Chapter 11 Tiny Abduction

Chapter 11 Tiny Abduction
MIA

"I believe you have good ears, Ms Jefferson. Go back and come back later. What is wrong with you?" The female officer I know as Kate said for the umpteenth for almost a month now.

"But I have been coming here for weeks now and you have refused to look into my case. Jay Jay needs to go back to his real family. I don't have enough to feed him."

She chewed her gum as she operated her phone.

"Why aren't you taking me seriously? " I almost cried.

"Because I know your type. You girls find many ways to dump your problems on others." She said, looking at me.

What the.....

"You need to learn how to take responsibility for your actions. The police weren't there when you opened your legs for your black boyfriend."

I scoffed in disbelief. "My boyfriend is white."

She raised her brows at me.

"I have never even been with a black boy before."

She scoffed.

"Please you have to help me out. Jay Jay can't stay with me anymore. I have exhausted all my savings." I said, holding the baby wrap carrier around me which had Jay Jay wrapped in it as he played with my hair.

"You have to do something," I added.

She placed a paper in front of me like she always does.

"What is this?"

"Write a statement," she said.

"What the..... I have lost count of the number of statements I have written."

"You need to write another," she said.

"What happened to the others I have written?"

"No idea." She shrugged, facing her phone.

Alright, that is it.

"Can I get another officer to attend to me please?!" I called out, looking around.

"What the fuck are you doing?" She asked.

"Something I should have done a long time ago. You are annoyingly useless,"

Her face twitched. "What?"

"Anyone, please?!" I called out, ignoring her.

"What did you just call me?" she asked.

"Please, Officer Kate is not taking me seriously!" I called out, attracting more attention to myself.

"Okay, fine. Quiet down. I will do something about it," she whispered, making me look at her.

"You need to write the statement so I can..."

"I have written so many statements, officer. You put them away carelessly and didn't even think about helping me."

She heaved a sigh.

"Sorry, no. I am not going to write another statement. Call me a different officer to help me. Jay Jay has to go back to his family. I can't feed him anymore. He will starve. Have a heart, officer." I urged.

"So you are not the mother of this child?" She asked.

"No. I am not. How many times do you want me to tell you that? I found him in a trash can."

"Fine. Since you found him in a trash can, that means his real parents, or say mother doesn't want him," she said, making me look down at Jay Jay.

"I mean that is the only explanation for it." She added.

I nodded. "Yeah. I think so too. But we have to do something about it. I would love to keep him but I don't have a job and all my savings were spent on him. If he stays with me much longer, he will starve. I don't want that."

She nodded. "All I can do for you is send your case to child welfare. They will handle the situation better."

I looked at Jay Jay. He has my hair in his mouth and is looking up at me.

I took it out of his mouth and moved my hair away from him.

I think he is hungry again.

He had been eating a lot lately. If I don't get help now, he will starve. I am broke right now.

I looked at the officer.

"Child welfare will be better. At least they can feed him."

"Alright then. That is settled. Just write down your name, phone number, and address. Child welfare will be at your doorstep before today ends." she said.

My heart reacted but I nodded regardless as I picked up the pen and wrote down all she asked me to write.

"Thank you," I said, moving the paper to her.

"You are welcome. But you know, it is intriguing that you claim not to be his mother but you call him Jay Jay," she said with a smile.

I stared at her.

"If he is not yours, how come you know his name?" She asked, wiggling her brows.

This woman still doesn't believe me.

I raised my chin. "Well, if you had taken my case seriously from day one, I wouldn't have gotten used to him and decided to name him."

She hummed, staring at me with that sarcastic belief.

"Just make sure the child welfare comes today."

"Oh, they will. They will come."

I turned to leave.

"They will relieve you of your stress. You mothers. Fucking irresponsible," she scoffed.

I shook my head, waving her off as I headed out of the building.

I walked towards the room and boarded a bus.

Minutes into the ride, I am resting my head on the window and patting Jay Jay's back.

He is resting his head on my chest, sound asleep.

As much as I don't want him to starve,  I want him to stay with me. Once he leaves with the child welfare, I will be back to being lonely and pathetic.

I don't want that.

But it is for the best.

I can't feed him anymore. I have no money. I need to go out there and look for a job.

I can't do that with him around.

He needs to be taken care of.

I looked at him. He is still asleep.

I smiled as I caressed his hair.

My little friend, Jay Jay.

I am going to miss eating cereal with you.

Playing and singing songs to you.

And also, your habit of playing with my locks with your tiny hands.

So much fun time.

I even vent to you like you could understand me.

That was silly.

But it felt like you understood.

You hardly cry. Only when I pinched these cute cheeks of yours.

You are such an adorable angel.

And you made me happy.

I have never been that happy in a long time.

I let out a sigh, smiling at my thoughts.

Good things do end.

I am heading back to reality now.

Right after the Child Welfare takes you.

That is how life works.

I have to accept it.

I got out of the bus and began walking home.

Jay Jay is still asleep. I held him with one of my hands as I walked.

Mary told me about a nanny job.

I think kids are the gateway to tranquility.

But the kids are older. They are not like Jay Jay.

Either way, I have to take the job. It is hard to find a job in this city.

I should take the one that I see no matter how it is.

I will just take care of them like I do with Jay Jay.

It is not going to be hard, will it?

Besides, I.....

A black van screeched in front of me and stopped, making me freeze. Next, some scary-looking black men got out of it quickly, making my heart drop in terror as I took shaky steps backwards while holding Jay Jay tightly.

They approached me instantly while taking out their guns.

A knot grew in my belly.

"No....." I turned to run, but one of them grabbed my back collar harshly, making me scream as I fell to the ground.

I whimpered at the pain in my back thanks to your fall but held Jay Jay regardless, preventing him from getting hurt as he began to cry.

"No, please, don't hurt me,"

Next, one of them leaned down to me with a cloth. He covered my nose and mouth.

I struggled a bit but froze the minute I inhaled a strong scent that moved to my head instantly, making my vision blurry.

I saw the dreadlocks of the person with my poor vision.

I was losing consciousness slowly.

All I could think of was Jay Jay.

They might kill him too.

Oh God.

Darkness took me completely.

AT KINCAID'S MANSION

IN A ROOM

SPLASH!

I gasped for air the minute cold water hit my face in a large quantity.

"Fucking wake up, bitch," I heard a male voice say as I looked around me.

I am in a spacious empty room with four men.

Not just any man but four black dangerous-looking men with tattoos.

My heart pounded as I stared at them.

It worsens the minute I realize that my hands are spread to the sides and are chained to the wall. My knees are on the wet floor and my body is dripping wet thanks to the cold water he just poured on me.

Oh God.

"Wh....who are you people? Wha.....what do you wa...want from me?" I trembled.

A familiar man among them scoffed. He is the one with dreadlocks who drugged me.

He is dressed in a white tank top, exposing his tattoos and black leather trousers.

I swallowed as I stared at him.

Jay Jay came to my mind, making my heart pick up.

I can't see him anywhere.

"Where is Jay Jay?"

"Huh?"

"Where is my baby?" I cried.

"This white chick calling Lil Kai hers?" The dreadlock man asked.

I furrowed my brows slightly.

"She tripping," one of the men said.

"Please.....he is innocent. Don't hurt him. Take me instead. I have mature organs than he, please."

They furrowed their brows and shared a look.

God, what am I saying?

I can't let anything happen to Jay Jay. He is the only friend I have in this world.

"Please, I beg you. Take my organs instead. Let Jay Jay go. He is supposed to go with Child Welfare today. Please, let him go." I cried.

The dreadlock man crouched down in front of me.

His brown eyes sent terror down my spine.

"The fuck you saying?" He asked.

"Where is he? Where is Jay Jay?" I almost whispered.

"Who the fuck is Jay Jay?"

I let out a sob.

Oh no.

They have killed him.

I can't believe this!

"What did you do to him?! How could you kill an innocent child?! How could you?!"

He kept staring at me with furrowed brows.

"You should have taken my organs instead. Mine are mature. They might not be very healthy because I don't feed that well but they are still mature. I wanted you to take them in the first place. Why didn't you take them? What have you done?!"

"Yo, Tyrell,  you gave this chick crack?" One of the men asked, making others chuckle.

"Shut up," the dreadlock man said without looking away from me.

"Oh, Jay Jay." I sobbed, lowering my gaze.

"Listen, bitch,"

I sobbed.

"Hey!" He snapped his fingers, making me look at him with my tear-filled eyes.

"You are going to tell us who you work for and why you kidnapped Lil Kai,"

I furrowed my brows. "What?"

"Who do you work for?!"

I flinched. "I don't know what you are....."

"Answer the fucking question,"

A commanding voice filled the room from the entrance.

Everyone looked in that direction.

So did I.

I saw a very tall, chiseled, and dangerous black man approaching. He is dressed in a black shirt and black trousers, carrying charisma and authority as he approaches with his hand in his pocket.

The dreadlock man and others moved aside as he got closer.

I think.....I think he is the boss.

I gulped as he stood in front of me, looking down at me as my heart pounded.

His face is mean and at the same time calm.

He has short and tight curls with a natural texture. His skin is smooth and glowing medium-deep brown

Flawless than any black man I have ever seen.

I picked up his piercing icy blue eyes that seemed familiar

He has an extremely chiseled and sharp jawline, giving incredible masculinity and strength.

I could go on but a familiar baby sound caught my attention in a direction.

I saw Jay Jay alive, healthy, and in the arms of another black man.

My heart jumped for joy at the sight of him.

"Jay....."

My chin was grabbed instantly and I was jammed with piercing icy blue eyes, glaring at mine.

My heart dropped into my belly.

His grip tightened, making me whimper.

"Why did you kidnap my son?" The snarl was terrifying.

Wha.....what?

His...his son?

Kidnap?
