Chapter 9

I saw Morgan's desperation and how he was truly afraid of losing me. For a moment, I hesitated to kiss him, but I couldn't resist—he was my addiction. Even if destiny took me far away, my body longed for him. Gently, his hands caressed my face, looking at me with a tender gaze I had never seen before. Behind that tough and ruthless exterior, there was a human being I didn't know. Quickly, his hands explored my body. Slowly descending, he kissed every inch of me, his hands gripping my breasts. At one point, he sucked on them as if they were ice cream, his tongue circling my nipples. He lifted me and placed me on the kitchen table. As things fell to the floor, I smiled, excited, and said to Morgan, "Everything's falling."

With a look that showed he didn't want to stop, he replied, "Forget about that." He unzipped my pants while continuing to suck on my breasts. Turning me onto my stomach, he entered me fully, first quickly, then gradually increasing his pace. He pulled my hair as I moaned, begging for more. "Harder! Don't stop!" I said, wildly aroused, wanting him to give me all his strength—I needed him, and he knew it. Turning me to face him, he squatted down and went down on me, gently biting and teasing, slowly inserting his fingers inside me.

"Come on, love, ride on top of me."

"Is that how you like it?"

Mounting on top of him, I rode him, moving up and down and grinding on his erect penis. His hands gripped my buttocks tightly. Together, we reached an orgasm with loud and delightful moans.

I woke up early and looked to the side, seeing Morgan sleeping beautifully next to me. Feeling his scent in the morning is all I need to have an incredible day. I give him a kiss and get out of bed without waking him up. I went to the kitchen and started preparing breakfast, but to my surprise, he had already arranged something amazing. The breakfast was ready, and a beautiful bouquet of roses was on the table.

"I kept thinking about what you said about being normal, even if it was just for a few hours. That's when I had the idea to cancel all my appointments and give you a normal day away from everything."

"I thought I was going to make you breakfast, and you surprised me with this incredible gesture. Everything looks beautiful. Thank you."

We walked to the bedroom, and I picked up the breakfast tray and brought it to her. Her eyes sparkled like a child's. I could swear there was love in them.

"I told you I'd win you over," I said, and she smiled.

"Are you going to win me over by feeding me?" she asked.

I gave her a quick kiss, and we had breakfast together.

"Let's take a shower," she said.

"Sure," I replied.

I carried her in my arms to the bathroom, helping her remove the t-shirt she slept in, and we got into the shower together. The water poured over our bodies as we embraced, and we shared some caresses while bathing. Once we finished, we wrapped ourselves in towels and left the bathroom, heading back to the bedroom.

"I have a surprise for you," she said, looking at me.

"What is it?" she asked.

I went to the living room and brought back the bags of clothes that were there.

"You said your favorite stylist was going to launch a collection, so here it is," I said.

Placing the bags on the bed, she hugged me and said, "You're amazing."

I smiled and kissed her forehead. Then I left the room, giving her space to get ready at her own pace. I went to the living room, took my notebook, and sat in the armchair, attending to the details of the mission we aborted to come after her.

I was reflecting on how this had happened to me. The 'Ndrangheta had always been my priority, but lately, Mariana has been taking that place. In my years in the mafia, I had never put my missions aside or canceled any commitments. I had never taken a single day off. Even on the day my mother died, I was working the night after her funeral. I abandoned the mission for her and canceled important commitments. For her, I broke rules and did things I shouldn't have done. Touching her before marriage was one of them, but how could I resist her when she is everything I want in this world? I would do anything for her.

I snapped out of my thoughts when I saw her coming out of the bedroom. My eyes roamed all over her body as I clenched my jaw.

"Absolutely not," I say as I watch her walk in denim shorts, a long-sleeved shirt, and high heels. She looked incredibly beautiful and attractive in that outfit. Just the thought of someone looking at her makes my blood boil.

"The outfit looks perfect," she says as she walks over and sits on my lap. She wraps her arms around my neck, and I hold her waist.

"You look stunning. However," I say, and she gives me a kiss, pulling her hair back and kissing me more intensely. I pull away from our lips.

"Are you really going out dressed like this? Don't blame me for killing anyone who looks at you," I say.

"They can only look," she whispers in my ear.

I squeeze her thigh.

"Laura," I say, and she smiles.

"Let's go," she says. "Let's go."

I grab everything I need, and we intertwine our hands, heading downstairs, where Nate was already waiting. We go to the lobby, waiting for Nate and his wife.

I hug her from behind.

"I love your scent," I say.

"I like yours too," she replies.

"For someone who claims to hate me, you're intriguing," I remark.

She smiles.

"I already told you that I love you, Laura," I say.

Laura turns to me and hugs me.

"But can you say it again?" she asks.

I've always had the gift of reading people, and I can tell that Laura is genuinely confused but also in love.

I hold her face and give her a passionate kiss.
