Chapter 37 Royal Affairs
I stood far away watching that flirty woman with Larkin’s arms wrapped around her waist, laughing with the other nobles of the first prince. All I can say about this woman is that she loves attention.
It irritates me to look at her because no matter what I do or look for, I can’t find anything wrong with her very beautiful face. She’s so beautiful. Her long hair is jet black, she has lovely eyes, nice lips, and a gorgeous smile. Even the way she laughs is so elegant that it draws more attention from the men around her. I wouldn’t be surprised why she caught the attention of the two Lancasters.
I can’t help but be jealous of her. She was born beautiful, while I spent my whole life trying to make myself pretty. If my grandma didn’t teach me about beauty, what would have happened to me?
Now I can say vampire women are much more beautiful, you can’t find a single flaw in them.
I unconsciously touched my long brown, wavy hair. It wouldn’t be this beautiful if I hadn’t become a vampire.
I quickly shook my head when my eyes landed on the woman’s red lips again. How many times has my prince kissed them? Fuck.
I’m not leaving my spot because I want to keep watching how much more beautiful she is than me, it’s because of the two vampires beside me who seem to be sensing what I’ll do next.
Surely they don’t recognize me? And how would they even know me?
They’re still talking beside me, as if intentionally letting me hear what they’re discussing. It turns out these two have always been together from the start.
“What do you think of her?” Travis asked Randall.
They were also staring at the woman I’ve been annoyed at and admiring.
“She’s hot, though Astrid and Enid are still prettier,” Randall answered Travis uncertainly.
“Why are we watching her?” Travis asked his brother again.
“I don’t know,” Randall shrugged in reply.
They were quiet for a moment, so I started stepping back. Just as I was about to take another step, I heard something from them that caught my interest.
“You know what? The chosen woman for Aetherio didn’t show up.”
I turned to look at what Travis said. Is this really such big news? Why didn’t Aetherio just hide what happened and let Gavin deal with it privately?
“Which one? Kaizer’s best friend?” Randall asked with a grin.
Best friend huh?
“Say that again in front of him Randall, you’ll freeze up again,” Travis said, shaking his head.
“But that was cruel. Blue fire doesn’t make mistakes. What happened? That must have hurt his teeth,” Randall said laughing.
“The girl broke the glass on purpose Randall. Do you think that could happen to any of us? Try to think, one of us brothers will get the mark when the time comes.”
So at this time, they still don’t know which of them will get the mark.
“We don’t have a choice Travis. We’re the only six nobles in Wisteria,” Randall replied to him.
“I’ve wished so many times that the mark wouldn’t appear on me. I don’t want to hope for a woman from another world. I don’t want to be the chosen man thirsty for the blood of a woman who doesn’t know our race’s rules.”
At times like this, was this also what Kaizer thought before the mark appeared on him?
I saw Randall smirk slightly at what his brother said.
“Me? I’ll just go with it. If I’m the one who gets the mark, I’ll accept it. I’ll wait for her and treat her like my princess. As long as she doesn’t run away, because my teeth will really hurt,” Randall joked.
“Are you serious Randall? You can’t stick to one woman. Let’s not kid ourselves,” I heard Randall laugh at what Travis said.
“Don’t worry Travis. It’s definitely Larkin who’ll get the mark among us brothers. He’s the first prince, the future king. It’s only right that the chosen woman from another world goes to him. This won’t be our problem anymore.”
Why did the mark go to Kaizer when all of Wisteria thought Larkin would be mine?
“What if it’s not Larkin?” Travis asked absentmindedly.
Just like when I first met Travis, he thinks too deeply, not like Kaizer and Randall who always use force.
“It can’t be Kaizer. He can’t stick to one woman. Even Chase doesn’t deserve it. So it could be you Travis, the best candidate.”
I saw Travis shake his head several times.
“I’d prefer a born vampire girl Randall.”
Randall just shrugged.
“That woman and Larkin can’t be together. Only the chosen woman deserves him. Kaizer has to be the one with that woman.”
My eyes widened at what Travis said. No way!
“But that’s so gross. If I knew you already kissed that woman Travis, I’d never kiss her no matter how beautiful she is. How can Kaizer stand that woman?”
So these two know what’s going on. And from what I understand, Larkin and the woman are the ones who should be together legally. The ice prince would be breaking them up. But the woman said she loves Kaizer, is it because Larkin has a higher position in the empire that she chose to make their relationship public?
“I don’t understand. Everything’s getting too complicated.”
I quickly covered my mouth when I suddenly spoke. I almost closed my eyes waiting for the two princes to speak.
“Where is Kaizer anyway?” Randall asked his brother, making me frown.
Didn’t they hear me?
“He was with mother queen earlier.”
Can’t they see me? I waved my hand in front of their faces several times but they can’t see me. How did this happen? Only the queen and Kaizer could see me earlier, right?
“Saera! Let’s go. No one can see you anymore, my power for this ability isn’t fully trained yet. We’ll both fade away if we don’t get back soon.”
I just turned to look at the princess I’ve been looking for. Where did she come from? Doesn’t she know what I’ve seen during this time? But instead of scolding her, I started walking toward her. I wanted to keep listening to the brothers’ conversation but it looks like we have to stop here.
We reached the front of the huge Lancaster palace gate where no vampire usually passes through. Is this just a coincidence?
A strange light appeared again, it will be our passageway.
The princess walked in first and I quickly followed. Once we were outside, we immediately met the vampire triplets all wrapped in thick clothing.
“Tatiana, the snow is getting heavier. It looks like Wisteria’s second prince is getting closer.”
