Chapter 82

Chapter 82
Ruby

I'm disappointed when I wake up all alone on my bed. The bed feels weirdly cold without my men in it. it's hilarious though because I've been sleeping all alone on my bed since I was a little girl. I always wanted to decorate my own room with dolls and staff so mum had to let me be own my own. Now my room seems so empty.

I yawn and stretch my body before getting off it. For the first time in my life I'm afraid of going downstairs without cleaning myself up. I hop into the shower, wash my face clean my body brush my teeth before putting on a cute flannel dress. I comb my hair and tie it in a ponytail, do light make-up before heading down. I feel so disappointed when I don't meet them downstairs. I thought I would find them seated waiting for me.

'Jeez Ruby, you have become so needy as if the world revolves around us.' Roxs mocks me, I can feel she is also disappointed though, she is trying so hard to hide it. Well, I've been so distant from mom lately, maybe today I should spend some time with her then later I will go to Zama's place, I miss Lincoln as well.

First things first, I need to find my phone, I go back upstairs I quickly unlock it but to my surprise there is no single text message to wish me a wonderful morning. What's wrong with these men, I understand Rowan and Owen might not be accustomed to all this but Damien as well. I feel so down, I thought three sweet morning messages would be waiting for me.

I head downstairs again, this time my energy is drained and every inch of my being wants to see my men. I find myself wishing that we lived together. I want to see them every minute of every day. I'm really upset, though, they will have to explain why they didn't wish me a good morning. A hug from behind me startles me, I already know it's not them, though I can't help but smile as I turn to look at her.

“Mom.” I hug her tightly. I missed her so much, all my life I've only been with my mom every step of the way. She has always been there to support me with everything. What will happen to her when I start living with my mates, she will be all alone. I find myself getting emotional all of a sudden. I tighten my hug and rest my head on her shoulder.

“Hey what's the matter darling.” She asks, patting my back soothingly.

“I just miss you mom.” I say sobbing, I can't help it. I've become overly emotional these days.

“I miss you too my baby, come let's have some breakfast.” She says, taking my hand and escorting me to the breakfast table. “What happened today, you took a shower before breakfast.” She asks, a smile plastered on her face.

“Well, I…”

She interjects before I can answer. “I know who you did this for, too bad they were so busy today. Damien had a meeting with the pack heads he called to tell me and Rowan and Owen had to go to their realms for a bit.” She breaks it to me, making me sadder and angrier.

“Wow, so they went without letting me know at least.” I ask. Did I do something wrong, I ask myself inwardly? After what happened to me yesterday, I thought that they will be a little concerned on how I slept, but no.

"They thought you would be fast asleep so they didn't want to disturb you." Mom explains.

“It's fine mom.” I say gulping down the piping hot coffee, it burns me, but I hold myself I don't even wince.

“Alright then, I have to go, I will be back in the evening alright. I'm rushing alright.” She says, kissing my cheeks before hurrying out, she leaves me all alone. Being alone makes me so scared all of a sudden, it's like someone is watching me from somewhere. Something doesn't feel right in here.

“Anyone there!” I call out looking around the sitting room, I pause and listen in carefully using my wolf ears, but I don't hear any foreign sound or scent for that matter. But why are my instincts telling me otherwise. I conclude maybe it's because of the experience I had with that damn rogue.

I sigh deeply, look for the keys and head out to meet Zama. My mouth is already healed, that's the good thing about having a wolf.

'At least you appreciated me today.' Roxs says, but I block her, I know she wants to brag. To my disappointment, I don't find Zama home, the house is locked from the outside. Where do I go now, that's when I realize that I need to further my studies, so I can have something to do? I realize that my mates have so many responsibilities as it is. I need a Carrier, a hobby or something.

I walk back to my house feeling so lonely, I sound so needy but why did they leave me alone on a day like this. I'm still a little shaky, at least one of them could have spent the day with me.

'Jeez Ruby, I'm here with you, so please don't worry.' Ruby says in a low tone. she can sense how afraid I am.

'You are right, I'm just worrying for nothing.' I smile as I head back home. The day goes on faster as I do the laundry and clean the house. Occasionally, I look at my phone to see if they texted, but I don't get anything. The only message I get is from my mother asking me to join her for dinner at our favorite restaurant. She explains that she bought a dress for me.

I make sure I don't eat much during the day, I want to have room for food when I meet with mom.

If it's something I love to do is getting ready, and mom knows that. That's why she bought me this elegant dress, I know it's too much for just dinner with mum since its more of a sexy dinner dress with lover, but I don't care, I'm going to get ready and match the dress' elegancy.

I stand in front of my vanity mirror as I style my blonde hair into overflowing and wavy, I let it cascade over my shoulders. Before my make-up I put on the black floor length velvet dress, which has a side slit reaching my mid-thighs. It hugs me in the right places. How I wish my men were here to see me, I bet they would have wanted to tear it off. I miss them so badly, I wonder why they didn't contact me the whole day.

Since its nighttime, I wear some really light make-up to accentuate my looks, I don't apply lipstick, I go with lip balm instead. All in all, I look gorgeous even without make-up. Then I wear my pearl earrings and necklace before having a final glance at myself in the mirror. Right on time, the cab I had requested arrives. In just a short while I get to the restaurant.
