Disowning Lily
Disowning Lily
“I tried to understand you, Lily, but you wouldn't listen. You wouldn't change your behavior, and I don't want a daughter like you anymore. As of today, as long as you want to portray yourself as a murderer and a kidnapper, you are no longer my daughter. I don't want to see you anywhere near my house, and I don't care if you rot in jail anymore. You are no longer my daughter. As of today onward, you are no longer part of my family. And now I am just realizing that you even threatened to chase your stepmom out of the house. How dare you, Lily? What kind of a daughter are you? You were such a sweet and loving daughter before. When did you turn out to be like this, Lily? Why? Why are you doing this to me?” he said to her.
“I’m sure that wherever your mom is right now, she wouldn’t be proud of you,” he said as he immediately ended the call, not even waiting to hear anything from Lily.
And she just broke down in tears, remembering what her dad had done. “I wish I had not tried to do all of this. I wish I had not done any of these things. My plans wouldn't have backfired on me. Now see the mess I’m getting into. I can't even call my stepmom because I know she won't help me now. I am doomed for life. I'm going to rot here for sure,” she thought to herself.
The judge immediately judged their case, wanting to not stretch out the case for too long. All the evidence provided and all witnesses pointed towards Alex and Lily. The judge sentenced Lily to 20 years of imprisonment for attempted murder and kidnapping and gave Alex house arrest for a month because Alex did not actually kill or really kidnap Isabella.
In Isabella's statements, she had said clearly that she willingly followed Alex because she didn't want Alex to suffer so much. So he was only given house arrest for a month. He was not allowed to go out of the house; anything he needed, he didn’t need to call the police station to be brought over to his place. He was also given probation. He couldn't go anywhere close to Isabella ever again. If he was found anywhere near Isabella, he would have to be locked up for two weeks.
The judge gave his judgment and immediately dismissed the court. Everybody was happy. Trisha was happy that finally her plans worked as she went over to where Rachel was sitting and hugged her.
“Thank you, Rachel. You have actually gained my trust back. If not for you, I don't know what would have happened to Isabella. Thank you for making me see the light,” she said. “And thank you for saving Isabella. I promise you I'll make sure Isabella knows about everything you did for her, and I know that sooner or later, Isabella will forgive you,” she said to Rachel as she went over to Isabella, who was talking to James, and hugged her.
“Thank God, Isabella, you are safe right now,” she said to Isabella. “Please can you just forgive Rachel? Everything that happened today in this court was all thanks to Rachel. If not for our brilliant plans, everything wouldn't have worked out the way it did today. And maybe you would still be stuck with Alex, and maybe Lily might have even already harmed you,” she said, looking at Isabella.
As Isabella looked over at where Rachel was standing, Rachel was also looking at Isabella. Isabella walked over to her and hugged her. “Thank you, Rachel, for everything,” she said.
Rachel just stood there, stunned. “Did Isabella actually hug her?” She couldn’t believe it as tears started flowing down her cheeks. She also hugged Isabella back, and she felt so happy. She was so overjoyed that she didn’t even want to let go of her.
“I have forgiven you already,” Isabella said. “A long time ago. I just wanted you to realize that what you did to me really hurt me. That was why I didn't say anything to you,” she said to Rachel. “You still remain my best friend.”
Rachel was very, very happy and hugged Isabella tightly. Trisha also walked over to them and hugged them as they engaged in a group hug, all of them crying tears of joy. Isabella was finally happy that Lily was finally sent to jail. Even her mom was very happy that Isabella finally got what she deserved.
Meanwhile, Trisha had already gone to look for the judge in order to thank him alongside Lily's stepmom. They went over to his office and thanked the judge for helping them out. “If not for your help, we didn't know what would have happened to Isabella.”
“But I now have to thank you,” the judge said. “It was only a way for me to redeem myself and to correct the mistake I made that time. I have been feeling guilty, and my conscience has been pricking me because of the judgment I made last time, and it was only because I was under pressure. But now that I have already adjusted it and redeemed what I did, now my mind is at rest,” he said to them. “So you don't have to thank me. Actually, I am the one that is supposed to thank you instead,” he said to them as they were all happy.
Trisha and Lily's mom went out of his office. Trisha looked at Lily's mom. “All of this has been a success without you. I thank you very much, and I know that you are really feeling pain now because in everything that happened, you are actually the one that is affected because the daughter that you trained for so long right before she was a child is now locked up in prison. And even if she's not your real daughter, I know how much pain you are feeling. I swear it shows in your eyes when it was being sentenced, and I know you're just doing this for her own sake, but it’s actually hard for you also,” she said to Lily's mom as Lily's mom started crying.
“I’m only doing this for her sake, and I know that for sure. I can't watch her go as you without doing anything,” she said to Trisha.
“Thank you very much, Trisha,” she said.
As Trisha said, “No, I'm after the law. The one that is supposed to be thanking you for saving my best friend's life,” she immediately went to Isabella, who was standing there with James and Rachel and her mom.
Isabella's mom immediately said, “Trisha, you’re a good friend. Thank you for doing all of this and going through the trouble for my daughter.”
She said to Trisha as everybody was happy. James was also happy knowing that finally, Isabella would be safe, and nobody would take her away from him anymore. Rachel was also happy that Isabella was finally back with her and had finally forgiven her as all of them left the court.
