Chapter 30: Six-Pack Abs

Riding a sport motorcycle while wearing a knee-length dress like this was truly troublesome. No matter how many times I pulled it down, the fabric kept riding up again.

Several times, I caught men glancing in my direction. I even heard a motorcyclist whistle as he passed by us.

Suddenly, the motorcycle we were riding came to a stop.

“Why did you stop?”

“Get off.”

His tone was flat, without any explanation.

I followed his order with a confused expression. “What did I do wrong?”

Kenn did not answer. He simply took off his leather jacket and held it out to me.

His gaze remained straight ahead, not a hint of expression on his face.

“Put this on,” he said shortly. After that, he added, “No arguing. Unless you want to walk home.”

I took the jacket with a pout. How cruel of him to threaten me like that. Even though his intention was clearly good, his way of doing it was still annoying.

I put the jacket on. It was extremely big on me. My hands were almost swallowed by it, and the length of the jacket covered the back of my body. At least now, part of my body was more covered.

“Get on.”

One word. Nothing more.

I could only comply while snorting in annoyance. I got back on the motorcycle and held onto his waist. Kenn immediately started the engine without waiting for me to be ready. My body lurched forward and slammed into his back.

“That hurts, Kenn,” I protested, hitting his shoulder.

Kenn did not turn around. “Hold on properly.”

That was all.

“It looks like it’s going to rain. I have to speed up,” he added briefly.

And sure enough, a few minutes later the rain poured down heavily. I held on to his waist. The white T-shirt Kenn was wearing was immediately soaked by the rain. I tightened my embrace, hoping I could warm his body at least a little. After all, he had lent me his jacket.

Kenn did not react. He did not pull away, nor did he scold me. His body actually grew stiffer, his focus entirely on the road.

I leaned against his athletic back. Comfortable. The scent of his perfume was still clearly there, mixed with the smell of rain. Fresh and cold, just like its owner.

All along the way, that scent accompanied me. A fragrance that felt different and expensive. Clearly not a cheap perfume like the ones I usually saw on store shelves.

And somehow, my curiosity stirred.

Without realizing it, my hand wandered to Kenn’s stomach. And honestly, this guy really did have a perfectly formed abdomen. His muscles were clearly defined beneath my touch.

I smiled to myself. If Dara saw this, she would definitely explode for the rest of the day.

Because I was too absorbed, I did not notice Kenn’s body tense. He cleared his throat and grasped my wrist with light but firm pressure, stopping me with one hand.

I immediately froze and stuck out my tongue when I caught the sharp reflection of his gaze in the rearview mirror.

Then another mischievous idea popped into my head.

I gently blew toward his neck, curious about his reaction.

Kenn’s back stiffened completely. He lifted the visor of his helmet with a rough motion.

“Do you want us to get into an accident?” he snapped, still staring straight ahead.

Instantly, I grinned sheepishly. I did not reply. This time, it really was my fault.

“Don’t do that again. I’m driving,” he said in a low, hard voice, holding back emotions that felt close to exploding.

I nodded quickly. I was not that stupid to push him any further. I did not want Kenn to drop me off in the middle of the road just because of what I had done. That would not be funny at all.

The rain grew heavier. The leather jacket apparently was not enough to keep out the cold. I tightened my embrace around his waist again. I did not care if it was called a ploy. What mattered was staying warm.

If later Kenn commented on my way of seeking warmth, I could blame the rain or the cold weather. Any excuse would do, even though there was a good chance he would not believe it.

I leaned against him, exhausted. The wind and rain kept battering us. Now I was truly cold. And my eyes slowly closed, feeling the rush of wind and rain brushing against my face.
