Chapter 107 107
CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND SEVEN
LUCIAN'S P.O.V
With a roar, mine and Kieran's men charged forward, Griffin and I leading the way. Kieran joined us, and the sound of fighting and snarling filled the air. Desmond's men were taken aback for a few seconds, standing there looking at Desmond.
"What are you fools waiting for? Kill them all and bring their blood to me!" He roared back at them.
They quickly shook themselves, roared in chorus and rallied towards us. Everyone shifted into their wolves except for Kieran and I. We were alphas so we could pretty much fight without completely shifting, the only places we shifted was our claws and our fangs.
I glanced at Kieran as I ran.
"Focus on the others, Desmond is mine."
He nodded, making a dash to the fighting fray.
"If you say so."
I walked slowly towards him, my fangs out, teeth barred and chest pounding with blood. Behind us, the battle raged on, the sound of fighting and snarling filling the air. He and I faced off, our eyes locked in a fierce stare.
"You really think you can get rid of me? You little pup."
I smirked.
"I will, or I can die trying. Either way, you're going down."
He smiled, his teeth glowing as he opened his hands wide in an inviting gesture, his wild hair blowing in the wind.
"Alright then. Give me your best shot. I will take this opportunity to revenge for my dead son."
With a roar, I launched myself at Desmond, my claws brushing mere inches from his face. He dodged to the side, letting out black, smoky tentacles from his hand. Shooting out to wrap around my ankles, I felt their slimy yet strong grasp but before they could grab me tightly, I leapt into the air. Deftly avoiding the tentacles as they slammed into the ground, sending dirt and debris flying.
He laughed gleefully, his eyes glining with excitement. Then he summoned a wave of black smoke, which crashed over me like a tidal wave. I coughed, my eyes stinging as I stumbled back. The smoke cleared, and I saw him standing before me, a cruel smile on his face.
"Too weak."
He raised his hands, and the air around him began to distort and ripple. The ground beneath my feet started to shake, and I stumbled back, my claws scrambling for traction.
He laughed, his eyes flashing with power. "You can't even begin to comprehend the power I'm wielding. I sacrificed a lot to get this powerful, I'm not going to waste it."
He summoned a massive black smoky tentacle, which shot out and wrapped around my waist. I snarled, my claws digging into the ground as the tentacle dragged me closer to Desmond.
"Let...go of me." I growled, struggling to free myself from the tight grasp. When I saw it wasn't working, I closed my eyes and tried to shift. "Huh...what's happening? Why can't I shift?"
"My tentacles can easily surpress anyone, even you. So you can't shift until I say so."
The tentacles began to squeeze, tightening around my waist like a vice. I gasped, my ribs creaking under the pressure. I struggled and snarled, but his grip was like iron. My breath began to fail me, everything was looking blurry and I began to lose consciousness.
A faraway voice called me, bringing me out of it.
"Lucian! Snap out of it! Wake up! You can't die here!"
"You can't give up now, Lucian."
Kieran and Griffin yelled as they struggled to reach me but I saw that Desmond had also wrapped black tentacles around them too.
"Oh, your little friends are here to cheer you up. Isn't that nice."
"Let...them...go..." I mustered the strength to growl, struggling helplessly against the tentacles while he laughed like a mad man.
Just as I thought all was lost, a burst of light and energy shot through the air, striking Desmond's tentacle and shattering it, he flew off a good distance with a yell. We fell to the ground clutching our chest, I took huge gasping breaths, letting the air rush into my lungs.
"What....what was that? How did that happen!!!" He roared, clutching his stomach and wincing.
"Luciannnnnnn!!!!"
We all turned at the same time to look towards the sound of the roaring voice.
"Aurora?" I gasped, getting to my feet in seconds.
She waved cheerfully at me, running fast. Behind her, I noticed the huge cloud of dust behind her.
"What's behind her?" Griffin asked, puzzled.
She answered our question soon enough.
"I brought some friends."
I grinned, feeling a surge of excitement and relief, she was here. With Aurora on our side, we were unstoppable. The dust cleared and my eyes went wide with joy, a laugh bursting out from me."
"Jake! Eli! Mirabel! Shawn! You're all here!"
They let out a battle cry, their eyes flashing with determination as they rushed towards me and tackled me in a brief hug.
"We're here to help."
"You could really use our help right now."
"We did offer to help anyway."
"Let's get to work."
I stared at each of them, my eyes going misty but my chest feeling tight.
"Thanks, you guys. Thank you so much."
"Anytime." Jake slapped my back.
Kieran and Griffin approached us warily, their gazes going to them one by one.
"Care to introduce us."
Aurora smiled.
"Later, for now, just know that they are our good friends and are here to help."
"Alright..." Griffin nodded but then took a second glance at Mirabel who waved at him, and then he looked at her brothers, a look of recognition dawning in his eyes "Ah...I know now. Good to see you guys. Shall we?"
Aurora and I shared a look together before looking back at him.
"Let's fight."
"Leave Desmond for Aurora and I, he's our business to finish. You guys take the others."
They all nodded and shifted into their wolves, Kieran and Griffin following suit as they rushed back with more vigor to finish Desmond's men. The tide of the battle had turned, Desmond's men faltered as they faced our new arrivals.
I looked softly at her, taking her hands in mine.
"I'm glad you're here. It means so much to me."
She smiled and looked away.
"I'm happy to see you too but we are going to have a serious conversation later. Got that?"
Oh dear, I knew it. She was mad. I sighed in defeat.
"Of course."
"Good. Now let's get this over with."
