Chapter 484: Edward & Moira 29

The hotel room door was slammed open, and Edward pinned Moira against the wall.

Moonlight scattered through the floor-to-ceiling windows, illuminating their brows and eyes.

"Are you happy today?" Edward pressed his forehead against hers.

Moira softly replied, "Happy. I think this is the happiest day of my life."

"I'll make you happy every day from now on."

Moira was about to say something more, but Edward's dense kisses silenced her.

From the living room, sofa, bathroom, to the floor-to-ceiling windows, traces of their love were left everywhere.

Moira didn't know when she fell asleep. When she opened her eyes again, she saw Edward staring at her intently.

"Awake?"

The deep, husky voice she loved. Moira snuggled into Edward's arms like a kitten and affectionately rubbed against him, "Good morning, boyfriend."

Yes, boyfriend, not a sugar daddy.

This made Moira's dreams sweet and filled with pink bubbles.

Edward looked at her obedient and cute appearance, his heart softened, "Good morning, girlfriend. What do you want for lunch?"

"Lunch?" Moira looked up at him in confusion, "Shouldn't we have breakfast?"

Edward pinched her cheek, "What breakfast? Do you know what time it is now?"

"What time?"

Edward extended his wrist, and Moira looked at the watch. It was already 10:30.

"We made love too late last night, it's normal you couldn't get up." Edward laughed as he slipped his hand under the thin blanket, rubbing the soft flesh of her waist.

He smirked, "I didn't expect you to be so proactive last night."

Moira covered his mouth with her hand, "Don't say it."

Edward laughed, holding her hand and kissing each of her slender fingers, "Okay, I won't say it, just do it."

He turned over and pressed on top of Moira, "I heard that eating after making love increases appetite."

Moira remained silent.

For two consecutive days, Edward took Moira out to play.

They were like an ordinary couple, taking photos at every famous spot and eating all the local specialties.

Moira was immersed in the change of identity, feeling like she was dreaming these past few days, sometimes even giggling secretly.

Edward occasionally saw her like this, finding it amusing yet particularly heart-wrenching.

He vowed to treat her even better in the future.

They were having coffee and desserts at a café on Main Street.

Edward noticed the cream at the corner of her mouth and wiped it off with a napkin.

At this moment, Edward's phone rang.

He glanced at it; it was a call from Isaac, the chocolate shop owner.

"Mr. York, Daisy is scheduled for surgery this afternoon. She wants to see you and Ms. Sanders before the operation. Do you have time?"

Edward saw that Moira had just finished her dessert and said, "We'll head to the hospital now."

"Thank you, Mr. York. Thank you, Ms. Sanders."

Edward looked at Moira and relayed Isaac's words.

Moira nodded, and they left hand in hand.

They didn't notice someone in the corner secretly taking their photo and making a phone call.

"Mr. Santos, guess who I saw?"

Max, drunk and disoriented, replied, "Who? I'm really annoyed right now, stop playing guessing games with me!"

"Edward, I saw him holding hands with that assistant Moira, looking very sweet. I guess Moira has officially become his girlfriend. Don't you have a grudge against him? You can start with Moira."

Max pushed the woman in his arms away, gulped down a glass of red wine, "You want to use me to get rid of Edward? Damn, you're trying to use me!"

Edward laughed, "Mr. Santos, you're joking. We can cooperate, how about it?"

Max squinted, grinding his teeth, "How do we cooperate? Tell me."

...

Edward and Moira arrived at the hospital room. Daisy, lying in bed, immediately sat up when she heard the sound.

"Mr. York and Ms. Sanders are here."

Moira walked to the bedside, holding her hand, "Daisy, how are you feeling?"

Daisy smiled, "Honestly, I'm a little scared. It's a major surgery, after all, and there's some risk. But I think it's worth it. If the surgery is successful, I'll be able to see my dad and you all."

Moira nodded, "The surgery will be successful. Edward and I will be waiting for you outside the operating room, okay?"

"Okay." Daisy reached out to touch her face, "I want to remember what you look like, okay?"

Moira knew Daisy was worried about the surgery failing and dying on the operating table, so she wanted to remember her face.

She felt heartbroken. There was too much unfairness in this world, and Daisy had endured too much.

Daisy gently touched her brows, eyes, nose, and lips, "Dad said Daisy's mom was a beauty. I think mom must look like Ms. Sanders."

Moira heard from Isaac that Daisy was found by him. He didn't want Daisy to know she was abandoned, so he said her mom died of illness shortly after giving birth to her.

She touched Moira's ear and whispered, "Although dad never says it, I know I was found. I've been a big burden to dad. Sometimes I think it would be better if I died. Until one time, dad thought I was asleep and whispered that if I died, he wouldn't want to live either."

Moira hugged little Daisy, "Daisy will grow up safe and healthy."

Daisy smiled, "Ms. Sanders, don't cry. I still want to see you. Daisy also wants dad to find a stepmom and have a baby."

Isaac couldn't bear such a scene and walked out of the room.

Edward followed him out and said, "I'll cover all of Daisy's medical expenses."

Isaac shook his head, taking a card from his pocket, "We've already owed you a huge favor. We can't let you help us anymore. Besides, the chocolate shop's annual revenue is quite considerable."

Edward smiled, "My girlfriend likes Daisy. Consider it an early birthday gift for Daisy."

Isaac gratefully said, "If you ever need me, I'll do anything for you."

Edward smiled faintly, "Okay."

Daisy's surgery went smoothly, but she was directly transferred to the ICU afterward.

Edward originally wanted to meet Yearn, but Yearn disappeared after the surgery, only leaving some instructions with Daisy's attending physician.

Edward and Moira wanted to wait until Daisy woke up before leaving, but there was an accident at a construction site of a York Group real estate project, causing casualties, so they had to return immediately.
