Chapter 18: Chapter Eighteen
Cirdan:
Iris is trying to act like Finn giving her the silent treatment was not getting to her but she could not hide it from me, and I was willing to give the boy to get over his hurt feeling and his little crush on my mate but he still was being stupid about it all and so I decided to do something about it.
Something which I and Finn would keep between we so I will not be in trouble with Iris.
“You called?” Finn said as a greeting as he entered the tour guide's office where I was waiting for him.
“And look at that, he really did come, here I thought you would choose not to since you are also mad at me.” I answered with a smile, and I watched as his eyes narrowed. Good, now I would hit the point into him that just because he might be my mate’s best friend, it did not mean that could be mean to her and I will let him get away with it. “I would need a reply to that question.”
“Screw you.” Finn leaned close to me, his face serious and then he smiled. “How is that for an answer?”
“We really don’t deserve this treatment from you, especially Iris.”
“And she was the one who forgot to ask me, I did know that you are her messenger along with being her mate.” Finn returned.
I nodded. “I can be anything she wants me to be for her. That is why I am her mate.” I watched was watching Finn closely as I said the words and I noticed his anger, not jealousy. “But the thing is you don’t like Iris that way, I just cannot understand why you are angry.”
“You would not understand.” Finn sighed as he sat down.
“You are right, whatever you are angry about, I would not understand it and even if I did, I wouldn’t be able to correct it. You need to sort it out with your friend. The way you have been treating her is not nice and you know it.”
“And here you go being her spokesperson once more.”
“She doesn’t know that I am talking about this with you Finn.” I said seriously. “Besides, I suggest that whatever you do decide to do that you do it with the thought that she will one day rule over your race. You would not like me to tell her mother would you?” I threatened and when Finn glared at me, this time his cheeks were spotty red just like his hair, I relaxed back into my seat knowing that this issue between my mate and him has ended.
“Are you threatening me?” He asked.
“Of course not, I mean I am not forcing you to do anything, I just suggested that I will tell my future mother-in-law that one of her subjects was making her daughter sad.”
“Where is she?” Finn asked standing up.
“In her room.” I smiled as Finn walked out. And that issue was solved.

Iris:
Someone was knocking on my door, something which usually doesn’t happen.
“I’m coming.” I responded even as my mind raced to think of scenarios why someone would be knocking. When I opened the door, I am pleasantly surprised to see that my scenarios were wrong as Finn stood on the other side.
“Hello Iris.”
‘Hello Finn.” I responded, “Do you want to come in?” I asked and he nodded, he followed me into the room.
“I came to say that everything between us is cool…” He started and I frowned at him.
“No, they are not.” I cut in and he paused before he turned to look at me.
“What do you mean that it is not, I was angry with you, and now I am no longer angry, so we are even.”
“No, we are not even close to being even, you were angry with me, and I did not know the reason and because of the way you treated me when you would have just come to tell me what I did wrong so I would fix it, you decided to give me the shoulder so while you were angry with me, I started my anger with you.” I explained to Finn, folding my hand across my chest, even though I was glad that he was not angry with me, I was unwilling to let him get away with his actions for the past few days.
“You have got to be kidding me.” Finn sighed but I bit my cheek. I was not going to laugh and ruin everything.
“I am not smiling dude.” I returned.
“Okay, now that I apologized, what’s the next step…”
“One, I didn’t hear any apology from you, and two the next step would be waiting until I feel inclined to accept your apology.” I returned and he shook his head at me.
“I did not feel inclined, your mate made me see things from his perspective, either I make peace with you, or I make an enemy of him.”
Cirdan must have gotten tired of my downcast self. “He really got his mate’s best wishes at heart.” I smiled but Finn scoffed and rolled his eyes.
“Your mate threatened me, and you see that as a romantic gesture?”
“Because you currently mean nothing to me then yes.” I retorted and Finn winced.
“I reacted that way because you have to be aware that I had a lot of friends I hanged out with before you came, I dropped all of them to make you feel less lonely and in return you never appreciated my sacrifice, you all but told me plainly with your words that now that you had a mate, I could go back to my life, and I was not needed where you are again.”
“You know that I didn’t mean that…” I frowned at Finn's words, and he just folded his arms while he stared at me. “I really didn’t. If I said something relating to that you should know I didn’t mean it. Who would be my friend when Cirdan was busy, who was going to take my side when I quarrel with him.”
“Can I go back the door and we can forget this conversation?” Finn asked.
“You are my friend and a friend for life, you cannot escape.” I stuck my tongue at out him.
“Oh, I will if you plan to use me as your girlfriend who gossips about boys then you bet that I would escape at the slightest chance I got.” Finn fires back.
We stared at each other in silence then I went and hug him. “I missed talking to you. Let’s not have a misunderstanding again.” I stated.
“Yes, let’s not.”
When his arms dropped, I smiled. “Speaking of gist’s…”
“If this is about your mate, I am walking away.”
”It isn’t would you calm down.” I rolled my eyes at Finn. “I wanted to ask if it was possible to feel haunted.”
