Casita! We need the shrimp and the pasta on table 14. The chef yelled as the door was kicked open by a young lady of about 22 years, with freckled nose, long brown hair and average height as she yelled back,
It is on its way. Table 14, served and satisfied. She said smiling at the occupants as she dropped their dishes in front of them and said,
Enjoy your lunch! Please do not forget to tip me, for good services. She said wriggling her eyebrows as one of the waitress said,
Casita! don’t tell me, you are asking for birbe from the innocent people. Do not rob them off their moeny, with your charming smile and beautiful looks. Her best friend Josie said as Casita quickly pocketed the tip inside her jeans and took the tray, as she peered in it.
All she could see was a flour covered, freckled nose girl with big green eyes, and a small pinkish mouth swollen from chewing her lips all day.
Walking to Josie, as she placed the tray on her head, jokingly, she said,
Have you forgotten your Mi Amor has some bills to pay. Maybe she would stop robbing if her best friend who she happens to take as her twin sister, actually helps her. Honestly, my heart is broken, mi vida. Casita said courtesying mockingly as she placed her headphones back in her ears and walked to the back room, where the heavy cooking was taking place.
Casita! What did the boss say about listening to your headphones at work? One of the waitress yelled yanking her headphones off her ears, as Casita pouted and replied,
Casita does what she wants when she wants it. She doesnt take order from anyone. Casita is free! She said twirling round, with her hands spread as one of the male cooks said,
Hey Casita, Casita will soon get fired by boss, since she doesn’t want to take orders from boss.
Ha-ha, very funny, Joel. This is the part where I pretend it to be funny. She said rolling her eyes, as she dropped her tray, carrying some flour, from the baker’s table when he wasn’t looking and plastered it on her face, making her face to be whiter as she tiptoed slowly to the back of a female cook, stirring something, on the gas.
She stood on her tiptoes , and spread her hands wide as she wanted to scare the hell out of her. She was about to open her mouth when a voice said,
“Hey, you are here.” Luisa said as she stirred the content of her pot. She didn’t even look back, once yet she knew who it was. Casita quickly slumped to her normal position, as she unconsciously placed the headphone back on her ears but left one out of place so she could still pay attention to the scenario.
“Yup.” Casita said nodding her head to the music, as she was listening to it, her head bobbling up and down.
“And let me guess, We don’t talk about Bruno by Encanto, as usual.” Josie said entering the kitchen with an empty tray.
“Yeah, I know right. I so much love the songs especially the part of the dead goldfish. You guys did watch it right? Casita said as Josie and Luisa glanced at each other and looked away, their eyes travelling elsewhere.
You have got to be kidding me, Luisa you are even in the movie. Your name is the name of a character and I thought you would like to watch it. Casita said a bit heartbroken as Josie said, slowly
The thing is you have kinda, maybe, already told us the film a 100 times lately, and the movie…is not a movie…it is a cartoon. We are all adults. She said politely as Casita rolled her eyes and said,
Whatever. You two are no fun today. Any hoot, is the manager in?” Casita asked as she switched off the music and dropped the headphones in her bag that was hung on a old rusty door knob.
“Yeah, she is, as usual. Besides I never got to ask you since we have all been so hectic today. You came early today, I am impressed. What happened.” Josie said wearing a mischievous grin as Luisa shook her head and brought down her pot down from the gas cylinder before she started adding the shredded meats.
‘You want to know what happened, okay I will tell you what happened. Stupid alarm clock, that is what happened. So who between the two of you set it the day before and didn’t tell me.” Casita said, her eyes darting between the both of them, her mouth set in a little pout, as her nose in flared with each short breaths that she took. Meanwhile Luisa and Josie both looked away whistling the song, we don’t talk about Bruno!
Josie started clearing the part of the table she was standing at, while Luisa kept on stirring the contents. Casita looked at this two conspirators and badly wanted to squeeze their neck, but decided to hold her self in check.
There was absolutely no need getting angry now, when she could do so, later. It actually didn’t make sense, but she didn’t care.
“I am waiting…... okay I promise not to blow up.” Casita said rolling her eyes.
“It was Luisa.” Josie said hurriedly, pointing at her, who stopped stirring, what she was stirring as her mouth dropped open in shock. She was shocked by how quickly she had been betrayed.
“Wow, thanks a lot for having my back. Luisa said, pointing her stirring spoon at Josie who hid behind Casita.
See Casita, we just didn’t want you to be scolded by the manager again. That is why we set the alarm, so that you would have sufficient time to prepare and come.” Luisa said as she faced her.
“Aww, that is so sweet… although it cost me my nice long sleep, and the fact that I had exercise when I was running to meet the bus, I won’t say anything. I am happy, that was nice of you.” Casita said smiling, surprising the both of them. That was definitely not the reaction that she was expecting at all.
“Thanks.” Luisa said breathing a deep sigh of relief, as they hugged.
“Group hug.” Josie said coming to join them but was stopped by the both of them.
“Nuh huh, not today, Josie.” Luisa said as they disengaged.
“I hate you guys.” She said pouting, as she started sulking.
“We hate you too.” Casita said, blowing her a kiss, as her tray was filled up with food, with the chef yelling out,
Casita! The food ordered by table 45 is ready.
Coming! Casita yelled as she pecked Josie on her cheeks before she went out to take orders. And Josie went back to her duties leaving Luisa in the kitchen to continue her duties.
“A simple bye, would have been nice.” Luisa said to herself as she went back to her duties.
Casita was still taking order when she heard the grumpy subordinate say,
Casita! The boss is looking for you. Casita rolled her eyes and said,
Sure thing, Monsieur Mariano. She said giving him a mock salute before she turned back to the table she was working on.
You guys, should please excuse me, exercise a little patience. I will be back to take your orders. She said to the couple before her who nodded their heads and she went to the office.
Good morning ma. She said, standing at the door as the boss merely motioned for her to come and went back to her office.
She could see her boss sitting down smoking as smoke filled the room. The smell intoxicated her, turning her stomach as her eyes were blurry but she didn’t cough out. She just seized her breath so that she won’t have to smell it as she waited for her boss to tell her the reason why she called her.
She crossed her fingers at her back hoping that her boss hasn’t decided to lay her off, already. That would be so bad and terrible unfortunate. She needed this job at all costs.
Didn’t you hear what I said? The boss said in a raspy voice bringing Casita back from her dream world as she blinked repeatedly.
She was gasping for air, so she inhaled and once again the smoke filled her nostrils choking her, upsetting her stomach as she coughed and covered her face.
Her boss looked at her, with a raised eyebrow and said,
What you got a lung condition or something? Behaving like you have never seen smoke before in your life. I told you to get prepared. You are developing a special package to the company of Beauty Models Agency Corps. To the beautiful star Mirabella.
Meet Anthony in the store room. He will get you the things for deliverance. Do not mess it up. Deliver it to the 11th floor, in the private suite of Mirabella Rodriquez. Am I clear?
Yes, ma! Casita said nodding her head eagerly, as she couldn’t believe her ears. She was going to catch a glimpse of her star Mirabella. Miss Mirabella Rodriquez, the model she has seen in magazines and news station on TV, the ever brooding and non-smiling girl ever. Always on a frown and never happy, harsh and wicked as ever.
She couldn’t believe her luck. She was going to see her and up close.
She was sprinting with glee. She quickly hugged her boss who was astonished at the behavior before rushing off as if she was changed.
Teenagers… such a strange set of hormones. Her boss said shaking her head as she took in another inhale of her cigarette.
Meanwhile Casita on the other hand saw Josie cleaning the counter and pulled her towards the kitchen where Luisa was cooking as usual and screamed for joy.
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH…..AND I’M OUT. Casita said breathing hard.
Both Josie and Luisa were confused seeing this side of Casita. What the hell was happening? Is this an act because she was getting good at this.
What the hell is going with you? Josie said chuckling as Randy gasped for breath before saying.
Guess who is going to be opportune to go to the Beauty Models Agency’s Corps this morning. She said giggling as Luisa and Josie looked at her in shock and at themselves before saying in unison.
No Way! They yelled out in shock.
Yes, way! Casita said confirming it as she jumped on Luisa who was still shocked but manged to hug her back. After Luisa she hugs Josie too, tightly before they disengaged.
Guys, I have to go get prepared, now. I will have to meet Anthony. I will tell you everything when I get back. Casita said as she rushed out leaving a very confused and a very happy Luisa and Josie.
After getting the packages from Anthony, she stepped out of the restaurant, breathing in the chilly air, as a limousine pulled in front of her and stopped. Just then, a bodyguard stepped out of the front side and said,
Excuse me, are you Casita? He asked as Casita nodded her head, wondering what was happening, as the guard quickly covered her nose with a handkerchief and she inhaled it, before falling unconscious as the other guards helped to drop her inside the limousine, before they got in and drove off, before anyone could say anything.
