Chapter 81 81
Draven's POV
Hazel nodded, her eyes shining with a newfound power. "Yes, Draven. It's awkward, so I did a little research and communicated with the moon goddess; she told me about something extraordinary.
The moon goddess has revealed something to me," she replied, her voice resonating with purpose. "Our child is destined for greatness.
She will possess abilities beyond our wildest imaginations, and there is some kind of prophecy about her; we need to find it." I sat there, starstruck, for a few seconds as Hazel's words settled upon me.
Why did the moon goddess reveal this to her? And why is she keeping in contact with her? She must have her purpose, but not having an idea of what that is is eating me up with each second that passes.
"But, Hazel, what are you saying? Our child has supernatural powers." I questioned, feigning ignorance while my mind brimmed with commotion and insecurities.
The revelation that Hazel possessed powers of her own added a whole new dimension to this complicated situation. She took a deep breath, her eyes glistening with a mix of excitement and apprehension.
"Draven, I know it sounds incredible and probably a bit unbelievable, but it's true," she insisted, her voice filled with conviction.
"I've had this ability to communicate with the moon goddess since the early stages of my pregnancy, but at first I just saw them as weird dreams and barely paid attention to them.”
“But this time she decided to speak to me through visions, and sometimes when I just looked up at the moon. And tonight, I wanted to show you something."
A sense of anticipation welled up within me as Hazel instructed me to close my eyes. I complied, my heart pounding with apprehension and wonder. What was she about to reveal?
As I opened my eyes, my breath caught in my throat. Standing before me was Hazel, but she was no longer in her human form.
Instead, she had transformed into her magnificent wolf self; her silver fur was now replaced by an ethereal and mesmerising white glow. My eyes widened in astonishment, and my voice was barely a whisper.
"Hazel, you're glowing. You're all white." She nodded, her wolf eyes filled with a mixture of pride and a tinge of fear. "I found out just now, actually," she admitted.
"I've noticed that certain patches of my fur have been turning white, but now it seems I'm entirely white. Just like the moon." She beamed.
I reached out, my hand trembling slightly, hesitant to touch the radiant fur that adorned her wolf form. "Hazel, this is incredible," I said, my voice filled with awe.
A mischievous glint sparkled in her eyes as she nudged me playfully. "But Draven, the moon has given me another urge tonight," she declared, a challenge lacing her voice, and for some reason I knew she was about to do something playful again.
"I have this overwhelming need to run. Will you deny me that?" Run? Now? Really? I reached out to her, my voice laced with worry.
"Hazel, you need to take care of yourself and the baby. Running at such speeds might not be safe." She stood her ground, determination shining in her gaze.
"Draven, I understand your concerns, but I feel invigorated and stronger than ever," she insisted.
"Tonight I won't be listening to you; in fact, you must obey my orders. Please, run with me." She begged with those eyes, and I couldn't resist.
"Okay, okay, I'll run with you, okay." I said, and with that, I shifted effortlessly into my wolf form, ready to chase after her. Suddenly, she took off at an incredulous speed, even for a luna.
And I followed after her in order not to lose her. We ran beneath the moonlit sky, our paws pounding against the earth. After a while, I was able to catch up to her, but only for a moment as she sped off again.
Then I decided not to relent anymore and ran as fast as I could, blocking her from advancing further. "Hazel, you're amazing," I called out, my voice filled with admiration and joy.
"You're more powerful and beautiful than ever." She glanced at me with a twinkle in her eyes.
"I know." She replied with a loud, cute giggle. The night was perfect, and she was perfect. She looked so beautiful that I suddenly felt so drawn in.
"Come on, I'll take you somewhere." I ushered to her, quickly distracting myself from having other weird thoughts that'd end in a not-so-desirable and yet desirable situation.
"Where are we going?" she asked.
"Somewhere magically beautiful. Like you." I said to her, and she nodded calmly. With that, I set off. I didn't have to slow down in my run, knowing she could easily tag along without much stress.
Knowing that gave me a sense of ease as we ran through the trees and grasses. Finally, we were here. I stood before the lake, turned around, and felt awestruck by the beauty in front of me.
The moonlight bounced off the waters and onto her fur, making it even more beautiful and making me more drawn to her than ever before.
Hazel’s POV
The chase with Draven felt so good as I tailed along; suddenly, he slowed down when we approached an open space and completely came to a halt at a clearing, where a pristine pond shimmered under the moon's radiant gaze.
The water sparkled like liquid diamonds, enchanting me with its beauty. It looked so beautiful and called to me. Draven drew closer to me, his wolf form majestic and emanating power.
His eyes shimmered with a mix of excitement and nostalgia. As he called "Hazel", he spoke, his voice a low rumble in the night, "This place holds a special significance for me."
His words piqued my curiosity. "It's really beautiful; how did you ever find it?" I urged. He rested by the edge of the pond, his gaze fixed on the ripples of water.
"When I was a child, I discovered this place with Jason. We would spend countless hours here, swimming and playing.”
“It became our small sanctuary; whenever I wanted to be free from all the expectations of my father and pack, I would come here and relax."
Moved by his tale, I approached him, my wolf form sitting beside him. "It's beautiful, Draven. Thank you for sharing this with me." He smiled, a rare vulnerability shining through his eyes.
"I wanted you to experience this, Hazel. This nostalgic feeling." Draven suddenly got up once more and nudged at me to follow him, which I did calmly.
He dove into the water in his wolf form and then shifted to his human form. I followed his lead, delving into the water before shifting myself.
Unfazed by my nakedness, I swam around unfazed. The water was so inviting and nourishing that I found myself slowly forgetting about everything and everyone else, including Draven.
The cool liquid embraced me. I swam with grace and abandon, my laughter echoing through the night as I revelled in the freedom of the moment.
But as I lost myself in the rhythm of the water, I felt Draven's presence drawing nearer. Soon, strong arms encircled my waist, pulling me against his chest.
Startled, I turned to face him, my hand instinctively curling around his neck. Our eyes met, and in that instant, I recognised a flicker of desire burning within his gaze.
A flush of heat coursed through my veins as I suddenly realised that we had shifted to our human forms while in the water and were now both completely naked.
"Draven," I whispered, my voice barely audible. "What are you doing?" I asked for no actual reason. His voice was laced with raw emotion, and his breath was warm against my ear.
"Hazel, I can't stand it anymore. What you're doing to me – your presence makes me want you more and more, and it scares me." His words resonated deep within my soul, as did the intensity of his touch.
Draven suddenly grabbed the back of my head and pulled me closer to him. Before I could fully process what had just happened, my lips were locked with his in a kiss.
He possessively kissed me like he owned my body, and he could do whatever he pleased with me. My first instinct was to try as hard as I could to snap out of it, but I couldn't.
It was way too impossible to resist as lewd thoughts kept coming to my mind, and I couldn't control it no matter how hard I tried. In the end, I caved in and kissed him back, trying to keep up with his wild pace.
I instinctively held onto his neck. We parted our lips to catch our breaths, then our lips crashed against one another once more, and I began kissing him as wildly as he was with me.
I felt him kiss me back, and a sudden joy surged within me.
