Victoria's POV

''Shit.'' I mumbled to myself when I realized what I just said.

''What did you say ''He asked with confusing eyebrows, while I choked and thought of what to say.

''You heard me right alpha Eric, didn't you do it, are you going to deny the fact.'' I interrogated firmly, while he stared at me with dumbfounded eyes, which indicates he wasn't expecting such words from me.

''Where did you hear such words from, did Bernard said these things to you.'' He asked in anger as he glared at me with anger filled eyes, while I just stood and didn't know what to say.

''This is ridiculous.'' He scoffed angrily and walked away from me. I watched him went into deep thought, while I wish I have gifts of reading one's thought.

''Did he say these things to you.'' He asked angrily while I quickly spoke up

''It's a rumor that had been circulating around.'' I responded quickly.

''This is ridiculous.'' He grunted as he clenched his both fist and angrily shook his head. I saw him went into deep thought but instead of having a guilty look on his face, he rather wore the expression of being hurt by my words, which confuses me.

''How would anyone think of such thing, how can they think I will hand Victoria over to the wolverines.'' He murmured in a shaky voice, which made me realized he was About breaking down and was doing his best to hold himself.

''Please excuse me.'' He spoke up

''I'm…'' I wanted to speak, but he eyed me with tears soaked eyes, which forced me to nod my head and left his office.

I stood outside his door with folded arms as I reckoned of what was going on. Alpha Derick's reaction doesn't show like one who should be guilty, rather he was really hurt by my words.

''Why don't you come out and ask him.'' My wolf suggested, and this time I did not argue with her, neither did I agree to it. After a few minutes of waiting at the door, he called me in, which I did and walked into the office.

I stepped into the office and noticed he was shirtless, and I couldn't help but gaped at his Strong built muscles, but something else caught my attention.

''Sorry, I spilled coffee on my shirt.'' He spoke up, while I just stood stunned, staring at the necklace on his neck, which I never knew he was putting on all this while.

''Where did you get that.'' I spoke up while pointing at his neck because I remembered I was wearing it on my neck the day I was taken, and I didn't remember him taking it off.

''This?'' He asked as he held on to the necklace.

''Yeah.''

''Its Victoria's.'' He replied and put on a new shirt, but I wasn't satisfied with his answer. I needed to know how he got back the necklace.

''You haven't given it to her.'' I asked, curious.

''No, she was wearing it, but I found it in the room she was held captured.'' He responded and sat behind his table

''Where she was held captured?'' I asked with furrowed eyebrows

''Yes. When I got to the room she was already taken by the wolverines and I saw this on the floor.'' He murmured beneath his breath and picked up his iPad, while I just stood at my spot, dumbfounded.

''What is all this.'' I murmured to myself as I fixed my gaze on him, trying to process all he just said to me.

''Is there a problem.'' He asked, as he noticed I was still on my feet.

''No.'' I shook my head and went back to the couch. I picked up the laptop and pretended I was working, while actually, I was doing nothing. I thought of the things he said to me and wondered what was going on. Here was alpha Derick saying he did not meet me in the room, then who was the person I saw in the room that walked in with the wolverines and tricked me into following them.

''No, this is impossible.'' I murmured to myself, but it came out, bringing the attention of alpha Derick to me. He lifted a bow at me and stared at me with curious eyes before speaking.

''Is everything okay.'' He asked

''Yeah, Yeah.'' I replied quickly and averted my gaze back to the laptop, but I couldn't concentrate. I needed answers, I was so curious on what he just said, something in me was telling me something wasn't right somewhere.

''Just ask him.'' My wolf grumbled in my head, which forced me to speak up

''I was wondering…'' I paused to get his attention, which I did because he kept his iPad on his desk and settled his gaze on me.

''I was wondering if you went with a search party searching for her. sorry, I'm just curious.'' I spoke with a soft chuckle.

''I didn't go with a search party because it would be stressful for us, since her cousin was the one teleporting us around.'' He responded.

''Jane?'' I murmured to myself. How the hell did I not think of it. Jane would definitely know all that happened. But then a thought came up in my head. If he claims it was Jane teleporting him, then how did he show up with the wolverines.

''Is something bothering you.'' He asked, but I shook my head and averted my attention to the laptop. I could feel his piercing and curious gaze on me, but I did not dare to look up at him.

''I need to see Jane and this mean I have to reveal myself to her.'' I thought to myself as I forced myself to work. A few minutes later, Anthony walked in, looking worried.

''She is no longer in the pack.'' He announced, which made me sighed in relief.

''Where the Fuck did she go.'' Alpha Derick grunted angrily as he scampered his fingers Through his already messy hair. I stared at him and saw the worried look on his face as he continues scattering his hair worriedly.

''I have no idea, but I heard she left three days ago.'' Anthony answered, which made alpha Derick groaned and arched his back on his seat. I took a better look at him and saw how stressed and worried he looks, and wondered how I did not see this earlier.

''This is Terrible.'' He groaned as he closed his eyes while I watched him went into deep thought.

''Victoria.'' He called out to me Through mind Link which startled me, but I composed myself and fixed my eyes on the screen of the laptop

''Where are you, please come back to me.'' He pleaded in a weak voice which sounded like he was about breaking down. Curious, I raised my head and noticed his eyes were shut tightly. I met gaze with Anthony and quickly looked away.

''If you can hear me, I just want you to know that I love you so much.'' He spoke sincerely.

''I'm sorry I couldn't protect you. I apologize for my carelessness, but you don't have to get scared to show yourself to me, no one will dare hurt you.'' He pleaded, which made my heartbeat accelerates.

''Please come back to me, I truly miss you.'' He said with a heavy sigh and closed the mind Link.

I went into deep thought and wondered why he never apologized or say anything about what he did but rather he apologized for not protecting me, which made me more curious and confused.

''Victoria.''my wolf called out to me

''Yes.'' I responded

''On that day, did you perceive his scent or something familiar from him.'' She asked

''No. A choker was wrapped around my neck preventing me from…'' I paused, and my eye dilated with realization,

''That wasn't our mate, that was an imposter.'' My wolf spoke firmly.
