Chapter 19: 11|How am I supposed to rest?-1

It was already 9:30, by the time Alex and Rose left. I almost kissed my bed silly in happiness when I finally jumped on it but then my gaze fell on room next window and I remembered the task I volunteered for. I changed into decent PJs, locked my room and swung myself out of my window before dolphin diving into his room. "Aaaah!" I shrieked and covered my eyes instantly. Standing in front of me was Liam, in his shirtless glory. He had a towel around his waist and one in is hand as water droplets slipped down his toned chest. Damn. Is the air conditioner not working? "Jesus, Astrid. Stop scaring me like that." I noticed a slur in his voice. "Put some clothes on first." I screeched. "Why-" "Liam, is there somebody in your room?" I heard footsteps accompanied with Janet's voice. Liam's eyes widened and he dragged me towards bathroom with him. "What are you pooinf?" I didn't get to complete my sentence on right note as he pressed me against now closed bathroom door and covered my mouth with his hand. "No, mom! I am in shower." He yelled. I heard his door open and close with a few second's gap. "Okay. Go to bed immediately and take your medicines. It's a school night." He sighed and involuntarily leaned his forehead on mine. My nostrils flooded with his scent of honeydew and something else. I craved for more but stopped myself before I started sniffing him. Secretly, I took a whiff of his scent and it immediately clicked. He was drunk and he took the shower to get rid of dizziness. "That was close." I gulped and made a sound. He jumped as if just noticing my presence. "You. Don't ever do that again." I nodded like a lost puppy, still dazed by his shirtless, damp body pressed against mine. He noticed my daze and smirked. "Are you here for pillow talk?" I nodded. "Are you sleepy?" I nodded. "Am I making you nervous?" I nodded. "Is it because you like me?" I nodded. He shook his head and chuckled, breaking me out of my daze. "Wait, what?!" my eyes grew in size as I took in Liam's cocky smirk. I pushed him off me and glared at him, doing my best to cover my blooming scarlet blush. "O M Gee! I am so scared!" he mocked me in a girlish tone. I was taken aback for a moment. Mr-I-am-colder-than-your-freezer was being playful. And it's not an everyday sight. Maybe he was a happy drunk. "Piss off, Williams." I growled and he laughed harder. "Put on a shirt. I am waiting in your room." "Impatient much?" he asked cockily. I narrowed my eyes at him and tugged him into his room with his ear. "Ow. Ow. Ow. Astrid. Ow. It hurts." He whined behind me. I left him to rub his ear as I locked his door and opened his closet. Grabbing the first shirt I saw, I threw it at his face. He crossed his arms and raised an eyebrow. I groaned in frustration and picked the shirt off the floor. Like his third mother, I forced his arms and head into it. I would be lying if I say that I wasn't blushing and it would be a bigger lie if I say that I wasn't enjoying it. I was about to tug down his shirt and cover his gorgeous abs when he grabbed my arms. "What-?" he pecked me. Liam Freaking Ray Williams, pecked me through the fabric of his shirt. The faint outline of his lips left a scorching imprint on mine. My cheeks flared. "L-Liam-?" He leaned his forehead against mine. I tugged his shirt down. His eyes were drooping as I laid him gently. I sat next to him and he immediately shifted his head on my lap. I didn't protest and gently caressed his hair. "So today, I helped Asher with his janitor duties and-" I rambled like I was supposed to but my mind was stuck elsewhere. My mind was repeating the stolen kiss again and again. And before I knew it, I fell asleep. ~~~~~ "So, that's why I think- are you two even listening?!" Neal whined in frustration. He eyed both of us curiously "Am I missing something?" His eyes narrowed and it took physical strength to put an innocent front. "No, why would you think that?" I asked, dumbly. "Well, for the starters-" Saved by the bell! I jumped out of my seat and excused myself hastily as I ran away from classroom like my ass was on fire. "Astrid! Wait up!" I heard Liam's voice call my name, making me curse mentally. I quickened my strides but how fast can you walk in the middle of a teen rampage? Fingers enclosed my wrist and tugged me back. I fidgeted as I took notice of Liam's frustrated face and everybody else's not so subtle stares. "What the-?" "Why are you being so fidgety around me?" I studied his face for a moment and contemplated my choices. Today, I woke up cuddled to Liam. I am positive that I fell asleep with Liam's head on my lap and this means that I was sitting. Liam wasn't awake when I sneaked out to my room, totally confused and flustered. Journalism class was plain awkward. He was acting as if nothing happened and I was conflicted between telling him about the sort of kiss and keeping him in dark. I sighed. I wanted to help him and I really didn't want him to succeed in pushing me away. I had a nagging feeling that he was waiting for me to lash out on him for what went down between us and break our little agreement. More like your blackmail. I rolled my eyes at my conscience. "What are you talking about, Liam? I am completely myself." Pasting, a huge smile on my face, I tilted my head slightly in innocence. "But-?" he looked totally confused. My eyes discreetly flitted towards all the people who were lingering for gossip. "What has gotten into you?" I interjected him before he fed the rumour mill. He took it otherwise though. "Why don't you just say it and give up already? Why are you still trying? God! You're so impossible!" See, I am a good facial expression reader. "I have no idea about what are you talking." His nose flared. "And I take this as my cue to walk out of this conversation." He tugged me back and pinned me against a locker before I could move. I discreetly saw Asher approaching us, totally angered. I gave him a look that screamed 'Stay away. I will handle.' He halted but didn't walk away, just in case and shooed away all the nosy bastards with his glare.
