Our pack, the Femino Wolf pack, the blood moon pack and the ruby claw pack were tied for first place. And there was only a single round left, so most likely something had to be done.
Dakota spoke to the Queen and both of them agreed on the next action to be taken. "Listen everyone, since the games are looking a bit tight right now, we've decided to call forth a Royal round!" Dakota shouted but most of us were just confused by what she meant.
"What Dakota means is that the next round is the battle tournament, twelve competitors will participate, two from each wolf pack, in a seeded bracket which will be randomly selected," The Queen explained further and we finally understood what was going on.
"Not only that, each battle won by a participant will add a point to their pack's total, the team with the most wins by the end wins or the werewolf who wins the battle tournament shall be awarded extra points guaranteeing them the winning position!"
What?! That almost makes all the other games we've played so far irrelevant?! However, it was her tournament... She could do anything she wanted, but still that's just plain insane!
How they were going to randomly select the positions were by random, and so the first two matches would be the seeds, that means that whoever won the first two matches would have a clear path to the semi finals without having to fight anyone else. And there were now two Battle sides the Red side and blue sides which divided werewolves from the same pack, however if the werewolf who made it to the finals were both in the same pack then the win would officially go to that pack.
So the first match would be Vance the beta of the Blood moon pack versus Jeff the beta of the Blood moon pack, it literally just started and we were already getting a high maintenance battle off the get go.
Both of the males headed off on the huge battle platform that was relegated for this round personally, the ground was made from concrete so that it wouldn't easily be destroyed.
The battle started immediately and Felicia went straight for the knockout, his speed and strength were something else entirely but Vance was a crafty werewolf, he knew he was slower than Jeff so he shifted into his red wolffo.to evade Jeff's heavy blows he was also carrying his tuning sword in his mouth and he used it to attack Jeff, however, as the blade made contact with his skin, the extra damage done by the sound waves was negated somehow.
"Hahaha, you can't expect such a weak attack to get past my hard hide! This is the result of bulk training!" Jeff said as he punched Vance away.
Vance recovered and kept attacking Jeff, but he wasn't getting past his heavy defenses. "How about this?!" Vance shouted and jumped over Jeff's head and threw the sword at him from his mouth.
"It's no use!" Jeff shouted and hit the sword away and it fell two meters away from him.
Vance then launched another attack from above and Jeff tried to punch him again in mid air as he was falling, however.
"Psych!" Vance shifted back into a human fell to the ground avoiding Jeff's punch.
He picked his sword up and was about to land a critical hit of Jeff with his tuning sword however, "Oh no you don't!" Jeff used his free hand to block his chest but it wasn't enough.
"Sonic boom!" Vance shouted as he used both his hands to swing his sword and emitted a powerful sound attack that blew Jeff out of the ring, giving him the win.
"What an amazing battle! Vance the Beta of the Blood moon pack gets the first victory! His pack now are leading with four points and he's guaranteed a spot in the semi finals!" Dakota shouted happily.
"Well done Vance!" Queen Rene said.
"You were a tough one to crack Jeff,but I won this time,"Vance said, helping Jeff up.
"Hmph, well I'm just glad I lost to a worthy Beta like myself, but next time I'm going to win!" Jeff said while flexing his muscles again.
Vance went back to his pack, giving Adonis a high-five, patting Astrid's head and giving his mate Harmony a kiss on the lips. While Jeff was scolded by Velvet, Miranda and Regina for losing the first round. The next seeded game was one that really surprised me... I didn't expect it to happen...
"Kali of the Femino pack versus Astrid of the Blood moon pack! In the seed of the blue side!" Dakota announced.
"Wow, I can't believe that was a random selection honestly," the Queen said, amazed.
I turned to Kali but she had a straight face as she walked to the edge of the platform, while Astrid had hatred written all over her face.
"You've got this Kali!" I shouted in support.
"Yeah, show that kid how it's done!" Iris added.
"Win and I'll make you your favorite fish dish tonight!" Trinity said and it just pumped Kali up some more.
"This is bound to be interesting, keep your eyes peeled Holly," Hunter said smiling, he was aware of Kali's strength after all.
"Got it," Holly said while looking attentively.
Vance then called out to Astrid, "Remember! Don't use your berserker phase! You might accidentally kill her!"
Astrid didn't respond to this and it worried him but Adonis put a hand on his beta's shoulder reassuring him that she'd be fine.
The fight began and both parties immediately punched each other in the face, the force behind the blows created a shockwave, both Astrid and Kali started to bleed from their noses and then both backed away from each other.
"Water balls!" Kali shouted and shot out five balls of high pressure water at Astrid but Amazing the berserker girl punched each ball of water and destroyed them with her vibration punches.
"You're going to have to use that strength you used to kill my brother to beat me!" Astrid shouted, "If not... I'm definitely going to kill you?" Her eyes then turned completely white.
