Chapter 73: All

In Skylar’s trance….

“There’s no creature on the surface of the earth more powerful than the pureblooded vampire. We are the true rulers of the earth and we will prove that soon” Skylar said with his head held high and he spoke with confidence.

“But who always goes to war with this same race and come out victorious?” The strange voice he was speaking to said with a tinge of mockery in the tone.

“The werewolves” the voice said again after Skylar kept quiet for a while. There was a loud laughter of not only one voice but several voices.

“Who are you?” Skylar said not wanting to take anymore of their ridicule.

“We transcend from the future and the past, sits upon the universe, controls the cosmos and the movement of the earth around the sun, we are the old gods” the voices said together in unison.

“Well, well, well, what do the old gods want with a pureblooded vampire like me?” Skylar said with a smirk on his face.

“Many years before the reign of Darius or any werewolf king, the vampires, the werewolves, the witches, the dwarfs, the gnomes, the faeries and the humans all lived together in peace with no one as king or ruler of all. But this was until the vampires decides to become greedy and moved to assume the role of being the Lord and ruler of all the species and factions” the voice said gently.

“The vampires only saw an opportunity and ceased it when others didn’t make any move, they became the first to ever be the Lords of all creatures until the all other creatures decided to fight back and most lost their lives and there were very little left of each faction, but the vampires we stood strong and overcame the challenge that placed itself before us” Skylar replied with a sense of pride he had in his people.

“You may be strong but the werewolves are stronger and if you are defeated by them, you will die regardless of being a vampire with an immortal lifeline.

“The werewolves are not stronger” Skylar replied.

“They are, and they sent you all away from the lands you claim to own and now you all are chased like dogs, who do you think is more powerful” the voice said.

“To come here and speak about the races, isn’t your mission today” the voice continued.

“What do you mean by that?” Skylar replied.

“You cane to the realm between two worlds, what is your mission?” The voicae said and Skylar was confused, he never came on his own freewill, this was a visit that he had no idea about and his soul still transported itself.

As Elaine saw the army run towards her she turned to race for her life but others were coming from the opposite direction, she thought of what to do but there was none, she tried to use her powers but nothing seemed to be working.

They were getting closer and they were coming really fast, she noticed that all ofbthem seemed to be carrying wounds that could be causes pf death but they were perfectly fine, were this men all resurrected from the dead? She thought to herself but she didn’t have the time to have these thoughts now, she needed to prepare for her death.

They got very close to her and when she was bracing herself to be massacred by dead soldiers, she stood in a strong resolve when they abruptly stopped. She looked around to see if they had seen something else, something bug enough to kill them all but when she turned she saw a woman walk towards her and it was Meredith.

“Hello Elaine” she said with an evil smile on her dead looking face and Elaine just stared at her blandly.

“Aren’t you tired of coming back to life Meredith? Aren’t you ready to join the ancestors or join the seven spirits and educate the upcoming witches?” Elaine said with disgust written all over her face as she felt that Meredith’s determination seemed unnecessary and full of stupidity.

“I will not rest till my goal is achieved, I don’t care if it bothers you or not but I must fulfill my destiny” she said without a single expression on her face.

“What destiny? A destiny you forcefully made your own?” She said and Meredith brows rose with slight annoyance.

“I will not respond to the words of a dead woman” Meredith replied as she walked closer to where Elaine stood as she intended to examine her more closely.

“I’m not dead yet, but I may be dead in a few minutes so why don’t you just tell me anyway, what is truly your aim and is it worth the effort you make to come back to life every single time you die?” Elaine said and Meredith paused for a while before a smile appeared on her lips, a smile that didn’t reach her cold, dead eyes.

“My aim is to make sure Skylar takes his rightful place as ruler and King of all creatures that live in this world, any one who stands in the way, must die for this great cause” Meredith replied as she took Elaine’s advice and told her the truth.

“Then why are you after me? I do not stand in the way of that?” Elaine said looking at her with keen eyes.

“What do you mean by that?” Meredith replied seeing some under lying truth in what she just said.

“What I mean is that Damien is the major threat here and not me, do you really think he would let Skylar take that position while he lives? I don’t think so, not with his pride that’s bigger than that of a thousand army” Elaine said doing something she had never done before, talk her way out of death. Meredith was quiet for a while staring straight into Sapphire’s eyes, who didn’t move an inch instead kept up with her gaze.

“You have two options Elaine, one would save you, and the other will end you” Meredith said looking away after long moments of silence and staring contests.

“What are my options?” Elaine said fearlessly.

“I’ll use a spell on you, a spell that will make your body open yo any other spells and I’ll take all your powers through an enchantment, you will no longer be the bearer of the blue stone, or an alpha and most importantly the chosen one, you will be a regular werewolf girl, whoring herself to the red stone pack Alpha”

“Or you can stay here and let these beasts eat your flesh, drink your blood until there’s nothing left of you, nothing at all” She said without a tinge of emotions in her voice.

Elaine felt her heart beat increase without control, so this was it, this was how her end looked like. She always knew that she wouldn’t live a long life, she always knew that her death was coming sooner rather than later but it surprised her that it was going to happen in her subconsciousness. Everything was going to be happening here and her body will desecrate in the real world. She looked back on her short life, she lived a good one and she felt a bit fulfilled.

“You have to make a choice now” Meredith said.

“I’d rather die than have what the gods blesses me with taken away from me by a monster like you Meredith” Elaine replied in a low and dangerous tone.

“Do you think the gods really care, they stay up there looking fown on ys as we fight wars, kill ourselves, they never attempt to make oeace and you speak oc the gods? Where were they when your parents died? Where were they when yoh neatly died in the hands of your aunt that treated you like a maid? Where were they when Edgar fell in love with Rachael and your heart broke a million pieces? Where were they?” Meredith said walking in circles around ger and Elaine actuallh put her words to meaning but instead of increasing her doubt, it only clarified them.

“They were up there watching, because they knew that there was nothing that was thrown at me that I couldn’t handle. I am guardian of the blue stone pack, Queen of the joint tribes of fire and Ice, I am the wife of the most powerful werewolf alive, I am the liberator of the lone wolves and the rebels. I am Elaine Peregren, and I have never needed to be reminded who I am and what I’ve been through, so If this is my death, I accept it with full faith but trust me. My soul will taunt you and everyone in your generation if you would have one, I will follow you anywhere you go and be the thorn in your side, your doom, your most dreaded fear, this I promise yoi” Sapphire replied finding confidence and bravery in her heart as she knew that nothing could make her regret all she’ve seen in life as they all shaped her into who she was that very day.

“Then so be it. Enjoy the after life” Meredith said as she walked away leaving Elaine alone in the circle.

“Finish her” she said and Elaine braced herself as the soldiers were descending on her and she was ready to meet her parents in the after life.
