Chapter 23

I woke up to an empty bed. The pits of my stomach rumbled, and not in a nice way.

I scoffed. It was such a delusional thought, to think that he would want to wake up with me in his hands.

I touched the sheets to remove them from me. They turned to ashes in an Instant. I moved out of the bed as quickly as I could. I didn’t want my body burned by the fire.

I looked at my hands in disbelief. ‘,it couldn’t be… it’s not…” I kept staring at my hands in disbelief.

That could not have been me.. right???

I stood, not touching anything for at least three minutes. I was scared. I didn’t want a situation where I would melt anything. Slowly, I made my way to the bathroom. I looked at the handle and gently touched it.

Nothing happened

I opened the door fully and then had a deep long shower. The incidents of yesterday covered my mind. Images of my dad’s unconscious body flooded my mind, but I tried my best to ignore it.

Tears came down my eyes. They were beyond my control at this point, and I didn’t even try to stop them. I needed this. A way to let out the pain I was feeling inside.

I turned off the knob after I felt like I had enough and left. I dressed up, not feeling up to it and just threw the first thing I saw from my wardrobe.

• Knock knock knock*

The door… I looked again. I was not I the mood to talk to anyone, I felt like I should stay alone.

'but it could be Eric. The thought sent me to the door before I could even stop myself.

I tried to calm my racing heart and out my emotions in check. I didn’t want to xbe an emotional wreck while he was here.

I rolled my eyes. For someone who didn’t want to be anywhere near him yesterday cause I felt he was using me as a rebound, I was overly excited to see him.

“Heyyyyy” Anna with the biggest smile I have ever seen on her say. .I felt my mood dampen a bit. It was not who I expected that was at the door.

“Anna “ I said either way, Happy that she came to visit. The truth was, since she found out about the supernatural world I got to see her less and less. .

“I heard what happened.” She said looking sad. Anna was like a second child to my parents. So I knew the pain hit her just as hard as it hit me.

“thank you” I said blinking rapidly. I wanted to cry, and so did Anna but inside, she led me back to he room.. “happy birthday” she whispered. I couldn’t help it anymore. I broke down in to tears. .

This was he first time I would celebrate my birthday without my dad.

“Fuvk” I said in an annoyed voice. “I am sorry. I shouldn’t be behaving like a small child.” I didn’t get the chance to hear what Anna said, because everything faded out into a distance..

Eloise’s vision∆∆∆

‘This is it' I thought nervously as the carriage slowed to a stop. ‘my new life is going to begin once I step out of this carriage. They are going to be my new family' I said, thinking back to Joan who I was going to miss dearly. She was no doubt already settled in her new kingdom since that place was much more closer to our father’s kingdom. “For his majesty the king!” Someone, who I was assuming a body guard of some sort shouted, announcing my presence. “A new bride! From Aditya kingdom!!” I took in a deep breath as soon as the door was opened. ‘this was really it, a new life, a new me. I could be who I wanted to be. “Left foot first, then your right foot next” I mumbled under my breath. I needed to walk as elegantly as I could. I could not for any reason, mess my first meeting with the king. I needed his first impression on me to be as good as it could be.“Lord Deloris” I said bowing my head to the ground as I curtsied. “Lady Dorothy” he responded giving me a smile as he equally bowed his head. “I am sorry to inform you but, sire Deloris was not able to make it. But he wants you to know how sorry he is for not being able to make it.” At those words, I felt my heart drop to the pits of my stomach.‘it’s a lie. It’s just a cover up. He did not want me.’ “But please, may I suggest that you feel free as this is your new home.” He said and took my hand and kissed the back. I noticed how he froze for a moment when he took my hand. “Is anything the matter Lord…?”“Allen.” He said straightening his posture and avoiding my gaze. “Is there an issue Lord Allen? What seems to be the matter?” I tried looking him straight in the eye as I asked. “nay my lady. I just realized I had somewhere to be.” He said removing his hands from mine like I had burned him.“please, take her to her quarters” he said to the man that was behind him. “and if you need anything at all my lady, please let me know” he said and rushed out of my presence. “Your quarters is right this way, my Lady” the man said and began leading the way. as we walked to where ever it was I was going to be residing in, I could not help but have the urge to sniff my hands. ‘Maybe it smelled bad' I thought to myself. “is that the new bride?” I heard someone say not too far away as we passed. I held my head up in confidence.“So I presume. She is not as pretty if you ask me” I felt whatever confidence I had leave my body. “I guess it’s the same everywhere” I mumbled to myself, bowing my head as I followed the man in front of me.

The vision slowly faded. They started to become more and more real,it was scary.

,Who was Dorothy?

Who was Lord Allen? I didn’t know what the vision meant, and this was the second one that I was having that didn’t seem to make sense to me.

“Eloise?” Ann’s unsure voice called out to me. She looked confused.

“You’re doing that thing again…. Spacing out” she explained when she saw that I didn’t understand what she meant.

“I’m sorry my visions. They don’t seen to make any sense” she nodded. She looked as if she didn’t know how to handle the information.

“you want to get breakfast?” she said instead. I didn’t want to, but she didn’t look like she wanted to get food too.

“Fine” I said I walked to the door to open it, but then as soon as I touched the door, the fire broke out, startling the two of us.

“Eloise” Anna said, pushing me out of he way because I was too shocked to move at first.
