Chapter 33

Aurora's POV

I found a school near my office and I immediately loved it. Thomas seemed to enjoy it too as he looked around the walls.

I took a week off before he began so I could take care of him and spend some time. It was the first day of school and I was anxious.

What if he cries?

What if the other kids aren't being nice to him?

So many things could go wrong.

I was about to completely give up on school when Ronin rolled his eyes at me.

"Are you honestly crying?" I didn't even realize I was. I quickly wipe the tears.

"No," I mutter and he laughs at me. Thomas waddles out.

"Hi, mommy." He mumbles sleepily, he was fully dressed but he looked tired.

He knocked right into my leg, leaning his head on my thigh.

"Hello, there baby." I smile lifting him and he touches my cheek.

"Why are you crying?" He asks.

"I just don't wanna see you go." He gives me a groundbreaking smile, giggling as he lays on my shoulder. "What's so funny?"

"I'm only gonna be gone for a few hours." He repeats what I told him and I sigh.

"I'm gonna miss you baby." I tickle his stomach slightly and he offers me a toothy grin.

"I'm going to miss you too."

Sniff.

Sniff.

"Ronin are you-"

"No, I'm not a woman!" He yells, running to his room.

"Just take extra care of him okay? He's allergic to peanuts. And he's afraid of all insects. So don't let him near those." I point to the pile of fake insects at the play section and the teacher who seemed to be grinning at me since I arrived, nodded, and everything I say.

"I hope you're listening! Because if you aren't, and my child ends up crying. I. Will. Hurt. You." I warn and her fake grins shrink a little.

A giggle is heard and I peer down to find Thomas playing cars with one of the little girls. She had two ponytails and gorgeous blue eyes.

Thomas stared at her adoringly and I raise an eyebrow at him, clearly amused.

"Thomas?" I call and he looks up, saying something to the girl before running towards me.

"Bye baby." I smile lifting him and he frowns.

"Bye. ."

Crap, it's happening.

He's sad!

We're leaving right now.

"Mommy . . . that girl over there has no one to play with. It makes me feel bad because she's new. Like me! I'm gonna go play with her now." He wiggles to break free, after kissing my cheek and I smile warmly at the little boy retreating to get to his new friend.

Like father, like son.

"Wes?" I gape as the tall figure leans against my desk. He grins at me, pulling me into him and pecking my cheek. "What're you doing back here so soon?"

"Well, I had some free time and a jet so I decide to see my two most favorite people in the world. Speaking of two, where Thomas?"

So. . I haven't exactly told him that I enrolled Thomas is school.

"Thomas? Oh right. Um... he's, uh." I cough and he frowns. "Thomas is, you know-"

"Aurora. ." He says in a warning tone and I sigh.

"Thomas is in school?"

"In school?" He repeats and I nod. His face breaks into a soft smile. "That's great! I always wanted him to start school but he was never. . . comfortable."

I breathe a sigh of relief.

"Y'know. . . I'm so glad I have to back. Lord knows where Thomas and I would be now if it wasn't for you... " He says playing with my fingers and I smile.

"I guarantee you have me forever this time," I tell him and he raises an eyebrow.

"It's true!" I yell defensively and he chuckles, pulling me tighter against his body and burying his face in my neck.

"I wish, I could just spend a day, with you and you alone. Maybe even a weekend." He sighs into my neck and I pout.

"No Thomas?" I whimper and he snorts.

"I love that little boy, trust me, he's my everything. But sometimes I want to just spend some time with my girl. We are developing right?"

"Well, loverboy your wish is my command!" Ronin barges in and I quickly pull away from Wes who just smirks at me.

"Oh please, I do more than you in an hour."

"You're nineteen!" I yell and he winks.

"Aurora. My dear sister, you're going on a vacation."
