Chapter 70: Grendel

"When your Mother became pregnant, she did not go out because she had become the target of people's bad words. It became a mystery to everyone who the father of her child was. She died the night she gave birth to you and Grimm. And in those moments, I immediately took you and Grimm, and brought you both here to hell. I removed the stain of being human so that you would not be weak. I have made you pure devils. But Grimm just got your Mother's weakness... Even you, have inherited weakness from her. But at the very least, you can remove them from your system. You are not like Grimm, there is no hope. He is the one who got your Mother's weakness. Sadly, he still looks like me... Buwisit!"

Gaunt was a bit puzzled by everything he found out. That's why he has feelings. He and Grimm... His lips tightened and he looked at his father angrily.

"Your disgusting!" his angry language.

He stood up and turned around.

"Thank you for your compliment, son. Your sweet!" teasing language of Belphegor.

"You bastard!" Gaunt's unbearable chase.

He heard a foolish laugh from his father. Now everything is clear in his personality. He was happy with what he found out.. It is normal for him to love because he inherited it from their Mother. Now, he fully understands his personality. He had to go to his brother. It also has the right to know about their Mother.

Grimm and Victor were on their way home when Gaunt suddenly blocked their way. Both became alert. They had just finished taking Rusty home.

"What do you need?!" Victor.

Gaunt ignored Victor. He looked at his younger brother.

"Let's talk, Grimm. You need to know something." he said.

Victor and Grimm looked at Gaunt in amazement. A few more moments...

"I'm going home." Victor said goodbye.

Victor walked away and Grimm just chased a stare at his friend. He turned his attention to his older brother again. As usual, he was surprised by its sudden appearance.

"What do you need from me?" Grimm asked.

"Like I said, you need to know something."

"What?"

"Let's not talk here. Let’s go somewhere."

Gaunt turned around and walked towards the thicket by the side of the road. Silently Grimm just followed his brother. Gaunt stopped walking and faced him.

"What are you going to say?" Grimm asked naughtily.

His brother let out a very deep sigh.

"About our Mother."

Grimm was stunned.

"W-What did you say?!" he exclaimed.

"That's how I reacted when Belphegor told me that we are not really his creation but that, we were really his children."

Grimm shook his head.

"B-But what he said was..."

"He lied to the two of us. He hid our identity. He said that you are so weak because you inherited that from our Mother. Her name is Grendel. I did investigations about her... Here is the picture I took."

From the pocket of Gaunt's pants he pulled out an old photo that was faded. Grimm approached his older brother and looked at the picture he was holding. He looked at his brother.

"Y-You look like her." not in his own language.

"You're right. My hair is just white."

Gaunt finally gave the picture to Grimm.

"What was her connection to our father?" Grimm asked curiously.

"Our Mother's ancestor made a treaty with Belphegor. He asked for an unforgivable treasure. And our father's successor was the first woman in that man's lineage and she was our Mother. Her name is Grendel."

Grimm caressed the picture of their Mother.

"How did you get the picture of her?"

"I did an investigation. I need to find out if Belphegor was lying to me. Come with me. I have a lot to show."

Gaunt walked again and Grimm followed again. He did not know how he felt. He is happy to know that they have a Mother but he is also sad because Belphegor is really his father and only one blood flows in their veins. He was stunned when they reached a very old but still beautiful mansion. This is the mansion where they had an encounter with a tiyanak.

"What's in it?" he wondered.

"This is the house where our Mother lives. This is her home."

Grimm's throat dried up. Gaunt entered the house and so did he. Grimm looked around...

"Has our Mother been important to Father?" he asked boldly.

"No. Belphegor is insignificant. He does not know how to love. He does not know that thing."

Grimm was already expecting his brother's answer. He took a deep breath.

"What are the things you learned about our Mother?"

"She died when she gave birth to us. And when we were born, our father took us and brought us to hell. It is there that he removes from our being the stain of mortality. He left nothing. He made us pure-blood demons. But I think he did not completely remove our Mother's stain from us."

Grimm burst into tears.

"I-I agree with that. I don't know if I should be happy with what I found out."

Gaunt did not speak. He climbed to the top of the stairs and Grimm followed. It entered a large room and with the power of its fire, it lit candles in the chandelier. The whole room lit up. Gaunt approached a drawer and took some photo-albums from there. He opened it and Grimm approached his brother and looked at the pictures there. From childhood to adolescence their Mother has all its pictures there.

"You really look like her." Grimm's uncontrollable language.

"I know." Gaunt's short answer.

Gaunt reopened the album and both of them was when they saw her solo picture smiling. Gaunt caressed the picture of it.

"If Belphegor hadn't been stingy with her, she would have been a famous actress in the theatre. That was one of the things I found out. Do you want to go to her grave?"

"Yes." Grimm replied quickly.

Earlier, he wondered what his older brother was doing. It does not shout at him and does not say that he hates him as he often hears every time they meet. Suddenly, his older brother returned, always taking care of him and protecting him. Gaunt walked away and he followed him carefully. In the back of the house they went and in the thicket, there was a very old tomb.

"Our Mother was considered a disgrace to her family so she was just buried in the backyard, after she was buried here, her whole family left and never returned. She was completely forgotten and buried in oblivion. But we're here, aren't we?"

Grimm could not answer because he was already crying as he stared at the grave. Grendel Eastwood is the name placed there. It was almost erased because of the time and was really neglected. Gaunt flicked his fingers and in a flash so many white-flowers appeared around the grave. Grimm smiled.

"I will not lose." he said.

He put his hands on the grave and with his ice power he wrapped it up and changed it. A very beautiful mausoleum made of ice appeared. It is surrounded by rose vines made of ice and there are angels around it. Gaunt was amazed at what his brother had done. Beautiful in the word beautiful made this grave of their Mother. He was pleased with what it did but he remained calm and quiet. Grimm also remained silent but kept crying.

"You are really weak. You are lucky because you are the one who inherited most of her character." comment by Gaunt.

Grimm laughed softly. Now he knew why he was like that. He felt happy because his lack of personality was complete. He knew his older brother felt the same way. Gaunt left without saying goodbye but he stayed there for a while.

"I promise, I will always visit you here." the language is Grimm.

He also left and went home. Arriving at their house he went straight to his room. He was still a little puzzled by what he found out. He lay down on his bed and stared at the ceiling. He smiled as he remembered his older brother. It is calm and not angry. It also made casual conversation.

"Brother, I just wish you really forgave me. And thank you, you told me about our Mother."

From the pocket of his pants he again took the picture of their mother given by his Big Brother. He suddenly thought... What if it was alive? What if they are with their mother was the one who raise them and not Belphegor? He had so many unanswered questions. He stopped meditating when he heard a bang from the window of his room. He looked there and he saw Victor finally enter the room.

"What are you doing here?" he asked.

"Akyat-ligaw?"

(Akyat-ligaw-to woo)

"Putek! Stop it!"

Victor laughed softly at his reaction. He was wearing a black shirt and blue basketball shorts so he could clearly see the many scars on his body. He got up and sat on the bed. Victor remained sitting by the window and looking at him intently.

"I'm here because I'm worried. Maybe your older brother beat you up again. But from what I see now, not a single scar is there. It is true that there is a miracle. I might go to church then." Victor retorted.

Grimm laughed and shook.

"You should go to church. My older brother didn't beat me. He said something important to me."

"Really? What?"

"About our mother." his excited language.

"Ha?!" Victor reacted in shock.

He got up and approached it. He showed the picture of their Mother and he also told what his older brother said.

"She looks like Gaunt." comment by Victor.

"Yes. She is our mother."

Victor nodded. But after that it looked at him seriously.

"Since we are already talking about your older brother... I just met him on the road while I was going here. And he also told me something..." Victor began.

"What?"

It took a deep breath.

"Leviathan and your Dad Belphegor are really mad at us. Your father will send a demon to kill us. I just don't know how many, and who they are."

Grimm did not speak.

"I don't understand why Gaunt told me about that thing. He wanted to warn us but I couldn't get what he was aiming for."

Grimm scratched his neck.

"I think my older brother is slowly coming back."

Victor folded his arms.

"I hope so. But let's forget about your older brother first. All we have to think about is the opponents who will come to chase us. We must be ready at all times."

"All right. You're right there."

Grimm look again at the picture of their and Mother. He smiled.

"Just look at your older brother. At least, he is alive." Victor's joking comment.

"Crazy!"

What other topics did they discuss. It was early in the morning when Victor went home.
