Soon Jane Gardner had her ankle bandaged.
Nanny Finn asked her to go to the hospital for a visit, but she refused.
She was going to dinner in the evening, so naturally she couldn't go home empty-handed.
After all, this was the first time she had gone back in three years of marriage.
Jane Gardner was worried when she thought of gifts for her family.
She now had two cards, one she had saved for herself before she got married, with only $15, 000 in it, and another card that Ottilia Amos had given her for personal use after she got married.
She didn't know exactly how much money was on it, but looking at the gold card glistening in the sunlight, she guessed it would not be small.
She was debating which card to take out when Zachary Irwin's words flashed through her mind.
He had never considered himself his wife, so she wouldn't take advantage of him and spend any of his money with the Irwin family.
With her mind made up, Jane Gardner put the gold card in the box and put her own card in her bag.
Dropping off a taxi to the largest shopping center in Dragon City, Jane Gardner was surprisingly a little intimidated.
In the three years since her marriage, she hadn't worked out again at the request of Ottilia Amos.
She spent her days at Maravilla, at Ottilia Amos' place, or at the hospital for her regular checkups.
It was the first time she went to the mall.
She had been out of touch with society for three years, but she didn't recognize any of the brands she saw.
In the past, when she was not married, she worked at a restaurant or studied at school, and she would not even hear a word about the big brands that her classmates were clamoring for.
Now, when she suddenly had to buy something for Shan York, she was really at her wits' end.
In the end, she spent $14, 000 of her card on what she thought was a nice gift for all her relatives before going back to the Gardner family.
The Gardner family was no match for Zachary Irwin's Maravilla, but when she stepped out of the cab and looked at the single-family home with a nanny and plants, she couldn't believe it was the bungalow she had lived in for twenty-one years before her marriage.
"It's not for the faint of heart to come over here and look at it, so get out!"
The nanny saw Jane Gardner staying at the door for a long time, contemptuously sizing her up from head to toe, and stepped forward to kick her out.
"Hey, how come you didn't hear me when I was talking to you, you little girl? This is Zachary Irwin, the maiden home of Zachary Irwin's wife, the sole heir to our city's top gentry the Irwin, what are people like you looking at!"
"Oh, I said who is this? Isn't this the Jane Gardner who has become the phoenix of the Gardner family? What, you don't recognize your own door after three years?"
Mary Gardner drove a red BMW, pressed the window, is a blonde open big curly hair, with exquisite makeup.
Jane Gardner froze for half a day before recognizing the mature woman in front of her with the Mary Gardner she remembered.
"How did the house become like this? And you ..." Jane Gardner was puzzled.
"Don't you know? It's all thanks to you that the family has changed so much."
"But if we hadn't kidnapped you from the station to the Irwin family with Dad, you wouldn't have been able to become a rich woman, and you have us to thank for that, sister."
Mary Gardner took Jane Gardner's hand from the car and accepted the gift in her hand.
"Geez, what the hell is all this! You're so rich now, and you're still so stingy!"
Said Mary Gardner, throwing everything at the nanny's feet, "Here you go, we don't use such cheap stuff."
Jane Gardner was caught up in her own thoughts and suddenly realized that the Gardner family might have something to do with Zachary Irwin or Ottilia Amos.
She understood why they had tried so hard to stop her from running away three years ago.
With a light smile, Jane Gardner told herself that everything was in the past, and that all she needed now was for her father and his family to be well.
The company's main goal is to provide a better solution to the problem.
Before, she thought he didn't understand herself and misunderstood her, but now it seems that she was not wronged.
"Mary Gardner! Shut up! Today is your sister's birthday, you say one more ugly word and you don't want pocket money!"
Moses Gardner appeared in the doorway at some point.
After reprimanding Mary Gardner, he eagerly came forward and embraced Jane Gardner, full of smiles, "Jane, your sister is still young, you are the older sister don't bother with her. Your aunt's meal is almost ready, let's go home."
Allowing Moses Gardner to bring himself into the house, Jane Gardner looked at the completely unfamiliar house and could not find a trace of home.
To be precise, it was from childhood to, she could not find a home here.
"Jane is back, come come come, this is your favorite mangosteen, auntie had the nanny go buy it early in the morning, you try it to see if you like it?"
Shan York is not the same as before, seeing Jane Gardner with a smile on her face, her well-maintained face is not a trace of the sarcasm she once had.
She didn't like mangosteens at all, but looking at her eager family, Jane Gardner nodded and picked one up to peel.
"Here, Daddy will peel it for you."
Moses Gardner took it and quickly peeled it for Jane Gardner.
"No, Daddy, I can do it myself."
Jane Gardner was uncomfortable with the sudden favoritism, and this huge contrast made her feel very unrealistic.
"In fact, today Daddy asked you to come over, besides celebrating your birthday, I also want you to go back and ask your son-in-law how come the card we've been using so well for the past few years has suddenly stopped since today?"
"Although our expenses are a little bit bigger, but we are not the difference between a drop of water and an ocean compared to the Irwin family.
Moses Gardner and Shan York exchanged a few glances, then shuddered and Jane Gardner said.
"These years, you have been using the Irwin family's card? So the villa, Mary's car, the nanny's salary, all of them belong to the Irwin family?" Jane Gardner asked, shocked.
She had guessed some of this when she walked in the door, but she had no idea the amount was so large.
"When Ottilia Amos came to the house to propose marriage, the bride price was a gold card with an annual spending of 10 million dollars. I don't know where you are better than me, when you didn't want to marry to run away, I took your place to marry, and now I'm the one living the life of a noblewoman. Tsk, tsk, tsk. Unfortunately, Ottilia Amos wants you."
With her legs on the coffee table and her body sprawled across the sofa, Mary Gardner said while playing with her phone.
Jane Gardner was shocked by the amount.
"Ten, ten million dollars?!"
So, she owed Zachary Irwin that much money!
"Dad, the first year's $10 million is considered their bride price, we received it and used it, but the second year and third year, we really shouldn't continue to use their money."
"Don't use their money? Jane Gardner, you are feeding yourself and not caring about us starving to death, you must remember, if not for us, you can grow up so big? All these years you eat us and drink us, now it's your turn to feed us."
Speaking of money, Shan York's eyes instantly cold down, the smile on his face also all disappeared.
Look at Shan York's cold face, and then look at Moses Gardner's silence, Jane Gardner then feel a little more familiar.
The hands resting on his lap squeezed together fiercely, Jane Gardner thought back to everything he had experienced in this house.
With a flourish, she stood up and looked at them coldly, her voice firm and strong.
"I used to spend more than you, 10 million is enough to pay back, I do not owe you, the Irwin family even more. Dad, you take care of yourself, I'm leaving."
Standing up, Jane Gardner said her last words and ran out.
"Moses Gardner, look at that, that's your good daughter! I'm telling you, if the cards do stop ..."
"Quarrel quarrel! Every day just know how to argue with me! Have I treated you badly all these years? If you think I'm useless, you can go away!"
Behind them, Shan York and Moses Gardner argued.
Jane Gardner took a deep breath and quickened her pace.
This home had brought her no happy memories.
