Chapter 127 127

Chapter 127 127
CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY-SEVEN

AURORA'S P.O.V

They both turned away immediately, hiding they're faces but I could see the way their shoulders shook uncontrollably.

I growled low in my throat.
"If you don't do something right now, no more bed action for you."

"Same here." Talia hissed.

They immediately spun back to face us, their faces serious but the occasional twitch of their lips didn't hide they're struggle to not laugh.

They nodded at each other and made their way toward us. Lucian strode over to me, his long legs moving fast, and swept me into his arms. I let out a sigh of relief as he pulled me a tight hug.

"Mom, what have you been doing to my mate?" He asked, amused.

Griffin helped us turn off the mysic, which successfilly made her stop the ridiculous movements. She turned to face us, her face and arms shiny with sweat, a large grin on her face and eyes bright. She looled so happy that I almost felt sorry for mocking the dance and music. Key word, almost.

"Ah, Lucian. You're here." She glanced at Talia and me, her brows going up as she saw the way we were snuggling in  their chests.

"I see you lovebirds. Trying to sneak away huh?"

Talia shudderd.
"More like being saved."

I nodded in agreement.

"Come on. You girls can't tell me that you didn't enjoy that? They were trendy back in the days."

"Nope."

"Nuh uh."

We shook our heads, she sighed, going over to a couch to sit down.

"I'm beat. You girls are just being haters. I didn't get to have this much fun after my..." She stopped, a sad look crossing her features. Then she shook her head, shrugging. "...after I got married. So it felt so nice today to have fun once again with you girls."

"Awwwn! We're sorry we couldn't have fun like you, Eleanor."

She waved her hand, a casual smile on her face.
"Its okay, you both tried. It was funny to see the way you both flailed around like broken machines. Haha!" She burst into laughter.

Lucian and Griifin had to turn their faces away again, just so we didn't see them laughing. But the glare we directed at them made them lose it and just laughed out loud in big whoops.

I gave Talia a pointed look and grumbled.
"See, never feel sorry for her, again."

"You dont need to tell me twice." Sge grumbled back.

We sat back and watched them laugh, it felt nice to just watch them being carefree. A warm feeling of happiness and love spread in my chest, a smile bloomed on my face and was mirrored on Talia's face too. We shared a look and just shook our heads. When they were done laughing, they wiped their eyes and settled back beside us.

"I'm sorry, so sorry. It just...everything was so funny." Lucian sniffed.

"I'm glad you find our misery to your jolly taste." I answered with a bright smile.

Griffin smiled at Lucian, softer now.
"You know, you weren't feeling happy before, but at least you're smiling now."

Lucian's eyes met mine, and he smiled. "Yeah, I guess I was just feeling a bit stressed."

I raised an eyebrow, turning my face to look him in the eyes.
"What happened?"

He sighed.
"I have to go to the All Alphas convention. It's a week-long meeting, and I can't miss it."

I frowned, feeling a pang of disappointment.
"A week? That's a long time. Do you really have to go?"

He nodded, pulling me by the waist, his hand secure.
"I know, but it's mandatory because this is my first meeting as a new alpha. I have no choice."

Talia frowned, biting her lips as she looked up at Griffin.
"And you will be going too?"

He shrugged, a helpless look on his face.
"I have to, I have no choice but to follow my Alpha since I'm the Beta."

"When do you leave?" I asked him.

"In three days time." He answered.

I lowered my head, already feeling sad that he was going to be away from me for such a long time.

"But what about Aurora? Who'll protect her?" Eleanor asked, her eyes wide with worry. "With both of you gone, I don't think the men will be enough to keep her safe from this Auron guy."

His face went serious as he sighed.
"That's exactly what I'm worried about. I don't want to leave her alone, but I don't have a choice."

Talia spoke up.
"Don't worry, we'll take care of her. Eleanor and I will stay with her at all times."

But he shook his head.
"I appreciate it, Talia, but I need someone who's more...capable. Someone who can protect her if anything happens."

I rolled my eyes. "I'm right here, you guys and I can take care of myself, you know."

His eyes met mine, he squeezed my waist.
"I know you can, but I'd feel better if you had someone with you. Someone I trust."

"Then how about I stay here and protect her?" Griffin asked, Talia and I nodded eagerly but he shook his head.

"I'm sorry guys, but since this is his first meeting, he has to come with me. To be introduced to the other alphas." He sighed, more frustrated. "I really don't see the point in all this."

We all stayed quite, in thought when he suddenly clicked his fingers and broke into a smile.

"Lucian, what is it?" I asked curiously.

"I finally got it. I have someone else in mind."

The next day, Lucian told me to come with him, he had something to show me. I followed him, curious.

"What do you want to show me that's so important, you had to drag me away from my studying?"

He turned to face me, his eyes calm.
"Your new, very capable bodyguard or as you like to call it, your babysitter."

I rolled my eyes.
"Still on this." Sighing because I knew I wasn't going to win on this matter, I nodded. "Fine, show me this babysitter or as you call it, bodyguard."

"After you."

He opened the door to his study, I walked into the moderately lit study. The place still looked the same, the table was still there, the seats too, it smelt nostalgic and like Lucian. I blinked noticing something different, did he buy all the books in the book store abs store it on his shelves? Because his shelves were packed, full to the brim with books of all kinds and sizes. I said nothing about it, because something made a sound behind me, by my right, making me turn.

I gasped. The black hair was now longer, brushing his shoulder, his silver eyes still shone fiercely and his lips curled in a slight smile.

"Kieran?"
