Chapter 9

“He's here."

Said Martha in a depressed tone as she sauntered into my room. I flashed my window a sinister smile while my eyes stared at the birds across. Even though my back faced her, I knew she was worried. Worried for what I might do to my mate. It made me wonder why my best friend suddenly changed. For centuries we've fought wars, killed mates without any iota of feelings. But this time, she was different. Interested in me softening.

“I know there's a devilish smile on your face but whatever you're going to do," she pursed her lips. "Don't regret it."

I turned to her direction, holding her gaze to study what was really running through her mind. In the end, it only seemed to confuse me. There she was, standing proud in her stunning green and black uniform. Her white hair was packed in a ponytail. Her blues eyes reflected my outfit, and I couldn't help but admire myself. A dazzling green medieval gown complemented my necklace and stunning golden-brown curls.

“You know," I stated as I took slow steps towards her. "I've been thinking about my mother's journal recently, Rose." I paused as I felt an exciting sensation spiral across my body. It was happening again. My body was gradually becoming restless due to his presence. My palms curled into a fist trying to force a renewed hatred to ignite.

“All her life, the only thing she regretted badly was having my father as her mate. But this time, I'm not going to be a victim of that curse." I stood inches away from her.

“I'm going to make Zeus regret every second he spends with me. I'm going to root so deep in his heart that whenever he thinks of me, it's nothing but pain. I'm going to make sure he curses the day he ever met me. Till he rejects me."

I almost growled before storming out. The sound of my heels echoed across the hallway as I walked briefly to my throne room.

As the twin doors opened, I was instantly greeted by nothing but the scent of my mate and tension of my servants. But today was different, rather than take delight in my servants fears I was focused on my mate.

There he was, before my throne in a dashing blue shirt complemented with a pair of matching Jean and sneaker. His smile as bright as the morning ray. His eyes expressing that hope I last saw and his lips, still as sexy as ever.

I couldn't feel my feet, but I knew I was walking. Touring towards my lover instead of my throne seat. It felt like I was struck in a trance from the excitement coursing my veins like blood. Where only both of us existed, amongst beautiful flowers, enchanted by each other's presence.

As a smile tried to make its way to my face, I quickly shook those feelings off. I was going to stick to my goal no matter what. And so, without further thoughts, I elegantly trailed to my throne seat with an icy look.

Immediately I sat, a manservant came rushing to me. Lowering himself so he was my foot stool. And with so much pleasure, I rested my left heel against his back.

Another manservant came rushing to my side with his head bowed. Holding a tray that beheld a cup of blood. And then my twin doors opened, for Martha to join us. She took an elegant stride towards my other side with a stern face.

My gaze finally returned to Zeus, and it took every ounce of energy in me not to get lost in those Hazel eyes of his. He retained his bright countenance as if he weren't bothered by any of my charade. He was the only man in the room without a pint of fear in him.

“You're early." I quoted sternly. His smile deepened and my palms curled against my cloth. I loved his smile, but I hated it at the same time. I wanted him to march forward and just take me away from this seat. Another part of me deeply craved to see him consumed by sadness, in his own tears.

“I'll only ask you three times." I continued in my cold tone, this time I held his gaze without getting lost in them.

“Do you accept me as your mate?"

“Yes," he affirmed almost immediately, and I flashed him a sinister smile before raising my right hand. I flipped my thumb against my index finger and immediately, Tara the punisher trooped in with her squad of ten. Each of them carried various torture equipment and their reddish-black eyes hungrily reviewed my mate. Yet Zeus remained calm.

Five of them lurched towards him. One of them ripped his shirt out revealing his bare chest. The others briskly chained his neck, ankles and wrist with silver connected to batteries. Tara went behind his back holding a long array of silver wires whip.

“On your knees," Tara ordered in a deadly tone and Zeus obeyed with his smile still intact. My body began to shudder with new wave of excitement, I was definitely going to enjoy seeing him writhe in pain.

She stretched her hand upwards, her eyes blooming with so much lust. In one mighty whip lash, his skin tore away, blood sputtered across the floor like rain. High voltage spiraled across him from the chains, yet he didn't grunt, neither did he waver. His smile still remained. She continued for few more rounds yet my mate refused to break.

I raised my hand signaling her to stop. Rather than enjoy the gory scenery I was irritated to the core. This wasn't what I wanted to see.

“Do you accept me?" I asked in an infuriated tone. He took in deep breaths before looking me in the eye.

“Yes!" He blared. I raised my hand again, flipping my fingers. Tara nodded while another set of her squad trooped in with red hot long rods and a large pot containing hot water.

They didn't even wait a second before placing the pot before him. The rest positioned themselves behind him, ready to Pierce him with their rods. Yet my mate still retained his smile. On the punisher's call, they readily thrust their rods slowly through his back.

His teeth gnashed against each other, trying to hold his mouth from grunting in pain. They continued to press through slowly till the rods peeked out from his chest and stomach. His muscles contracted and his fingers struggled to fight the pain, his breaths came out unsteady as sweats broke out on his skin. But The Punisher wasn't done yet. She pressed his head into the steaming water before him.

And after long minutes of repeating the same cycle, I stopped them. Not because I was tired but perhaps, I wasn't enjoying it. He was going through so much pain and yet those eyes still remained the same, his bruised lips still maintained his smile and somehow, it affected me.

I gulped down my saliva before letting the words roll out.

“Do you accept me?"

“Yes!" He pitched on a louder note, startling the guards around. "I accept you Green! I accept you as my mate!" He affirmed. My eyes almost widened from his resolve. It made me wonder, why this man still chose to yield to our mate bond.

“Lock him up and give him the highest form of punishment all day long." I declared with my eyes across the floor my mate's blood decorated. In a strange way, rather than lust after it, it made me depressed. I glanced at him one last time before he was dragged out of the room. In the end, I was still attracted to that werewolf.

I heaved a sigh.

“Everyone get out," I commanded. "Martha you're not excluded." I added.

“I know,” she whispered before trooping out alongside the others. Once the doors shut against each other, I heaved another sigh rubbing my forehead slowly. He was having an influence over me. This wasn't me, restless over a mere man. But I had to accept the ugly truth, he was no mere man, he was my mate. One I should have killed rather than feel sorry for.

The twin doors opened again.

“I said I need to be alone!!" I barked almost immediately at the guard.

“Forgive me, Lady Green,” she stammered. "Lilith is here."

I took a deep breath.

“Tell her I'll join her in a few minutes and send someone to come clean this mess up," I ordered.

“Yes, my lady,” she answered sharply before exiting. I heaved another sigh, wondering how long I was going to have to live with Zeus scent or the tingling sensation. If only I could kill him.

I climbed down from my seat, walking elegantly out of my room and down the stairs leading outdoors where the sun shone brightly. My eyes darted to a canopy where a brown-haired lady, Lilith was seated, treating herself to fruit salad. I smiled before striding towards her.

“My my..." She donned a bright smile as she gestured. "And here comes our beautiful Queen."

I eyed her off before relaxing to a chair opposite hers. Her brown eyes were certainly lovely, but one would be a fool to trust them. The Witch was just as sinister as a snake itself.

“Care for some?" She offered her plate, but I wriggled my head.

“Alright," she nodded her head as if she were listening to a song in her head.

“So, I heard you killed Rila. And yes! Everyone seems to be in a panic state ever since you've threatened to declare war against the other communities." She paused to munch on her strawberry.

“Gosh it's so disgusting. Now everyone has to prepare for battle, no more fun."

“Why don't you quit your whining and let's get to business, shall we?" I heaved a light sigh while our eyes bonded.

“Let me guess," a stern expression dawned on her face. "You've decided to attack the Witches community first."

“Indeed." I affirmed. "The Witches will be a problem for me if I don't handle them quickly."

“You know, there's still a chance Vera might hand you the Witches gem."

“We both know that's a fallacy. Vera is one too foolish to think on her own. She's always following behind the shadows of Eren and Damian." I retorted. "It's so pathetic!"

“I agree." She nodded. "So, you want me to betray my kind just for you to win. We've been friends for centuries, but you do realize I'm the second in command, what makes you think I'd betray my community?"

I donned a sinister smile.

“Lilith, we both know that whatever you do for me is always because it's for your own selfish interest." I replied.

“And in this case, if you help me out, this will be your best chance to be the new Regent. You won't be sidelined as the second in command. Think about the magnanimous amount of power you would control over covens." I paused as her eyes expressed a profound lust.

“The choice is yours. Join me and be the new Regent or choose Vera's side and kiss your Regent dreams goodbye."

She chuckled.

“You really checkmated me from the start huh."

My smile deepened.

“The Witches gem is in Vera's Coven. The Oasis Haven Coven is located in Krixgard and at the moment, Vera's major forces are Witches from different Covens just to stop you.

You should expect an army of hundred at least. And Knowing Vera for her foolishness, she would definitely go all out at you and leave the Coven house completely defenseless.

The Witches gem is just below the Coven House of Oasis Haven, one can only reach there through the tunnel behind the house. And you should also know one thing, Vera would definitely put a spell blocking Vampires from entering the tunnel. I suggest you use a werewolf you trust to complete the task.

This is all I have at the moment."

Her lips finally sealed.

“This is more than enough." I nodded already shuddering in excitement at the thought of defeating Vera.

“Do you have a Werewolf you can trust? Because I know you're not very fond of Werewolves,” she queried sharply. I donned my sinister smile again as my thoughts raced to only one person.

She nodded.

“You know, you never really told my what this dream of yours actually is. I'm still confused why you need these powerful artifacts."

I held her gaze as my smile gradually faded.

“You'll know at the right time. At the moment, I have a job for a Werewolf." My smile returned again.

“You may take your leave now."

I mumbled while excitement coursed throughout my body from my sinister thoughts
