewhere. Seeing the situation, he immediately handed Oliver to the bodyguard behind him and moved forward to pull Terry away.

"Terry! When the hell will you stop!"

"This is between her and me, get lost!" Terry's eyes were bloodshot, completely losing his rationality.

Looking at this man who seemed possessed before her, the disgust and anger that Isabella had suppressed for two days completely erupted in this moment...

"Terry! What right do you have to control me?" She shouted shrilly, her voice carrying a sob and endless grievance. "What gives you the right?"

"Now you come here acting crazy at me? Don't you think you're ridiculous and disgusting?"

That last sentence was like the sharpest knife, stabbing hard into Terry's heart.

His body shook violently, and his grip on her unconsciously loosened.

Isabella seized the opportunity to shake him off forcefully and dove into Henry's car without looking back.

"Henry! Drive!"

Henry glared fiercely at Terry and quickly got in the car.

The Bentley let out a sharp sound, swerved around the obstructive Maybach, and sped away.

Two days later, at the international airport.

Isabella had come to see Glenn off after all.

She thought that no matter what, Glenn had helped her so much that she should come see him off, both emotionally and rationally.

This wasn't just politeness; it was to put a clean and decisive end to this unclear relationship between them.

Inside the private jet lounge, the atmosphere was somewhat oppressive.

The moment Glenn saw her appear, those eyes that had been dead for two days finally rekindled a faint glimmer of light.

"You came." His voice was terribly hoarse.

Seeing Isabella appear, Glenn didn't think twice before going up to meet her.

Isabella handed over a wrapped small gift. "For Vincent, I hope he recovers soon. And makes more friends abroad."

Glenn took the gift, his fingertips touching her skin, which was ice cold.

"Isabella." Vincent saw her and immediately rushed over, hugging her legs tightly, his eyes red. "Are you abandoning us?"

Children's innocent words hurt the most.

Isabella's heart ached. She crouched down, touched Vincent's head, and said gently, "How could that be? I just hope you and your daddy can live well abroad. The climate there is better for your recovery. You need to listen to your daddy and take care of yourself, okay?"

As her words fell, a flight attendant assigned to the private jet came down from the plane, looking at Glenn with flirtatious eyes: "Mr. Woods, the plane needs to take off. There will be heavy rain in 12 hours, and we must land in Valeria within 12 hours."

Glenn nodded slightly, signaling the attendant to leave.

The moment of parting had finally arrived.

Glenn looked deeply at Isabella. In that gaze were too many feelings, reluctance, attachment, and a trace of indescribable suppressed pain.

Then he withdrew his gaze, crouched down, and picked up Vincent.

"We should go."

"Okay." Isabella stood up, still maintaining that calm appearance.

Glenn looked at her deeply once more, then, holding Vincent, brushed past her.

Just as he was about to walk out the door, he suddenly stopped and turned around. "Isabella."

"What is it?" Isabella looked over, their eyes meeting.

At that moment, dark clouds covered the tarmac above.

He looked at her, his lips moving as if wanting to say something, but in the end, a thousand words turned into a sigh.

"Can I hug you?" He asked, his voice carrying a trace of humble pleading. "Just as a farewell between friends."

Isabella froze.

She looked at the pain and reluctance in his eyes. That man who had always been so superior now seemed like a boy about to be abandoned.

Her heart softened inexplicably.

It was just a hug, just a farewell.

She slowly nodded.

Glenn put Vincent down, stepped forward, opened his arms, and gently, carefully embraced her.

This hug was light and brief, without any desire.

His chin rested on top of her head as he greedily breathed in the faint fragrance from her body.

"Take care of yourself." He said in her ear, in a voice only the two of them could hear, hoarsely.

"You too." Isabella also raised her hands and hugged Glenn tightly.

The next second, he slowly released her, and the last glimmer of light in his eyes was completely extinguished with the end of this embrace.

He didn't look back again, picked up Vincent, and boarded the plane.

Isabella stood there, watching his disappearing figure, feeling empty inside.

But what she didn't know was that outside the lounge, in a hidden corner, several telephoto lenses had completely captured that scene of their affectionate embrace and reluctant farewell.

Half an hour later, Isabella got into the car, heading back to the office.

As the car drove smoothly along the road, her phone suddenly started vibrating crazily.
