CHAPTER 195
ZYLIAH'S POV
It was the twins' birthday today.
But all three of them were celebrating it. It turned out Alexa shared the same birth month with them but different dates.
She was tenth. The boys were twenty-fifth. Two weeks older than them. But she had insisted on celebrating her birthday with the boys. It was a welcome idea.
With my dad, Martino, and Sabrina in prison, life was perfect once again. No more drama.
After trial, Dad received a life sentence without parole for murder.
Martino had many charges to his name, including bribing a judge to evade justice. He was also given life without parole.
The judge who had received the bribe was stripped of his legal robe and status; he was also spending time in jail, but his wasn't as much as Martino's.
Sabrina, for kidnapping and attempted murder—which was how the judge saw the torture she put me through to get me to miscarry—plus other charges I couldn't remember, was given forty years with the possibility of parole after thirty years.
Victoria, well, she was dead and gone forever.
As for Fynn, he had tried to go against Kevin, and he also wouldn't give up on the idea of me and him together as a couple; the latter had him beaten up by his boys.
Sayge then ordered him to either leave this country for good or have his company burned to the ground with no proof of who had done it.
He knew Sayge had Kevin's support. So the last I heard of him, he sold his company and left the country. I had no idea where he had gone.
I held no grudge against him, at least not anymore. His poor choice has led me to meet the most important people in my life: the Williams, Kevin, my kids, and Alexa.
My second company was doing really well; I was excited about it. The first one was also growing even better. The guy I'd employed to manage it was doing a good job.
"One would think you're the celebrant." Natalie entered the room where I was giving myself a once-over.
Delia was closely behind her.
They were dressed and looked beautiful.
"Oh well, I am the celebrant’s mother. I deserve to look good."
"You look more than good, baby. You look astonishing." Sayge, in his handsome suit, just entered, eyeing me appreciatively.
I flushed. "Thank you. And you look dapper yourself."
"Well, thank you." He moved near to wind arms around my waist and pull me in for a kiss.
I didn't care about him smearing my makeup. I kissed him with so much love pouring from me.
"I love you." He kissed my nose.
"I love you too." I stared at him with adoration in my eyes.
Natalie and Delia cleared their throats. "Lovebirds."
Sayge and I laughed, following my best friends behind as we all went downstairs to the hall.
It came as a surprise to me when I realized there was a huge hall for events in the Williams' household.
I stepped in and spotted the beautiful, elegant cakes—one blue, one red, and the other pink. All baked with their favorite animated characters as the theme of each cake.
The hall was decorated to suit the taste of each kid. This was for peace to reign; else, there would be tantrums to throw and chaos to start.
Just as the party was about to get started, a maid rushed in, panting. "She has a gun. She has a gun."
This alarmed the guests and their kids.
"Everyone, calm down." Kevin assured them. He turned to the maid. "Who has a gun?"
She just kept pointing, obviously still in shock. Kevin left her and headed down the path she had pointed out.
I asked the kids' nannies to keep them in here and not allow them out.
Grandma Charlotte, Oslaz, Sayge, my best friends, and I went out to see what the ruckus was all about.
We heard the screaming before seeing the face. I saw it was Claire.
She was in a rumpled dress stained with blood—I wondered whose it was—holding a gun, crying, and threatening. "I'll kill you all." She was even barefoot. Had she walked to this place without shoes on?
"Claire, what is wrong with you?" Grandma Charlotte, annoyed, stepped forward. "Who even let her into the building?"
No one could answer that question.
"Shut up, you old hag. You have always ruined my relationship with Sayge. Now, you have made me lose my baby. I lost my baby," she cried.
Kevin calmly stepped forward. She raised the gun, pointing it at his head, cocking it. "Don't think I won't use it." She looked wild and insane. She needed to be in a mental home. "Those stupid directors, they said they cannot accept me. Why? I am as good as those bitches who fuck to get a role. Even better. Then I came to Sayge; he was supposed to accept me, but just like those directors, he rejected me. He...he..."
So Claire had actually tried acting, but that didn't work, and so she decided to come settle with Sayge. This was the truth—not the lie she'd been throwing in our faces of giving up her career for Sayge.
"Hey, Claire. I'm Kevin."
"I fucking know who you are. Don't come close. I'll shoot you."
"What do you want, Claire?" Kevin still calmly engaged her.
"Sayge. I want him to marry me." She wailed so loud I almost felt pity for her.
"I can make him marry you." Kevin continued, taking covert steps forward.
Claire paused in her tantrums to stare at him. "You're lying." Her tone quivered.
"I'm not. I swear, I'm not." Kevin sounded so honest it would be hard not to believe him.
She sniffled. Her eyes were sunken and dull. She looked a bit thin and older. Her hair, which was once always impeccably done, was now cascading down her back in a wild, unkempt way.
