Chapter 10: The Demon Warding Spell
Edelweiss swallowed hard, she didn't really understand the thoughts of people who really worshiped terrible creatures like the devil. But, terrible? As far ass she remembered, the strange man who claimed to be the demon Leviathan didn't look scary at all.
He is tall, his body is also sturdy with black hair and very striking blue eyes. Overall he was too handsome to be a devil.
There are no horns, no signs of anything that shows that he is truly a demon other than his ability to produce blue flames and his kisses.
"Kiss? Damn, when I think about it I'm so annoyed!" Suddenly, Edelweiss cursed in annoyance. Karen and Lisa, who were shocked, immediately looked at her confused.
"Edel, what's wrong? Why are you screaming? Did you see a devil?"
"Rather than a devil he looks more like a crazy stalker, a homeless, street magician."
"What are you talking about?"
"Speaking of Sasha Brown, it looks like she's walking towards us!" Lisa said looking at the figure of the gothic style girl with a cold, expressionless face that they had just told about.
Sasha is holding an old book with a brown cover that looks very old. Rumors about her made Edelweiss, Lisa and Karen somehow afraid of her.
"What is she doing here?" Karen asked in a whisper. She was worried that she could hear their conversation about her.
"I don't know! Edel, she's walking towards you. Have you ever had any trouble with her?"
"N-no! I've never even talked to her!"
"So, why does she keep looking at you?"
"I don't know!"
"You're Edelweiss Cohen, a student majoring in music, right?"
"Y-yes, I-I'm Edelweiss. What do you need?" Edelweiss was confused. She actually felt more afraid of this girl than the strange man who claimed to be a devil.
"Can we talk for a moment?"
"T-talk? What do you want to talk about?"
"There's something I want to ask about the creature that's following you!" Sasha said with her eyes fixed on a man standing behind Edelweiss.
"What?" Edelweiss immediately turned to see the creature Sasha was referring to. Her eyes widened when she saw that the strange man who claimed to be Leviathan was standing behind her without her realizing it.
"I didn't think there were humans who would be sensitive to the appearance of a creature like me." Leviathan said with a grin.
"S-since when did you-"
"Edel, what's wrong? Who are you talking to?" Karen asked, looking confused at Edelweiss' reaction. Lisa and Karen looked at each other because it seemed they were the only ones who couldn't see the creature.
"Edelweiss, let's talk! But tell your pet not to follow us!"
"A pet? Hey, who are you calling a pet? You damn woman!"
"O-okay!"
Because it is certain that the situation has become uncomfortable. Edelweiss decided to walk after Sasha, who seemed to already know that the stalker was really a devil. Remembering that Karen and Lisa couldn't seem to see his figure
"Edel, where are you going?" Lisa exclaimed calling her.
"I'll be gone for a moment!" She said with steps like a robot. She could feel Leviathan following behind her.
"Don't look back!" Sasha said. Edelweiss spontaneously followed Sasha's words even though she didn't know why she couldn't look back.
"Where are we going?"
"To a safe place! Since when has he been following you?"
"Since yesterday!"
"Okay, come on in!" She said as she pulled Edelweiss' hand to enter the warehouse and immediately closed the door before Leviathan came in.
After the door closed, Sasha quickly put up paper with a pentagram logo and devil's horns that had been given an ancient spell.
"What's that?"
"Demon ward! This way, he won't be able to enter this room for a while."
Knock...knock...knock...
"Hey Edelweiss, open the door! I want to come in...!" Leviathan knocked on the door screaming to be let in. Edelweis was amazed, she didn't think that the paper stuck to the door had succeeded in preventing her from approaching.
"The paper worked?"
"Of course! My grandfather taught me how to make it."
"Your grandfather?"
"My grandfather was a shaman, since childhood he had the supernatural ability to see supernatural creatures such as ghosts and demons. This ability was passed down to me."
"Is that so? Great!"
"Why can a demon like that follow you? From what I feel, he's a very strong demon and a demon that strong rarely follows a human directly."
"So he's really a devil? Not a street magician or stalker?"
"Street magician?"
"I met him yesterday at the station and suddenly he followed me home. I called the police to check the situation around my house, but the police said there was no one there."
"It's really bad, isn't it? But you're great, Edelweiss!"
"Great? Why great?"
Suddenly, blood flowed out of Sasha's nose and her face slowly turned pale. She opened her bag and took out a bottle containing pills and drank them straight away.
"Are you sick? Your face is pale!"
"This is not a disease that can be explained medically."
"What does it mean?"
"That demon following you, do you know his name?"
"His name?"
"Yes, his name? Is he told you who he is?"
"W-why?"
"He's very strong, honestly he's the strongest creature I've ever faced directly. Usually creatures that strong can't roam freely around humans because their strength can destroy everything easily."
"R-really?" Edelweiss trembled. She didn't know anything about the man who had been following her since yesterday apart from his name. She didn't even look as strong as Sasha said.
"My grandfather once told me about a demon whose power was very powerful. He was not a demon king like Lucifer, but he was the strongest. His mouth was the door to hell and he was placed far away at the bottom of the ocean, so that he would not cause damage on the face of the earth."
"Leviathan,"
"Yes, Leviathan. That very powerful demon is Leviathan."
"The man standing in front of the door," said Edelweiss, looking at the door where there were no more knocking or shouting sounds.
"You mean, he's Leviathan?"
"Yes-"
"Impossible."
