Chapter 85

Chapter 85

When I woke up, Levi was right beside me.

I was lying in his arms, and he was gently patting my back.

I must have moved a little, and he thought I wasn't sleeping well.

His hand was so warm that I didn't want to wake up. I really wanted to keep pretending to be asleep.

I tried hard to remember what happened last night. When I get drunk, I tend to black out and say things I shouldn't say.

I only remembered that I kept complaining to him, saying he didn't love me.

Words like "love me" - I really can't say them without some alcohol.

Like right now, I just wanted to crawl into a hole. I must have been so pathetic, probably looking so humble when I asked him.

I felt hotter and hotter, and my stomach started growling.

When Levi's hand landed on my waist again, I moved it away.

"No need, I'm awake."

My face turned red. I felt the atmosphere was too awkward.

I looked down and realized he must have changed me into pajamas.

"Hungry?"

"Yeah, let's get up and eat."

I deliberately avoided looking at him, threw off the covers, and got out of bed.

Then I rushed into the bathroom in a panic, feeling too embarrassed for some reason.

I must have looked ridiculous when I was drunk. I wondered if he found me annoying.

Levi went to another bathroom to wash up.

We came out almost at the same time and ran into each other.

"Did you not sleep well?" I noticed he had dark circles under his eyes.

"Didn't sleep all night."

He said it casually, as if staying up all night was no big deal.

Was it because he stayed up taking care of me?

I must have slept properly last night. Even though I drank too much, I didn't feel bad at all, just a bit down.

"The matter has been investigated."

Levi handed me his phone and let me look for myself.

I was confused about what he was talking about, but when images of Michael with another woman appeared on the screen, it suddenly clicked.

So he had found out who Michael was cheating with.

"What about Jessa and him then?"

Levi and I went downstairs together, talking as we walked.

"Pretty much what she described herself."

I opened another video, the one of Jessa following Michael.

"Didn't they say her phone was broken, and the hotel surveillance must be gone too?"

"She didn't even know the video was backed up to the cloud."

I see. This was accidentally saved evidence. Jessa must have clicked "agree" when she set up cloud backup.

She thought there was no evidence since her phone was broken, but Levi logged into the backend and found the video she recorded in the cloud.

So now Levi had specific information about who Michael was cheating with, plus the video Jessa took of him going to a hotel.

This was a huge plot twist!

But my sixth sense was pretty accurate - I always felt Jessa was innocent this time.

"What are you going to do?"

I was curious how Levi would handle this, with an ex-lover on one side and a brother-in-law on the other.

"I've already made the information public."

Levi sat lazily on the sofa. The sun had risen, and sunlight fell on his hair, making it shine.

"Just like that, made it public?"

I handed his phone back to him.

"Yeah."

Once it's public, Michael will be pushed into the spotlight and will definitely be furious.

His image as a good husband will collapse, and the Morgan family will be talked about for having an unfaithful son-in-law.

Especially Cleo - what will she do?

They still have Hayden. Will they get divorced?

Because I was disappointed in Levi before, I had considered divorce. I know that feeling too well - it's not hard for Michael, but very difficult for Cleo.

She cares so much about her face, and now she doesn't even have a fig leaf to hide behind.

"You should have discussed it with your sister first."

Levi closed his eyes. "Unless something hits her where it hurts, she'll never wake up."

"Did you know all along?"

I suspected Levi had known for a while that something was wrong with Michael and knew about their divorce plans. Cleo had been vague before, not wanting Levi to know.

"Yeah."

No wonder he gave me that feeling of having everything under control. That day when he told Jessa to go home first, it wasn't just temporary comfort - he already had it all figured out.

And here I was, upset about the whole thing.

"You'd better explain things clearly to Cleo, don't let her blame you."

"It doesn't matter."

That's how Levi always is. He does what he thinks is right, and whether others understand or not, he doesn't care.

I thought about it. "How about I go to Grandpa's place then?"

"No need."

He's decided to shoulder this whole thing himself. No matter who questions him, he'll face it alone.

Michael will definitely come after him, and so will Cleo.

I'm really worried they'll say terrible things to him.

"You're really willing to go all out for her," I muttered quietly.

Levi opened his eyes and looked at me. "I'm just revealing the truth. If everyone keeps being deceived, no one will be happy."

For a moment, I couldn't tell if Levi was doing this for Jessa or for Cleo.

Now that things had taken another turn, my heart felt uneasy.

To clear himself, Michael had framed Jessa for picking up Hayden, and then, afraid Jessa would expose him, he didn't hesitate to spread rumors about himself and Jessa.

This man is really ruthless. If the facts weren't right in front of me, I really wouldn't believe it.

He's kind of in the same field as me, but after becoming the Morgan family's son-in-law, the Morgan family gave him part of their business to run, so he stopped doing jewelry.

At that alumni reunion, he was invited. That was when Cleo and I had that unpleasant incident.

"Mr. and Mrs. Morgan, breakfast is ready."

Indigo called us to eat, and we temporarily pulled ourselves away from this matter. I expected there would be plenty of troubles in the next few days.

I had just taken a sip when Faye video called.

During these days when Celestia wasn't home, she video-called us almost every day using Faye's phone.

"Good morning."

Faye and I waved at each other, and I took another bite.

"Blair, good morning."

"Where's Celestia? Aren't you together?"

Faye looked around. "Blair, it's just me today. I have something to tell you, but I don't know if I should."

I put down my spoon and held the phone with both hands.

"Go ahead."

"Grandfather is sick. He was sent to the hospital early this morning."

Aiden is sick!

He must have gotten sick from anger after seeing the news about Michael's affair...

Levi put down his bowl and chopsticks and stood up.

I had thought about Jessa and Cleo, but never expected Aiden to collapse first. He's old and can't handle such a big shock.

"I'll go to the hospital right away. You just take care of Celestia at home. I'll come get you both once I'm done."

I hung up the video call, my mind in chaos.

"Are you going to the hospital too?" I asked Levi.

He looked at his watch. "I have a meeting today. You go first."
