Chapter 65 fuck you

Chapter 65 fuck you

Genesis's POV

I stared at Eli in shock. I never expected him to show up at school.

Eli placed his hand firmly on my shoulder and forced a polite smile. "I'm taking her to dinner in a bit, so she won't be joining you guys."

His gaze landed directly on Forth, his smile growing colder. "Her tutoring Forth is just classmates helping each other out. It's no big deal. No need for special thanks."

His words sounded polite enough, but it was obvious he didn't want me having too much contact with Forth.

I lowered my head, mockery filling my eyes. This was how they treated mistresses. Just stay quiet and wait for them at home.

But Forth wasn't intimidated by Eli. He insisted, "Genesis has done way more for me than any regular classmate would. She deserves my thanks. And without Genesis's help, my grades never would've met Walton University's requirements."

Eli's expression changed instantly. His arm pressed down on my shoulder for a moment. He was clearly pissed.

I turned to look at him in confusion. What was this man's problem now?

Eli turned his head to meet my gaze, his eyes carrying a threatening edge. "So Forth is applying to Walton University too? Did you two plan this together?"

My heart jumped. The muscles in my back tensed up.

Forth knew I wasn't planning to apply to Walton University! If this conversation continued, I'd be exposed!

Sure enough, Forth's face showed confusion as he hesitated. "Sir, I think you're mistaken. Genesis clearly isn't..."

\[I just remembered I have something to take care of!\] I nervously cut off Forth's words, gave Emma a polite smile, and pulled Eli away.

Eli followed me with a dark expression. When we passed the small grove, he grabbed my wrist and dragged me inside.

He pressed me against a tree trunk, looking down at me from above. His eyes were full of displeasure.

"Why did you suddenly cut that boy off? Do you two have secrets you don't want me knowing about?"

He narrowed his eyes, suspicion written all over them.

Even though I knew he probably wasn't talking about that, my heart still pounded twice. My chest felt like someone was squeezing it tight. Even my breathing got shallow.

Seeing my face change, Eli grabbed my chin.

"You two really did plan to go to Walton University together! What exactly is your relationship!"

He stared at me with sharp eyes, like he'd tear me apart with his bare hands if I gave him one wrong answer.

But I actually felt relieved. I gripped my fingers tightly and shook my head. \[I didn't! Walton University is already one of the top schools in the country. Lots of people want to apply there. He and I are just regular friends!\]

I met his gaze firmly. I wasn't lying about this, so I had no reason to feel guilty.

Eli stared at me for a while before finally letting go of my chin.

"Really just regular friends?" Eli asked again, still not convinced.

I nodded seriously.

"Fine. I believe you." Eli shrugged.

I didn't want to keep going in circles about this, so I quickly changed the subject. "How come you suddenly showed up at school?"

Eli said matter-of-factly, "Isn't today the college counseling meeting? Christian and Savannah definitely won't show up. I couldn't have you watching other people's parents and feeling jealous. Of course I had to come."

My heart felt like something had hit it. Emotion washed over me.

I knew what kind of person Eli used to be. He could actually go this far for me!

Honestly, he was the one rare person in the Martinez family who actually cared about me. If only he wasn't trying to make me his mistress.

"Come on." Eli straightened my school uniform. "What time is your appointment?"

I stayed put and gestured to him. \[I didn't think anyone would come, so I never made an appointment for this consultation.\]

Eli helplessly ruffled my hair. "Why do you always make people feel so sorry for you?"

I shrugged indifferently. \[My grades are stable. It doesn't matter if I don't go.\]

But Eli disagreed. "We're already here. Might as well get the full picture. You're just a young girl who hasn't been through this stuff before. Once I understand everything, you can come talk to me about whatever comes up."

His attitude was completely natural, like these things were obviously his responsibility.

But complex emotions stirred in my chest.

The truth was, I had no plans to attend Walton University at all. No matter how much he asked about now, none of it would matter.

I pressed my lips together and let him pull me toward the academic building.

Eli found a time when a college counselor was free and took me to his office.

The college counselor looked shocked to see I'd actually brought a parent.

During my sophomore year, he'd repeatedly suggested my parents attend the college counseling meetings. Christian and Savannah had just sent Susan instead. When the teacher found out Susan was just our family's maid, he'd been furious.

"I can't believe you finally made time this year." The college counselor complained. "It's already second semester senior year and you're just now starting to care about Genesis's grades. Isn't that a little late?"

This was the first time I'd ever seen Eli look embarrassed. I never thought he'd have a day of getting scolded by a teacher.

"You're absolutely right. It's definitely our fault." Eli smiled and accepted the teacher's criticism. "I'm her guardian. Next time, if there's anything, you can contact me directly."

As he spoke, he handed his business card to the teacher.

The teacher found the term "guardian" odd and asked, "Guardian? What about her parents..."

"There's nothing worth saying about them." Eli cut the teacher off bluntly. "Just contact me directly if there are any issues going forward."

The teacher reluctantly agreed.

Coming out of the office, Eli looked at me. "Let's go. I'll take you for driving practice."

The moment he said "driving practice," countless inappropriate images flashed through my mind. I could almost feel that sticky sensation between my legs again.

I immediately shook my head. \[I need to go home and study.\]

Eli looked at me deeply and smiled suggestively. Seeing that I was actually angry and glaring at him, he raised his hands. "I promise, absolutely nothing like Saturday will happen today. You spent all day Sunday at the library just to avoid me, right?"

I looked away and shook my head in denial.

Eli reached out and brushed my nose, pulling me into an intimate embrace.

"You're lying! You think I can't see right through those little thoughts of yours?"

This was at school! I uncomfortably broke free from Eli's arms, signaling him not to go too far.

Eli had to let me go, complaining softly, "We've already done so many intimate things together. How are you still so shy? What are you gonna do when I actually fuck you?"
