Chapter 10 Kai’s Wrath
BIG KAI
WEEKS LATER.......
"The land is far beyond a hundred acres. It will be enough for any huge project you plan to work on." Jordan, one of my employees explained.
We are currently in the meeting hall in my real estate company. Seated in my head seat, I stared at the projector displaying the images of the land.
"I plan to work on an amusement park," Mr Smith, one of my biggest clients and a middle-aged white man asked.
He is seated next to me, dressed in a blue suit and staring at the projector.
"High scale or low scale, Mr Smith?" Imani asked. She is seated on my left, dressed in her professional outfit and looking at my client with her glasses on.
"High scale. It will involve a hotel and event center." He said.
"Then you got yourself the perfect number of acres," Imani said.
I moved my eyes to him.
He nodded and moved his eyes to the projector.
"The land also has......" Jordan went on as a movement on my phone screen took my attention.
I picked it up and I saw images of some battered white men sent to me by Reeko.
A text from him followed it instantly.
It read, "OG, these motherfucker be trippin' They got the balls to march into the hood and exploit a family in the hood. They almost sold their land. One of 'em is effing minister."
I moved my fingers on my screen and typed a quick text.
"On my way," I clicked the send button and put my phone into my inner suit jacket pocket.
"What do you say, Mr Kincaid?" Mr Smith took my attention. "Is the price okay?"
"Imani will tell you the perfect amount. I need to handle something urgently. Excuse me," I said, flickering my eyes at Imani who stared at me questionably as I got on my feet.
"Caleb," I called as I walked towards the double glass doors and I sensed Caleb following me behind.
I put my hand in my pocket as I walked out the door.
I walked along the wide hallway as some of my employees moved around, busy with their jobs.
My long gray suit jacket flexed back and forth as I walked.
"Mr Kincaid!" I heard Imani call.
I heaved a sigh as I continued walking.
"Mr Kincaid," she called again.
I kept walking, heading towards the elevator. The doors opened before I got there and some people walked out of it immediately at the sight of me.
Caleb was fast enough to hold the button to the elevator to keep the doors open. I walked in and he followed me in.
I looked ahead and I saw Imani talking to a female employee. Her eyes are on me as the female employee explained whatever to her.
The door closed and we moved down.
My phone rang and I took it out of my inner pocket.
Imani is the dialer.
I rolled my eyes before taking the call.
"What's up?"
"Where are you off to? You still have to sign the sales document, Mr CEO." she reminded.
"I got you there for a reason,"
"Where are you going?"
"The hood,"
"What the.....will ever drop the hood for Pete's sake? You are no longer a part of the hood" she asked.
"Nathaniel Kincaid can't swallow Big Kai, Imani. Big Kai made Nathaniel Kincaid. You know what's up,"
She heaved a sigh. "When are you coming back?"
"An hour or two."
"Make it an hour."
"Yes, ma'am."
"I am serious, Kai. You have a meeting to attend." she reminded.
"I got you," I hung up. "Is the car ready?"
"Yes, boss," Caleb answered.
We got out of the elevator and walked along the reception, ignoring greetings till I got out of the building.
I moved towards my black Tesla and Caleb quickly moved towards me and opened the backseat door.
I got in and he joined the driver in the passenger seat.
"The hood, Neo," Caleb instructed the driver as I scrolled through my phone.
The car moved and I put my phone away.
Next week will make it a fucking month since my son went missing and no one could find him in this entire city.
I have started a search outside the city which has not been successful as well.
I don't want to fucking believe he is dead.
No blood of Kai can die easily.
He is not dead.
I just have to find him.
I don't care how long it takes. I am not going to stop looking for him.
And I can't wait to get my hands on the bastard that took him.
I will not spare his soul.
They say you can kill the body. Not the soul.
Imma prove that fucked statement wrong.
The ride took almost an hour before I got to the hood I grew up in.
Bricktown.
My fucking origin.
This hood made Big Kai.
More reason Imani would never understand.
She was a naive little girl when I took her out of the hood. She never liked it here.
But I did.
And still do.
The hood is the typical place mainly for us black people. Young bloods moving around with their skateboards and basketballs beautified the streets and reminded me of the good old days when I was just a boy.
I moved from a street boy to ruling the streets.
Now, and at fucking thirty, I am an OG.
At least that is what they call me.
Well, be it old or new, a gangster is always a gangster.
Just because I left for greener pastures doesn't mean I will forget my fucking origin.
I watched as some young blood stared at my car as we drove. The tinted windows made it hard for them to see my face but they do know who is in town.
Hood recognizes hood regardless of the shape and style.
"Big Kai!" Some hailed as we drove slowly towards the destination.
Not long later, we got to my usual operation spot. It is a huge club.
The biggest in the hood and town.
I didn't wait for Caleb, I got out of the car with my dark shades on and walked towards the building.
Caleb followed me behind and we entered. I took off my glasses as I stared at the place.
It is a little bit rough but some workers are fixing it and getting it ready for the night.
"Big Kai," a familiar voice called, making him look in that direction.
It was Mike. A tall tattooed nigga dressed in a black tank top, his cap turned to the back, and a blue baggy jeans.
"Welcome home, Big Dawg,"
"What's up, Mike?"
"Thanks to you, niggas be feeding good, Big Kai," he said, smiling and showing off his silver teeth.
"Smooth," I said, heading towards the room.
"Yo, Young!" He called out for someone who was seated in front of the room entrance. The person got on his feet instantly at the sight of me.
"Big Kai," he said, gesturing towards the room
I gave a slight nod as I entered the room.
I saw three shirtless white men on their feet but their hands above their heads and chained up to a steel pole.
"Big Kai," one of the men behind the white men called, making Reeko look my way.
"OG," he called, walking towards me.
I rested my eyes on the white motherfuckers as I took Reeko's extended hand for a handshake.
One of the men placed a seat in front of the white men.
I moved towards it and sat on it.
Caleb moved a pack of my brown cigars to me. I picked one and put it in my mouth.
Caleb lit it up for me and I took a draw. I looked at the white freaks as I let out smoke.
They all looked more battered than they were in the pictures. Reeko must have exercised his muscles more.
They shuddered as they stared at me.
"The middle one's the minister. He be doing a lot of corrupt stuff." Reeko said.
I stared at them with their lousy-looking belly and annoying glasses.
Fucking morons.
People like them keep terrorizing towns.
Especially towns filled with black people.
"Where the family at?" I asked without taking my eyes off the white freaks.
"Bring them in," Reeko ordered.
Next, a door opened, revealing a black family of four. Parents and two kids.
"Good.....good day, Big Kai." The man of the family greeted nervously.
"You fucking wanna to sell your home to these morons?"
"We....we owe them money," the man said.
"How much you owe?"
He shared a look with his wife.
"You finna answer him, Louis," Reeko urged.
"Six hundred grand," the man said.
I scoffed. "You fucking serious?"
He lowered his gaze.
"What you use it for?"
"Our daughter needed surgery urgently," his wife answered.
"Why didn't you go to Reeko?" I asked.
She shared a look with her husband.
"We thought he had a lot of people on his plate," she said.
"You decided to meet these white freaks instead,"
"We thought we could pay up after a year,"
Reeko scoffed. "How you gonna pay six hundred grand in a year, Louis? We know you work as a effin' Janitor."
I raised my brows.
"This nigga be trippin', Big Kai," Reeko added as I moved my eyes to the white freaks.
"Aren't you three bigger than six hundred grand?"
No one answered.
I rested my eyes on the minister.
"Mr Minister, what else is behind this six hundred grand?"
He didn't respond but stared at me boldly.
I raised my brows. "Certainly not their house. You wanted something else, don't you?"
He didn't respond.
The man behind them hit the minister, making him whimper.
"He wanted to take our children!" Louis' wife blurted.
"Say what now?" Reeko asked.
Hmm.
"They wanted to take them and traffic them, Big Kai," she added.
I smirked at the minister.
He stared at me with less confidence.
"Louis' didn't tell me that," Reeko said.
"Human trafficking huh?" I asked.
He kept staring at me.
I got on my feet, took a draw from my cigar as I moved closer to him.
I blew smoke on his battered face, making him close his eyes.
"Listen, minister, you don't come into Big Kai's hood and pick my people like you fucking grocery shopping. Past days are gone. You had your chance to do whatever you fucking want to my race. Now, things have changed. You feel me?"
He kept staring at me.
"Don't try this again, minister. I hunt and end people like you. Especially when you tamper with my hood. But don't try this again."
He kept staring at me.
I took another draw from my cigar and blew out smoke. I moved the burnt part of my cigar towards his nose, making him shudder.
I shot it up his nostril, making him groan in pain.
I moved away from him and looked at Louis and his family.
He lowered his gaze.
"I am disappointed, Louis,"
He didn't say a word.
"Reeko,"
"OG,"
"Get their details and send em to Caleb."
"Straight up, OG."
Louis looked at me.
"Start a decent life with two mill."
His face twitched and his wife was stunned.
"Don't you fucking lend money from men like this again," I warned.
"Yes, Big Kai," he said emotionally.
I averted my eyes from him and moved them to Reeko.
"Burn the white freaks,"
"Sweetly," Reeko mouthed and smirked devilishly.
I headed for the entrance door with Caleb following me behind.
"Thank you, Big Kai!"
"Thank you!"
I heard Louis and his wife as I headed out of the room and then out of the building.
I got into my car and we drove off.
A few minutes into the ride, my phone rang.
I took it out and I saw Tyrell's name.
I took the call.
"Big Kai,"
"You better have some good news,"
"We found him."
I froze.
"You found Lil Kai."
"Yes, boss."
My heart relaxed for the first time in a fucking month.
"Where the fuck is he?"
"Some girl has him."
I furrowed my brows. "A girl?"
"A white girl."
I clenched my jaw. "Bring me my kid and the fucking bitch too."
"Yes, boss."
