Chapter 109 Bacco's Wine

Chapter 109 Bacco's Wine
HER
“Does this have alcohol in it? It’s so sweet, it tastes just like juice. I can’t stop drinking it!”
The two older women in the room exchanged a knowing glance, a smirk passing between them. A part of my brain—the hazy, sluggish part—stubbornly tried to warn me that they were up to something. The little redhead and the scorpion woman.
What were they plotting?
I couldn't bring myself to care. It felt too damn good.
“Drink a little more, Luna,” the woman urged. “The festivities are about to begin.”
“Why are you making her drink so much?” Sunna, the young pack member, asked with a furrowed brow. Just like me, she had noticed their sketchy behavior.
“It’s nothing, Sunna. She is simply being prepared for the Saturnalia Ceremony.”
“But she shouldn't even participate! She’s a marked she-wolf, and her mate isn’t even here!”
“Shut up, Sunna! This is adult business!” the redheaded Beta snapped, glaring at the girl. “Don't you dare ruin this now!”
“Ruin what?” I chimed in, genuinely intrigued, right after gulping down the rest of the wine from my mug.
“Your makeup is done, and your hair is perfect. Time to get dressed,” the scorpion woman said.
“What is that in your eyes, Hira?” I asked as the Beta helped me stand.
I pushed away from her, stumbling a bit, and stepped right in front of the stunning woman.
“What are you talking about, Luna?”
“I don't know... I saw... sparks. Like little bursts of fire inside your eyes. Oh... you have fire in your eyes! Just like an evil djinn!”
“I think the potion is kicking in,” Hira muttered. “Her mind is already slipping.”
“I am not slipping, you djinn woman!” I snapped back, defending myself. I did see those sparks in her eyes!
Suddenly, a cold shiver ran down my spine, making my nipples harden. I looked down. I was completely naked.
Wait. Naked?
When the hell did I take my clothes off?
“Why am I naked? Look, I'm sorry, but I don't swing that way,” I said, deadpan, staring right at the redheaded Beta.
She only smiled, holding up a piece of fabric.
It was blood-red.
“Raise your arms, Luna. Put this on.”
“Is red the only color you people own? Are you wolves or minotaurs?” I burst out laughing. Man, that was a killer joke.
At least, I thought it was. I couldn't stop giggling.
“It is the color of a Luna’s ceremonial robes. And you are a born Luna, aren’t you, My Lady?”
Hmm... true.
“Yes, I am the Luna! Not that homewrecker Estela! I’m going to go back there, kick her skanky ass, and show her who the real Luna is! I'm the Luna, and I’m going to slap the taste out of her mouth!”
Yes. Going back to the New Moon Pack to confront a Beta female made perfect, logical sense at that moment. I was so convinced that I spun around and marched toward the door, even while they were still pulling the fabric over me. I think my bottom half was still completely bare, because they dragged me back, giggling.
“Are you laughing at me?” I demanded, glaring at the female djinn and the redheaded Beta. They looked like two mean girls plotting a high school coup.
“No, Luna. We aren't laughing at you, we are laughing with you.”
“And don't you worry. After tonight, you won't have to worry about Beta Estela taking your place ever again. The Alpha won't allow it.”
I couldn't tell which one of them said it. The moment the word Alpha left their lips, my heart squeezed with a burning pain.
Is my Big Wolf really going to claim Estela as his Luna? If he does, it’s over. I will never forgive him for trying to degrade me into nothing but a breeding slave.
What did Derik say again? He said Ares would never do that, and... some other stuff. I couldn't remember.
My head felt so heavy. Where was Ares? He is so gorgeous. So incredibly hot, with that brooding alpha scowl, his skin always burning hot, packed with hard muscles... pure sin.
Why wasn't he here? He was late for... what, exactly?
Where was he?
“Where is my big bad wolf?”
More giggles echoed around the room.
“You look breathtaking, Luna. The most alluring, seductive Luna I have ever seen. You are going to drive the males feral.”
I looked down at myself. I was draped in one of those sheer, transparent dresses that hid absolutely nothing. My breasts were completely visible, straining beautifully against the thin fabric.
“You naughty girls... This outfit leaves nothing to the imagination. And I'm not even wearing panties!”
“It is to allow easy access for Alpha Ares, Luna Esmeralda. When he finds you, he will want to mount you without delay. We are just making things easier for him.”
“Mount? Ugh, why do you wolves use that word? It’s so savage.”
The door flew open, and Eli rushed in, out of breath.
“Alpha Ares is here. He and our Alpha are tearing each other apart in a brutal challenge! Take the human Luna to the Altar of the Great Goddess, now!”
Oh, my wolf is here! Where is he? I want to lick him from head to toe.
“Oh, Goddess... They shouldn't be fighting, Eli! What if they kill each other?”
“It won't come to that. I’ve already alerted Lord Agar. He is on his way to intervene and said he will handle it.” The nerdy-looking Beta shifted his gaze to me, his eyes turning pitch-black. “She is ready. Her pheromones are heavy. I can smell how slick and wet she is from here.”
“Hey! Stop ogling her!” The redheaded Beta slapped the back of his head.
I laughed out loud.
Ha! She smacked him! Take that, Clark Kent. He really looked like Clark Kent, and she was... she was... whatever, I forgot.
A sharp ache throbbed in my lower belly, but when I rubbed my hand over my skin, a wave of relief washed through me.
You know, the nerd is actually pretty hot...
