Chapter 13
Beeze's POV
The familiar ringing of my phone causes me to jump to alert.
I grab it while biting into an apple and smile at the contact.
"Hello there." I smile into the phone.
"Good morning to you too beautiful, what're you up to?"
"Just eating an apple," I admit honestly and he chuckles.
"Sounds fun."
"Totally, what about you?"
"I'm just on my way to the airport, Thomas is going to spend some time with his uncle."
"Wes Roman! I can't believe you didn't invite me to see my little boy leave." I yell into the phone.
"I'm sorry, but we were running late and I honestly forgot."
"You're gonna pay," I tell him darkly while plopping on the couch. "Put me on speaker."
"Alright hold on a second."
"You're on"
"Thomas!" I exclaim. "How dare you not tell me you're leaving young man."
"Oops. Sorry, Beeze!" He yells and I chuckle.
"Be good okay? I'll miss you so much."
"I'll miss you too. . ." He murmurs sadly and I barely hear it. I blow kisses and suddenly Wes's voice fills my ears.
"Can I get a kiss too?"
"No," I reply and he chuckles.
"It is worth a shot, anyway I'm almost there, I'll come by the apartment when I'm done I have something to ask you."
"Wait. So who is Thomas traveling with?"
"His nanny."
I bite my lips and stare out my window.
"Is he okay with that? Is it his first time?"
"No baby relax, he goes every three months."
"Oh okay." I breathe, more relieved and Wes teases me.
"I'll see you later."
"Alright bye."
We hang up and the apartment is just so silent.
I noticed the speakers in the corner of the room and decide to liven up the place. So, connecting my device I just go with my playlist, singing here and there while cleaning.
But then, Wild thoughts came on and it was all over. I am let loose!
"I don't know if you can take it." I sing with the broom in my hand as a microphone.
"I know you wanna see me naked naked naked." I spin into the living room swing my hips to the beat.
"I wanna be your baby baby baby."
"Do you now?" A voice suddenly approaches and I yelp snapping too fast and falling onto a table that held an expensive looking vase.
Crash!
I guess it's not so expensive anymore.
I groan and stand, my butt aching due to the awkward fall. I walk towards the speaker and turn it over.
"You just hate me, don't you." I roll my eyes and Wes as he kills himself laughing.
"You are great." He jokes rolling his lips inside his mouth and I mock him.
"Alright, alright come here." He smiles and I show him my middle finger.
He grabs my arm, while I am passing by to get to the kitchen.
"Ew, you're sweaty."
"I went to the gym before I got here. Maybe I should take a shower." He winks letting go of me and pulling off his shirt.
My eyes widen at the sight and I swear I touch my lip to ensure that I am not drooling.
"You can touch it if you want." He teases and I snap out of my trance.
"I'm good." I lie continuing my walk to the kitchen.
I decide to start lunch when he decide to press against my back.
"So what're having?" He asks innocently and I take in a sharp breath.
"Wes. . ." I warn.
He switches off the boiling water swiftly before grabbing my waist and pulling me back from the stove.
"Hey!"
"We're eating out today." He murmurs lifting me and placing me on the counter.
He grabs my hand and freezes.
"Where's your ring?"
Oh right, remember when he asked me to be his girlfriend? I got a ring too.
"In my room. I didn't want to boil it or something." He chuckles.
"Extra careful now, aren't we?"
"Yup."
He is about to break the space when I smirk and interrupt him.
"You want to ask me something?"
He stops and closes his eyes.
When he opens them he playfully glares at me and I giggle.
"You want a job right?"
"Absolutely."
"Become my personal assistant at the company."
"Absolutely not."
"What? Why?" He raises an eyebrow and I sigh.
"Wes. I basically have only a high school education level. I'm not smart enough to be at your company. . . it's not fair for the other employees."
"Screw the other employees."
"Wes, stop it."
"Why do you always have to argue with me when I'm trying to do something for you?" He asks me and my breath hitches. I avert my eyes and scratch my neck awkwardly.
"I just-"
"You're working at my company. That's it."
"You can't just order me around." I cross my arms and he rolls his eyes.
"I'm trying to help you."
"I never ask for your help." I snap getting frustrated.
"You didn't have to ask, it was writing all over your face." He snaps back, leaning off the counter and walking away.
"Hey! This conversation is not done." I jump down nearly breaking my short legs in the process.
"Don't you already have an assistant?"
"I fired her so you could get the job." He shrugs nonchalantly and I gape.
"Why? Oh my, why do you make these rash decisions without telling me?"
"I don't know." He plops down on the couch and I narrow my eyes at him.
"Yes you do, tell me why. It can't be because you're just trying to help. You would've stopped at-"
"Because I want to make you happy!" He exclaims and everything dies down. I'm speechless as I stare at him and he averts his eyes.
"Wes. . . I'm happy just being here with you, you don't have to kill yourself to make me happy."
He snorts.
"Firing a prissy assistant is definitely not killing myself, Aurora."
"I'm just warning for the future." I shrug and he rolls his eyes.
"Do you accept the job offer?"
I sigh.
"I guess."
"Good. You never really had a choice anyway." He shrugs and I grunted at him.
"Don't forget you have to clean up this mess," I smirk.
"What? I'm not the one who decided to have a concert in the middle of the living room."
"But you're the one who got me all scared and jumpy. So clean it." I wink walking off to my room and he groans.
"And don't think I forgot about making you pay!" I yell.
"I wouldn't dream of it."
Its 6:30 and my bedroom door swings open revealing a well dressed Wes.
"Hey!" He snaps his finger and I cover my ears with my hands. "Baby, what're you doing, we gotta get to work."
"Find a new assistant if I have to get up this early."
"I bet you woke up earlier at the restaurant."
"Because I have a wicked aunt," I tell him in a duh tone.
"Just get your butt off that bed and into the shower."
"Why don't you like me!?" I whine sitting up while banging my fist on the bed.
"Mm, you're adorable." He chuckles while pecked my lips and lifting me off the bed.
I grumpily walk towards the bathroom and get all my hygiene moments done. Still grumpy I walk out and swing open my wardrobe. Not caring that he was there, I drop my towel and pick out a navy blue skirt and a chiffon top with black stripes.
Relax, I had a bra and panties on.
His sharp intake of breath had me smiling and when I was fully dressed I slip on my white ballet flats. I set my hair in a wavy ponytail and grab my bag.
"I'm ready," I tell him but he just stood there with his eyes wide.
"Did you just do that in front of me?" He asks dazed and I roll my eyes amused.
"You had to see it at one point right?" I tease and soon. . . . I'm slammed into the wall.
"You're really trying to make me take another shower before I get to work?" I grin as he struggles to control himself.
A hand above my head and one on my waist.
He leans in and collides our lips in a good morning kiss. His hands slide down my back and onto my butt and he applies a little pressure there. I tried to hold in a moan-
Keyword.
Tried.
I can feel him smirk against my lips and we simply continue with the blissful moment.
"Wes. . . we were gonna be late." I pant breaking away.
"Screw them." He groans burying his face in my neck.
"Come on big boy, excitement awaits us!"
I exclaim moving from under him and he grunts.
"More like stress."
