I was ready to faint the second time.
Surely, it couldn’t be....
“step. Away. From. Her.” His voice was cold and unforgiving, especially as those eyes settled on me.
“Aye now... this is good meat” the bald headed man touching me snarled, “we can take turns” he turned to look at me and those eyes. They looked like they were going to devour me and not in a good way.
I felt my skin crawl.
“I warned you” he said, feasting hiss gloved hands and taking a wing at the man.
I could barely keep my eyes open at this point. I wanted, no needed, to keep them open.
I refused to look at his face, so I looked from his shoulders down, even then... he did not look like Kellan.
I reached to check my last dialled feeling my mouth run dry as I saw the name across the screen.
I was lost in my thoughts when I felt a hand slide around my waist, too low, too possessive. My body stiffened instantly, every instinct screaming that this.
“Get off me,” I snapped, trying to step back, I could not afford to be close to him. This was just my very drunk mind pulling a joke on me. I moved away
but his grip tightened, pulling me closer.
Hades....’ I sighed
He smelt of rain and flowers.
I shoved down the thoughts that Flooded my mind in that instance.
“What are you doing here?” I hated the way my voice came out in slur.
“What the hell do you think you’re doing? Out here? All alone? Drunk?” his voice was low, dangerous, each word laced with fury.
He looked like he was ready to end me with just his eyes.
He said nothing, looking at me a bit more, before he sighed, picking me up princess style.
I suddenly became shy and conscious about everything.
The way my skirt was short,
The way it rode up when he carried me...
He carried me to the car, placing me gently on the passenger seat.
Silence.
The car was silent, too silent if you ask me
“Why are you always in a situation where you are vulnerable? First it was the bar and now...” I watched as he closed his eyes. Laying his head on the headrest of the car. “You are fucking careless!” he tightened his hold on the wheels.
“shut up” I managed to let out as I felt my head spin.
“of course, always defens-”
I threw up and it somehow ended up on him.
Fuck
**
He was angry, i could feel it in his silence as he drove us home. Even as he carried me up the stairs of his home
The room was still silent, anger fading as he reached out to gently touch my arm. “Are you okay?” he asked, his voice soft now, there was no longer that harsh tone to his voice.
I nodded, my heart still pounding in my chest, the adrenaline making my hands shake. “Yeah… I’m okay.” My voice was barely a whisper, but he heard it regardless.
He said nothing more as...
“Valerie.” His voice called cutting through the fog in my mind. “You need to drink some water.”
I hear him move closer, Deeping the bed a bit as he sat beside me and then fed me the water.
It was a simple act, but....
I didn’t know how to explain the mess that was inside of me, the tangle of emotions that twisted tighter with every breath.
Again he was close. Too close
I felt his hand on my forehead, cool against my flushed skin. It lingered there for a moment, then moved to brush a stray lock of hair away from my face. I lean into the touch without meaning to, my body was betraying me.
“Hey,” he called softly, his thumb brushing against my temple. “Just rest, we would talk in the morning.”
I was tired. It felt pointless trying to stay awake because I genuinely did not believe I was functioning well.
‘would mum mind that he was taking care of me.?
Did I really call him and say all those things?
I was too tired to feel any emotion right now, but something told I was going to reject it tomorrow.
I watched as he wiped down my body gently, his hands lingering in places or maybe it was the burning effect that made me think they stayed in a spot for longer.
“I really wish to feel your hands directly on my skin one day” I mumbled but apparently he heard it because he froze for a bit
And then there’s nothing but darkness, deep and dreamless, but as I closed my eyes. I did not m8ss the sharp intake of breath and him muttering something along the lines of “what am I doing?”
