Chapter 11: PREVIOUSLY…

Elaine’s POV

I sat on my bed wondering what I would do to kill time, I don’t want to go about exploring this place just yet, not until it becomes a necessity.

Slowly my thoughts drifted toward Edgar and how nice and good he was to me even before I knew him. I don’t think anyone has done right by me and treat me like a human up to this point..

“I’m sorry My Lord, no one is allowed into this room. Strict orders from Lord Edgar” I heard Oliver say from outside.

“Who pays you? I or Edgar?” I heard the other voice ask and it was Skylar. I moved to the door to save my guards from him.

“And what is the commotion here?” I said as soon as I opened the door to view the smug face of Skylar Knight.

“My Lady, I am here to see how you are faring, if you would let me in” Skylar said smiling and I became very suspicious of him.

“You can clearly see I am doing alright thanks to my generous host, Edgar” I said to him with a smile on my face.

“Can I come in now?” He said smiling too, hoping I have loosened up.

“No, I am not interested in whatever you have to say” I said looking him straight in the eye.

“You cannot refuse me, this is my house and I’m still asking nicely ” He said looking confused.

“Well I just did, except you have the intention of barging in here and breaking the agreement we made, you best be on your way” I enjoyed the feeling of satisfaction that rushed through me as I saw a look of disappointment on his face.

“You will regret this” He said looking vexed.

“I’m very sure I won’t. Bye now Lord Skylar, see you at the feast tonight” I said and slammed the door on his face. When the door was closed I heaved a sigh of relief that I was able to escape from that man.

I walked towards the bed after a conflict in my head I decided to have a nap and my mind drifted to something else, Skylar. Why did he come up here? He looked very suspicious and the bottle he held, I had seen that insignia somewhere before.

I was still lost in thought when suddenly without any notice someone barged into my room, I could see Edgar breathing heavily.

I was surprised but was more concerned about why Edgar behaved in such manner, he was a gentle and calculated person and for him to barge in, it must be a delicate matter

“Are you alright?” I said as I stood up from the bed and rushed my instincts kicking in as I was ready to flee if need be.

“I’m fine, I just thought Skylar was here” He said like there was some sort of danger.

“Ohh he was, but I sent him away” I said explaining to Edgar who have been kind of calm since I said I sent Skylar away.

“That’s good,” Edgar said finally catching his breath.

Just then Edgar gave a signal and Oliver closed the door from outside. After the door was shut he turned to me and I saw the perplexity in his eyes.

“What is it?” I asked knowing something was up.

“Its Skylar, he plans to use an aphrodisiac to consummate the mating bond” he said and I wasn’t surprised at all.

“So that’s what it is” I said remembering the insignia on the bottle Skylar held.

“What?” Edgar said with confusion.

“The bottle Skylar held when he came here, it had an insignia one I have seen before. My aunt used it on men that came to our house as she whored herself to them. The bottle contains the only brand of aphrodisiac strong enough for a werewolf” I said.

“Skylar really does want to make me his wife, why he is so hellbent on it is what I do not understand” I said.

“We’ll find out soon enough” Edgar said with certainty.

“She knew what I wanted to do, she knew my plan already. And can you guess the only person I told of this plan?” Skylar said to Hayley who stood behind him with some distance because she knew what he had in mind to do to her.

“Me” she replied shakily almost in a whisper.

“What!!” Skylar screamed on top of his voice as he moved closer to her, held her neck and pushed her against the wall.

“Me, you told only me” she said crying profusely as she knew she was doomed.

“And who did you tell?” Skylar asked in a more quiet tone.

“No one, I told no one” Hayley said hastily as she tried to dissuade him from the matter.

“Ohh darling you did, and you’re going to tell me who or I will give you to my hounds and let them f*ck you to death” Skylar said with a calm voice.

“Please… I do not lie when I said I told no one” she said trying to breathe as his grip on her neck tightened.

“Shh…Its alright darling, I believe you” Skylar said like a crazy man that he was turning into.

“Thank you” Hayley said smiling as he released his hands on her neck and let her fall to the ground coughing violently.

“A Luna, is her Alpha’s greatest ally, her alpha’s pride, do you know what happens when an Alpha finds his Luna bedding another?” Skylar asked and Hayley froze where she knelt.

“I don’t” she said shakily as she silently cried.

“Of course you don’t what happens, you do not know anyone doing that to their Alpha” he said pouring a drink into his cup and taking a sit.

“No, I don’t” she said confirming everything he said.

“That’s good because if you ever lay with another man I will gut you out” Skylar said gently which made it more scary for Hayley.
