Chapter Fifty-eight: Truth, Lies, and Dracula

I'm in my room and I know it's only a matter of time before the guys start coming in one by one. I can feel them so strongly now without even having to concentrate as I had to before.

Vincent comes in and quietly closes the door behind him, “I see he gave you the luxury suite. It's the same as his but in the East Wing instead of West.”

I quirked my eyebrow, “Why are you and I in different rooms?”

“Old traditions,” Vincent said with a sigh.

I shake my head as I giggle, “Surely they know you'd all end up in here.”

Vincent shrugs, “Probably not. Maybe Sam because he's not a vampire, but they’d Eric and I to follow the rules.”

l laugh and smile at him, “They obviously have never met the real you.”

Vincent looks at me with longing as he commands, “Come here!”

He pulls me to him and kisses me feverishly. We both moan and fall deeper into the kiss. Our clothing is gone before we even hit the bed. Vincent says in his velvety sexy voice, “God, I've thought about this all day.”

I tease as I nibble his ear, “I think you lie.”

“No just hide it, you're not the only one that can when needed, my love,” he responds with a smirk as he lightly bites my neck.

I grin, “What a naughty boyfriend you are!”

“Oh, I'm far more than your boyfriend and far naughtier than you can imagine,” he murmurs as he runs his hands over my quivering body.

I smirk, “I have a pretty vivid imagination.”

I love how we are with each other. I hope that nothing ever comes between this. I know that there will be challenges along our race toward eternity, but I want to jump over every hurdle with him by my side. I love him no matter what he is!

Vincent smiles, “I love you, Eva.”

I smile and say, “I love you too, Vincent,” before I pull his lips to mine.

He pulled away from our kiss to slowly slide his cock into me while never breaking eye contact. There's just something about how he looks at me. It just awakens a part of me that I never knew existed. Here, making love with my mate, is where I'm meant to be. We find our releases after a slow burn and he holds me as we kiss. It turns lustful. I feel that all-too-familiar sensation now. We are about to relinquish all control to the Haze.

We pull away as we both simultaneously say “Haze.” He trails kisses down my body and then flips me onto my stomach. He pulls my hips up as he thrusts inside of me. I cry out, “Oh yes!”

The door opens and in comes Eric and Sam. Eric locks the door.

With a feral wolfish grin, Sam says, “Can't let you have all the fun.”

Eric smirks as his eyes begin to swirl, “We know you're hazed.”

In between thrusts I say, “Didn't start that way.”

Sam starts to remove his clothes as he stalks toward me with carnal lust in his eyes, “Oh but it will end that way!”

I giggle, “What am I going to do with you guys!”

Vincent says, “Good thing we have an eternity to figure it out!” as his lips claim mine once more.

An eternity, God I hope so. I do feel a shift like something is approaching. I can't tell if it's good or bad at this point and that makes me anxious. I know that I have no control over what we are evolving into or what may lie ahead, but I want to. I desire to understand all of this and try to prepare the best we can. I can't lose them, I can't lose my family again!

Vincent kisses me as the other guys make their way over to the bed. We become a writhing mass of bodies enjoying the feeling of powerlessness that the Haze brings. Our bodies are just driven towards pleasure. We all cry out as we climax. It's just an otherworldly experience. Especially since we are all floating.

I kiss each of them and we laugh. The Haze is diminishing but still holding us firmly in its grasp. It's not as powerful as the Full Moon Haze though. This haze is

controllable but never for long it seems.

There's a loud bang and then the door bursts into flames.

“The hell!” I exclaim.

We slowly descend to the bed as Vlad steps into the room oozing power and exuding primal fury.

Vincent chuckles, “Brother you're hazed!”

Vlad’s nostrils flare as he yells, “You all interrupted my feeding!”

I laugh and I snap my fingers to restore our clothing. I approach a shirtless Vlad. “Look at my eyes and come with me,” I command.

I lead him into the restroom and have him look into the mirror. His eyes are swirling mystic topaz flames. Similar to Vincent's but Vincent's are a richer color and without flames.

I say calmly as I caress his cheek, “That's what your hazed eyes looks like and this is what mine do. What you feel now is mild compared to what the full

moon brings. This Haze is controllable if only barely so. Why we usually just all enjoy it together or nearby. Vincent had issues once in the beginning as well.”

I led him back into the bedroom. Vlad says, “This isn't what vampires do!”

Vincent explains, “It's what vampires that are her mates do. Since you are one of us now, you need to become aware of the power of the Haze and your new limitations within its grasp.”

Vlad asks Vincent, “What did you do to her in the beginning?”

Vincent looks away. So Eric answers for him, “He got carried away and fed from her too much. Their powers reacted. I got there first and helped her recover.”

Sam adds, “I nearly killed him for it too.”

Eric explained as he looked at Vincent, “But you can't kill your mate nor vice versa. Why Eva gets creative when she torments or punishes one of us.”

“Oh fuckoff!” Vincent exclaims.

“Do I need to make a litter of kittens appear?” I threaten.

Vincent warns, “Eva!”

Sam chuckles, “I still think it's funny that you're scared of a little cat.”

Vincent scoffs, “See how much you'd enjoy one in your pants, wolfman.”

Sam grins, “I don't plan on provoking her enough to ever find out.”

Vincent quips, “Go chase a car!”

“Go be a leach,” Sam retorts.

I don't like the animosity that is building, “Enough! Keep it up and I'll port you both far away from here! Now let’s back to our adult conversation, please.”

Vlad chuckles and I chastise him too, “Oh don't think I won't hesitate to put you in timeout too!”

Now Vincent chuckles. My mates are all assholes! Assholes I tell you! I throw my hands up in frustration, “Seriously!”

Vincent kisses my cheek, “Sorry my love, but after seeing the look on his face I couldn't resist.”

I tease, “Keep it up and no dessert for you!”

Vincent looks at me as if I wounded him, “Love!”

The fire in Vlad's eyes has intensified. He's clearly not used to anyone putting him in his place much yet a woman. I use my magic to manipulate the door frame making my own door so that we can have some privacy.

“Now we can talk,” I say as I offer my wrist to Vlad, “Taste.”

He puts my wrist to his mouth as his fangs descend. I look into his unsure eyes and say, “It's fine, just a bit.”

He sinks his teeth into my wrist. I let him get a bit and then motion for him to stop. He does after I urge a second time.

Eric asks Vlad, “What do you taste?”

“Ocean, strawberries, and flowers kissed by sunlight,” Vlad says in a daze.

Sam nods, “All similar to what we said.”

Eric agrees, “Yes. Yet Eva says ours is different.”

“Yes, yours is spicy Eric. Vincent's tastes like sugar and cinnamon. Sam's is more Earthy like truffles,” I explain.

Confused, Vlad says, “You're not a vampire, you don't drink blood!”

“But I can. Vampire blood restores me quickly. There's something else you should know,” I tell Vlad.

He winces, “I'm…”

“Having trouble resisting, it's normal. My blood not just heals you, but gives you latent abilities and allows you to walk in the sun without the loss of your powers,” I explain.

“So that's why you're attacking during the day?” he asks knowingly.

I nod, “Yes, why we are. Vincent has had enough to make him a day walker. Eric is close. You'll need some before we go.”

Vlad asks, “Are you always this bossy?”

l laugh, “Spirited but yes.”

Vlad starts to say, “I…”

Yep, he's losing the battle to the Haze. I have to figure out how to handle this as I don't feel comfortable doing anything until I have at least talked to Elena. I know that she has been away for a while, but if there's any lingering love between her and Vlad, I at least owe her a conversation. Even though he's my fated mate, I won't be a mistress!
