chapter 77 Threat
Forth's POV:
I had been staking out the hospital for a whole day before Genesis finally ended up alone.
Taking advantage of her walking to a secluded area, I quickly rushed out, covered her mouth, and dragged her to the fire escape.
This was my first time doing something like this. I was extremely nervous!
The moment I released Genesis, she slapped me hard across the face.
I quickly tried to calm her down. "Genesis, it's me!"
Genesis looked at me in terror. After a long moment, she came to her senses and angrily pulled out her phone.
[What are you going crazy for? You scared me to death! I thought you were a bad guy!]
Seeing Genesis's pale face, I felt very guilty too. If I wasn't worried about alerting Eli, I wouldn't have used this method to bring her to the fire escape.
"Sorry, I just didn't want Eli to see me. He's too scary." I lowered my head and explained to Genesis.
Of course, this was only a small part of the reason.
More importantly, I couldn't let Eli know I had contact with Genesis. This way, after I took Genesis away, Eli wouldn't trace it back to me.
Genesis's face was still pale. She frowned and asked me: [What's the matter?]
I handed her the study notes I had prepared earlier. "You haven't been to school lately. These are notes I took for you. I hope they can help."
Genesis looked somewhat surprised, as if she hadn't expected me to specially deliver notes to her.
Her eyes sparkled as she typed gratefully: [Thank you, I really need these.]
I lowered my eyes, not daring to look directly at her.
Actually, this was all planned between Delilah and me. Eli's surveillance of Genesis had always been strict. Breaking into the Martinez family villa to take her away was impossible.
We had to pick the place where his influence was weakest: school.
Only at school could we successfully take Genesis away without Eli tracing us.
So I prepared this notebook to get her to go to school for the exam.
"You'll come back to school for the exam, right? These will all be recorded on your transcript. It affects whether you can get into college smoothly." I deliberately made the exam sound very important to force Genesis to return to school.
Genesis showed a hesitant expression.
I continued, "Even though you're not going to Novien University of Technology anymore, other schools will still need your grades."
Genesis indeed agreed: [I'll come back to school for the unit test.]
Hearing her agreement, my heart relaxed.
The reason I didn't tell Genesis the truth was because Delilah told me that Eli not only shamelessly controlled Genesis, but had gone so crazy as to have a psychologist brainwash Genesis, making her completely fall in love with him!
Once we told Genesis the truth, we wouldn't be able to take her away!
For Genesis's sake, I had to rescue her from the demon's hands, even if it meant deceiving her.
I knew that after Genesis came to her senses, she would definitely be grateful to me and forgive my deception!
Thinking of this, I reminded her again, "The exam is next Wednesday. You need to study the notes carefully."
Genesis nodded and thanked me again.
After she left, I immediately called Delilah. "I've seen her. She said she'll come back for the unit test."
Delilah sounded very happy. She quickly instructed me, "Take her to the school's back gate then. I'll send people there to meet you. Oh, you got that sleeping drug, right?"
I took out the sleeping drug from my coat pocket and asked hesitantly, "This drug... it's really okay?"
"Of course it's okay." Delilah said firmly. "I specifically confirmed with my family doctor. He said this drug won't harm the body."
At this point, she sighed again.
"If Eli hadn't had a psychologist brainwash Genesis, we wouldn't need to go through all this trouble."
Thinking of Eli, hatred rose in my heart too. It was all that despicable man's fault!
Anger surged through me. I couldn't help but recall all the times I'd spent with Genesis before. I had to rescue her!
"You're sure you can help us get away from Eli?" Out of caution, I confirmed with Delilah again.
"Of course." Delilah answered decisively. "I've already arranged the flight route. My private jet will take you to Verenburg. It's a very small country. Eli will never find you there."
After saying this, she sent me two new passports.
I opened my phone and saw they were actually Verenburg resident passports. Genesis and I had new names and completely new identities.
I hadn't expected Delilah to be so well prepared. I completely believed her.
"Thank you, Delilah. Without you, I might not have been able to take Genesis away." I thanked her sincerely.
In that small country, Genesis and I could do some simple work first, then reapply to universities and completely start a new life away from Eli!
Just thinking about that scene made me excited.
Soon, soon! Next Wednesday we could start our brand new life!
Delilah chuckled softly. "After you get on the bus next week, I'll give you the new documents. Don't worry."
Genesis's POV:
I quietly put the notes Forth gave me at the nurses' station, asking them to keep them temporarily.
Just like Forth said, I didn't want Eli to know I still had contact with him privately. Otherwise, who knew what kind of fit Eli would throw!
Walking into the room, I saw Susan was already packing up. I quickly signed to Eli: [I want to go home for a bit.]
Eli immediately frowned. "What do you want to go back for?"
[I need to pack some clothes to bring over.] I explained helplessly.
Eli's leg injury wouldn't heal in just a day or two. Since he suddenly asked me to stay, I hadn't prepared anything.
And also...
I remembered Eli's request that day and lowered my eyes.
I planned to go home and make some new cupcakes for Eli.
The cupcakes I made before had all been given to Forth, whom I mistakenly thought was my savior. Now that I knew the truth, I should definitely make new ones for him to show my gratitude.
Eli had done many things for me. Before I left, I wanted to make him as happy as possible.
