Chapter 108 108
CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHT

LUCIAN'S P.O.V.

As for Desmond, he was still gasping for air from the attack Aurora had given him. She faced him, her eyes glowing golden with magic and her snow white hair flowing behind her.

"Hello Desmond, long time no see." She clenched her hands, her voice cool as a cold gaze settled her eyes. "Too bad our reunion will be cut short."

His face twisted with anger and fear. He knew he was beaten, and he was desperate to escape. But I wasn't going to let him get away.

He sneered, but his voice was laced with fear, his eyes flashing with anger. "You think a little fire is going to stop me?" he taunted, his voice dripping with malice.

"It's just the beginning," she said, her voice cold and hard.

She raised her hands again, and a thunderbolt shot out, striking Desmond with incredible force. He stumbled back, his eyes wide with shock.

"Impossible," he whispered, his voice barely audible.

"You underestimated me, Desmond," she clicked her tongue.

Then she twisted her hand slightly, a long, golden chain appeared in her hand as she smiled, a fierce gleam in her eyes.
"You know this right? Good, becuse its your doom."

His eyes widened in shock, and he stumbled back, his eyes fixed on her and the chain in her hand.
"No...it can't be...where did you get it? H...how?

She shrugged innocently.
"Oh, its easy, I just found out that its in my blood so..."

She raised her hands, and a wave of fire and thunder shot out, engulfing Desmond. He let out a scream of pain and rage even as the chains slithered and wrapped themselves around his body. He screamed with raw pain her magic was relentless, pounding him with rocks and vines.

"The chains stops him from using his powers, I suddenly discovered that I could do this. Isn't it amazing." She told me.

"Groundbreaking, but feel like I should do something too." I murmured, she smirked at me, her control on the chains.

"Do it."

"Gladly."

With a roar, I launched myself at him, letting my sharp claws dig into his chest, dragging it down until they left huge gaping holes where blood gushed out from.

"This is for my mother, my father and my people...you monster." I looked into his eyes, he glared at me with intense hatred but I didn't care.

His eyes flashed with fear, and he began to tremble but he refused to say anything, his groans were his only words. She summoned another bolt of lightning, which struck Desmond and sent him crashing flat to the ground.

As he lay there, battered, chained and bruised, I saw the fear in his eyes. So he could actually feel fear. But he still did all those horrible things without remorse and still expected to not suffer for it? I wasn't going to let him die that easily. I approached him, my eyes locked on his.

"Now," I said, my voice hard. "You're going to pay for all the evil things you've done."

His eyes flashed with defiance, but I could see the fear lurking beneath the surface. And as I stood over him, my jaws snapping mere inches from his face, I could see the realization in his eyes. It was over. But just as I was about to deliver the final blow, Aurora's voice stopped me.

"Wait, Lucian," she said, her voice soft. "Let me do it."

I turned to her, my eyes questioning with concern. But she just nodded, her eyes locked on Desmond.

"This is for my people," she said, her voice cold and hard. "For the pain and suffering you've caused them. And me."

And with that, she raised her hands, and a blast of golden fire shot out, engulfing Desmond. He let out a scream of pain and rage, but it was too late. No matter how much he turned and weighed on the ground, he still burned.

"I...I....I will haunt...your dreams....I will...not...let....you...go....." He wailed weakly.

The smell of charred flesh filled the air, he died before his body was fully burned.

It was over. He was dead. His Nen were all dead.

I saw the bodies of our pack members, both Kieran's too, the fallen and the injured. I saw the tears and the pain on the remaining men's faces. But I also saw the determination and the strength, the courage and the resilience. We had won, but we had also lost. We had lost our innocence, our sense of security. But we had gained something greater. We had gained our freedom, our pack, and our future.

"It's over," I whispered, my voice barely audible.

"Not yet." Aurora replied softly.

I looked at her, she knelt on the ground and placed her palms flat against the ground, closing her eyes.

"Breathe life into them. One last time." She whispered like a lovers caress.

A soft wind began to blow, I closed my eyes, letting the sudden feeling of peace wash over me, my strength replenishing immediately.

Loud cheers made me snap my eyes open. All around me, the dead bodies of our and Kieran's men were no more, instead, they were now walking, alive, jumping with happiness."

"Aurora...you did this...again...wonderful." I gushed in wonder.

She let out a heavy sigh, I quickly helped her up.

"Yeah, last time I'm doing that again. I need some sleep." Then she faced me and dragged my face to hers. "Right after we have that discussion."

I gulped, and uneasy smile on my face.
"Can we do that when we get home?"

"Hey, lovebirds! Stop gazing into your eyes and come celebrate with us."

Mirabel yelled, running to us, she grabbed each of our hands and dragged us to the middle of the field where everyone was cheering and hugging each other. I couldn't stop the grin spreading on my face as I watched them.

"Hey."

I felt someone behind me, I turned and it was Kieran, he looked worse for the wear but at least, he wasn't injured.

"Thank you. For standing with us and fighting us. I'm really grateful."

I gave him a curt boe, he blinked for a while then bowed back to me. When he raised his head, a slight smile was on his lips.

"I still haven't given up on Aurora..."

I frowned but he continued.

"Just let me ask her first. At least....that should be the favor you owe me. What do you say?"
