It's been two months since I shared my secret with Siya that I couldn't get pregnant. The day's flow normally as it always does and I slowly pushed back everything which happened two months back and was busy with the events.
He will sometimes make his way into my thoughts but I block those thoughts forcefully because other than hurt nothing will come from it and I am tired of being hurt and I just want to be normal like others.
" Enya!" I hear my name being called and I am brought back from my thoughts.
" Yes, Andre?"
" We have got a project and it's going to be an interracial wedding and we have to make the event in both their cultures." He informed me about the event and its details.
" Woah! So we need to work double for this event because we have to look into two cultures and prepare everything equally?"
"Exactly! So are you ready?" He asked, waiting impatiently for my answer.
" Yes, but where is the venue? Do they have anything in mind about how they like us to manage everything and where?" I inquired and took out my notepad to note down everything about their ideas.
" Ah! Yes, they said they want to have their wedding in Palm Spring which is 100 miles from here and it is a desert but they didn't share any other details."
" Palm spring? Okay! So do they want to meet me to discuss everything?"
" Yes, they wanted that and please tell me a time when you will be free and I will arrange a meeting with them." He said before retrieving his phone from his pocket to set the date and time.
" ummm, maybe tomorrow! Yes, tomorrow is fine with me. Ask them if they are okay with tomorrow. If so then we will discuss everything." I said before getting up from my chair to leave the office. It is already evening and I am tired nowadays, feeling sleepy and weak. I suddenly felt like my head was spinning and I stumbled on my feet.
" Okay, I will inquire about them and let you know…. Woah! Easy Enya." He steadied me and made me sit on the couch and brought me a glass of water.
" It's okay Andre, I am fine!" I said taking the glass from his hand.
" No, you are not fine Enya, how many times did I tell you to not skip meals?" He scolded me, disappointment written all over his face.
" I didn't skip any meals, Andre, it's just I was sitting in my chair for so long that's why I stumbled," I mumbled while taking a sip of water.
" I know you, Enya, so don't lie to me, and let's go."
"Where? I need to go home Andre, I am very sleepy." I said yawning.
" I know but you need to eat first and I am calling Siya. She will join us at our regular place." He told me before leaving my Office.
Ugh, why can't my friends let me sleep peacefully? Hmm, I need to sleep. I whined in my head before leaving my office grumbling.
I and Andre took his car because according to him I can't drive alone feeling dizzy. I fought with him for a total of five minutes before accepting my loss and taking his passenger seat sulking.
" Stop Sulking Enya! It's for the best." He said, rolling his eyes.
" Ugh, stop talking or I will…. I will….." I started but didn't know what to say to him and stopped midway by his laugh.
" Ha hahaha, you don't have anything to retrot me with." Ha laughed some more seeing my face.
"Whatever Andre! Just drive, I am hungry." I grumbled before looking out of the window.
We reached our regular dining place where there will be fewer people. We like our calm and less noisy surroundings while eating and chatting away.
Siya's car was already in the driveway, so we parked our car too and entered the diner. Siya sat at the corner table which is facing the outside that is filled with tall trees. I love forests. It gives me calm and peace.
" Hi! Girlie How are you doing?" Siya greeted me with a hug and gave one to Andre.
" Ask me how she is doing and I will tell you," Andre answered on behalf of me.
" Don't start now Andre please." I gritted out.
" No, let me tell our friend how you are working yourself to death and how you are gonna lose consciousness just before we come here," Andre Explained with distaste before drinking water as he had been tired of giving a speech.
" What is this I am hearing Enya? You promised me that you will take care of yourself." Siya glared at me, narrowing her eyes.
" I swear Siya I have been eating properly and sleeping on time too but I don't know why I have been feeling low these days," I said before slumping on the table with a grumbling stomach.
First confusion passes her face then realization and then surprise but I didn't even know why she is having all these emotions for a second.
" What happened, why are you having all these expressions?" I asked her and at the same time, our food arrived, probably siya ordered our regular.
" Nothing and don't mind me guys I have ordered our regular." She said sheepishly before digging into her food. She ordered a burger and hot dog for me which I love to death.
My mouth salivated seeing my favorite food in front of me and these days I have been eating quite a lot more than normal. I pulled my plate towards me and I was suddenly hit with the smell of sausage which made me nauseous instantly and I ran to the bathroom holding my mouth so I couldn't spill whatever was on the floor.
I heaved whatever food I had for lunch, tears streaming down my face and my mouth felt so gross that I wanted to puke my guts out. The sausage smell is still lingering in my nose making me nauseous again.
I heard footsteps and the door being opened and I heard Siya's voice asking what happened.
" Hey, What happened? Why did you run! Are you alright?"
" it's just I was hit by some smell which made me want to puke," I said, gurgling my mouth with water trying to remove that gross taste from my mouth.
" What smell? We didn't smell anything gross, Enya." She said, confused.
" I think the sausage was rotten or something. It made me feel nauseated." I wiped my mouth and took the candy she offered.
" Enya?" her voice held guilt and concern written all over her face.
" Hmm?"
" Please don't get angry but I think we should go somewhere." She said not looking me in the eye.
" Where is it? And why would I get angry silly." I said laughing at her.
" After hearing what I would say, you will surely get angry when I say where I am taking you."
" No, silly I won't! just tell me. What is it?"
" I think we should go to the pharmacy, Enya."
" pharmacy? Why? I am alright Siya, it's just the sausage is not cooked properly or something else." I said leaving the bathroom. Why did she ask me to go to the Pharmacy?
" Sausage is alright Enya, Andre has downed the entire hotdog and we didn't even smell anything which will make us puke." She said being impatient.
" Ugh, then what is it Siya? Let me understand properly."
" Then, let's go and don't ask any questions. Okay?" She asked determination crossing her features.
" yeah! Okay." I don't know what is running inside her head but I have to go and see what she is talking about. Maybe I have a stomach bug or something. Nothing is going to happen if I get checked up.
We left the diner after saying goodbye to Andre, who didn't ask any questions. I hope everything is alright with me.
