Chapter 12: Chapter Twelve
Iris:
The lights were on too blight and my body felt like it had been used as a piñata in the game played by Mexican children on earth. My tongue felt dry as it stuck to the top of my mouth and the noise was alarmingly headbanging.
My head was seriously banging, and people were quarreling. If I had strength, I would have performed a nasty spell on them just to get them back, they should know better than to argue in the room of someone weak. And assuming that the energy I am getting was all off, this was not my room, and I would guess I was in the healing wing of the school.
I remembered falling and I hate that I do, I can just imagine what those who hated the news that my mother was queen would be saying now. That I am acting like a weak princess falling and fainting for no good reason.
Although the leaders here have to be the strongest of their race maybe I am wrong. Only a weak princess existed in Earth nor Faery, after all here, your blood determines where you are in the power scale, and it also helps makes you stronger. On earth your blood doesn’t make you stronger, it is just there with no uses.
“Will you keep quiet?” I snapped when a glass shattered on the floor while a female voice screamed.
“Iris…” The voices called as I was gathered, at least they blocked out the light so there was one good reason why they were there. I could open my eyes now and that I did slowly and when I could see without pinching my eyes much, Cirdan face was very close to mine.
“How are you?” He asked, his eyes were looking bloodshot and although he was still in the same clothes that he was in when we were in class, the clothes state was wrinkled and rumpled. A look which someone has never seen on him before or at least I know that I haven’t.
I cleared my throat and Finn was the first to guess what I need, he hurried to get some water and brought it to me and before he could get to me, My father snatched the water from him and gave it to me.
As soon as I drank my fill, I opened my eyes to look at Cirdan. “What are you doing here?”
“Is that really important right now?” Cirdan griped. “Do you know why you fainted?”
“I was not feeling fine for some days now, I could barely breathe without pain, did the nurse heal me?”
“Your mother did.” My father replied, I tilted my head to look at him well, I had assumed that he was my father because he was the only strange adult male that was around, but I needed to be certain.
“Father?” I asked.
“Iristendale. Must you always have accidents in school?”
“You are saying it like I am the one who loves having accidents in school.” I pouted.
“This is clearly not her fault.” Cirdan gritted his teeth. “I am going to kill them.”
“Please, we know that if it is them, it is partly your fault since one of them…” I started but Cirdan cuts me short.
“Is obsessed with me, nothing more. That is more reason why you should have let me explain since, this distance between us was never needed,” Cirdan explained, and he almost touched me, but he curled his hands and shoved them back into his pocket.
“What do you mean boy, who is responsible?” father asked Cirdan, and my eyes widened, Father will not let go of the issue. He was going to get to the root of the problem and Cirdan just placed suspicion on girls who were not completely innocent but still, I feel like they would not have been the ones who did this. I was likely to attribute it to stress but my father will not.
“Soul sisters…” Cirdan responded. “A group of three girls who are…”
“At step thirty-one, my kingdom was looking forward to recruiting them when they are done with school…” My mother mused and my father shook his head at her.
“You can have them when I am done disciplining them for what they did to our daughter.
“What makes you think they are the ones responsible?” I butted in but my father was already walking away and yelling for the principal as he went.
“Get some rest.” Finn stated as he tucked my blanket around me. he was right though because I was barely keeping my eyes opened and I was tired.
“Sweet dreams love.” Cirdan added as they walked away. I knew they were going to wreak havoc on the soul sister and even though those girls were not nice, I could not help but feel sorry for them.
They did not deserve the hurricane that was heading their way in the shape of my concerned powerful father.
*********
Cirdan:
After ensuring that Iris was sleeping, I moved after the queen who followed Iris's father as they started shouting for the Principal’s name. The man was wearing a disguise. I could not ponder on what identity he could possibly have because my brain was still playing catch up on how to function properly. When Iris dropped on the floor, I felt it in every single one of my extremities…I have never felt so scared in my life. This was why I wanted to activate the bond between us, but it was a private moment, and I could not do that in the presence of her family. I should give her that respect so I had to shove my hand back into my pocket and act like I did not see the hurt in her eyes when she saw that I refused to touch her but I let Viana touch her.
Viana, that girl is going to suffer, me and Finn caught up with her parents who were breathing down the principal’s neck, the poor man was sweating heavily, trying to stutter that he could not expel the girls, not without calling their families and interrogating them.
“Freddy, if you like your life the way it is, I suggest that you get their parents on the phone right now because you are certainly wasting much time.” Iris's mother threatened and the principal gulped loudly as he hurried to do what she said.
“You boy.” Her father pointed at me. “Take me to them.”
“Sir, they might not be the ones responsible, after all, let’s not overlook the fact that everybody is innocent until proven guilty.” Finn said and I turned to look at him.
In what world was he existing right now, did he not know that the opposite is the case when it comes to those girls or was I the only one who saw them for the evil which they truly are.
“They have proven themselves guilty when they played that prank on her, in case you have forgotten.” I stated.
“What prank?” Iris parents asked together.
“It was just hazing the new student, we all passed through it.” Finn said weakly but I glared at him.
“She was attacked by a real venomous snake and was videoed in her underwear, if I had not taken control of the situation, it would be more than just a hazing event and you know it.”
“Videoed in her underwear…” Her father forced out, he was starting to show his aura which meant he was getting out of control, if his disguise was not working well. The first wave of aura that whipped out of him, sent me and Finn bowing our heads automatically. Her father was just as powerful as her mother if not more than.
“Show me these girls.” he thundered and this time, Finn rushed to show him while I turned to look at iris mother who has been a little too quiet, it was to the sight of her going through the Principal’s brain to get the parents here.
I followed the trail of her father, glad that it was during dinner, so everybody was going to witness the scene.
I got there just as Iris father was insulted.
