Chapter 37: Chapter:37

**Dimitri's POV**

"What?" I ask not believing that he just said that.

"I won't allow it." He says as he slowly gets up and pushes his chair out. "And what makes you think that you have any say in our relationship?" I ask him, my blood running hot with anger.

"I clearly have to think for you because you can't spot a gold digger even if one is standing right infront of you." He says and my mother gasps. "Felix..." She says and before I can stop myself, I launch my fist right at his face and he stumbles back.

"You don't talk about her that way! I will not let you disrespect her the way you disrespect your own wife."I tell him as he clutches his jaw. Turning around, I make eye contact with Taylor and her eyes are filed with shock. "Let's go." I say grabbing her hand and fast walking out of the now quiet restaurant. Pushing the door open with alot of force, I pull my phone out and request and uber.

"Dimitri." Taylor calls but I keep trying for an uber. "Dimitri." She calls again and I turn around to look at her. "What?" I say a little too loudly and she backs up a little.

"I'm sorry." I say in a softer tone and she sighs before walking towards me. "Let me see your hand." She says softly grabbing my hand and inspecting my knuckles. She runs her thumb over them before looking up at me.

"I'm sorry that you punched your asshole father." She says looking at me with doe eyes and I can't stop the small chuckle from leaving my mouth. "How can you say that while looking so freaking innocent." I ask and she shrugs with a giggles. Her laugh causes my anger to almost immediately vanish.

"What is the plan now? I'm pretty sure your dad doesn't want to see me in his house after this." She says and I can tell that this whole thing bothers her but she's trying to act cool.

"We're going to go back and get our stuff and go to my rental property. I'll have the jet ready for us to go back to New York in the morning." I tell her looking at my phone.

The app finally lets me know that my driver is nearby.

"That's just a waste of jet fuel and a trip. Why don't we stay here for the week like we initially planned?" She asks and I think about it.

She's right. I took time off of wrok which has never happened before just for this trip. It would all go to waste just 'cause my father always thinks he knows best.

"Okay. We'll stay but we are not staying in that house." I tell her and she nods. The uber pulls up and we hop in. The ride is quiet. Neither of us want to talk about it but whether we want to or not, we'll just have to.

I can feel Taylor squeezing my hand very few seconds and it helps calm me down a little bit.

I have never gotten physical with my father or any member of my family, no matter how far they pushed me. Tonight was different. I was mad at the fact that he had the audacity to say that he didn't agree with the engagement but him calling Taylor a gold digger right to her face sent me over the edge.

He thought his disrespect would be tolerated but he got it wrong. I watched him do it with my mother when Elina and I were younger. Cheating, lying and even yelling at her like she was a stray dog pissing on his leg. I'm not going to let him do it to Taylor.

*Someone's inlove.*

I clear my throat as the thought pops up and Taylor looks at me. "What?" I ask and she furrows her brows at me. "What back at you." She says sassily and I chuckle and she smiles.

We pull up to the front gate of my parents house and the uber driver whistles. "I want to do whatever y'all are doing." He says and Taylor giggles. She pays the guy before I can and we get out. She has a smug look on her face and I roll my eyes at her silent gloating.

Punching the code in, the gate opens and we walk down the driveway. We get to the stairs and I can see Wanda by the door waiting like she always did when my dad and I had a fight. We walk up the stairs and she opens the door for us.

"He's in his office and your mother and sister are in the kitchens." Is all she says before walking off. Taylor closes the door behind us and the house is eerily silent.

We don't bother looking for anybody and head straight to the room where our stuff is. I push the door open and immediately grab my bag and put the stuff on the dresser in there.

I look around the room to make sure that I didn't leave anything behind before zipping my bag up. I sit on the bed next to Taylor before pulling my phone out and calling rental property and having them clean up before we get there.

I hang up and she looks at me. "You ready?" I ask and she nods. "I think you should apologize to your father before we leave. I know he made you mad but you hitting him isn't right." She says and I let out a deep sigh. "I know and I will, I just need a moment." I tell her and she nods.

"I'll give you a few minutes while I go and look for your mother. I need to apologize aswell for messing her family up after only being here for twelve hours." She says and I chuckle. "That's a new record.

She gives me a peck on the lips before moving towards the door and leaving.

I sit there for a few more minutes before letting out another sigh and getting up aswell.

I leave the room and walk to my dad's office. I knock on the door and hear a low 'come in' before pushing the door open and walking in. He is standing by the large window and turns around briefly. "Here to throw another punch and run?" He asks and I roll my eyes.

"Taylor wants me to apologize to you so here I am. I'm sorry for punching you even though you deserved it." I say and he turns around to look at him. A stupid smile is plastered on his face and I give him a deadpan look. "So she does have some sense." He says and I narrow my eyes at him.

"Don't start. This time I'm not going to stop myself." I tell him, meaning it.

"Ahh yes, such a big strong man. You have balls now huh. Where were those guts when Miranda was giving you a hard time after the miscarriage. Where were they when you found out she was ceating on you the whole time." He asks and my heart sits in my throat. "How do you know all of this. She told you?" I ask and he laughs evilly.

"Still so fucking stupid. It was me, Dimitri." He says and my blood runs cold. It feels as if the ground shifted under my feet as I look at my father.

"You're lying." I say as tears build up in my eyes.

"Oh how you wish I was. Why do you think she constently wanted to come over here. It was my baby. I was the one fucking her. ME!" He says and I feel my anger picking up.

"Oh, where did the big man go now. You can't talk now?" He mocks me and I suddenly grab the bottle off scotch from his desk and launch it at him.

It hits him right in the face and he drops like a sack of potatoes. The bottle shatters and it is all quiet after that. Staring at his body for a few seconds, I realise he's not moving anymore before sitting down on the floor.

"Fuck."
