Chapter 59

-Jianna-

I woke up in a room I wasn't familiar with. I sat up and looked around. I tried to get off the bed I seemed to be sitting on, but I found that I couldn't. My arms and legs were bound to the very solid bedpost. I tried to remember how I got here, but my memory could have been better. My head was throbbing with a dull pain, and I could barely think straight.

As I looked around the room, I noticed it was dimly lit, with thick curtains covering the windows. The room was tastefully decorated with antique furniture and heavy drapes. It was the kind of room in a high-end hotel or a wealthy person's mansion. There was something familiar to it, but I couldn't recall what it was. It felt like there was a secret that I had forgotten deep in the back of my mind.

"Where the fuck am I?" I thought. I tried to look for something I could use to cut myself loose, but there was nothing around me. My heart started racing as I realized I was in trouble. I needed to think of a way out of this and fast.

Suddenly, I heard footsteps outside the door. My heart started racing as I wondered who was coming to see me. Was it my kidnapper? Was it someone who could help me escape? The door opened, and a tall man with piercing blue eyes and a chiseled jawline walked in. He wore a black suit that looked tailored for him, and he had an air of confidence and authority that made my heartbeat.

"I see you're finally awake," he said in a deep, gravelly voice.

"What's going on? Who are you? Where am I? Why am I tied up?" I asked, my heart racing with fear.

"That's a lot of questions, my dear," he said with a smirk. "You're here because I want you here. And you're tied up because I don't want you to leave."

"Let me the fuck go! I don't know what you want. I don't have anything." I shrieked at him.

He looked at me, put up his pointer finger, and shook it. "Tut tut my love," he said condescendingly. "Now," he continued, "I know your memories are starting to come back."

I didn't know how to respond. It took me a couple of minutes before I said anything. "Who are you?" I whispered, trying to swallow the lump that had seemed to form in my throat.

"You'll find out soon enough," he said stoically.

He snapped his fingers, the door opened again, and two men entered. They were large, muscular men with stern expressions on their faces. They walked over to the bed and stood on either side of me, their presence intimidating. My heart raced faster as I realized I was entirely at their mercy.

The man with piercing blue eyes turned to me and spoke. "Now, my love, I need you to tell me something. Do you know who I am?"

"No, I don't. Now, please let me go." I pleaded. "I don't know anything."

The man shook his head. "That won't do."

"Please. Please. Just let me go." I begged.

He leaned close to my face, his breath hot on my skin. "I can't do that, my dear. You see, I need you to remember." His hand trailed down my arm, causing me to shiver in fear.

"You see, you know something very important people needed. And until you remember what that is, I cannot let you go," he explained.

"I don't understand," I whispered, tears starting to prick at the corners of my eyes. "I just told you, I don't know anything."

"Not for long." he turned for a brief moment and then turned back to show me a syringe with an opaque white liquid in it. He snapped his fingers, and the two men that came in earlier went to my bedside again and untied me but still held me down. The man stepped forward and took the safety cap from the syringe's needle.

"This will only sting a little bit," he said as he inserted the needle in my arm and pressed on the plunger.

I waited for whatever the effect of the mystery liquid would have on me, and I didn't have to wait very long. I started feeling very drowsy. My eyes began to close, and my body got heavy.

I woke up what I would assume a couple of hours later, sitting on a dentist's chair, but I found myself bound to the chair and a gag in my mouth. I tried to scream, but the gag made them sound like futile moans. A bright light shone directly on my face, making it difficult to see anything around me. Suddenly, I heard footsteps approaching me, and the man with piercing blue eyes appeared in my sight.

"Welcome back, *amore*," he says, his voice echoing in the sterile room. "I hope you had a nice nap."

I glare at him, but my anger is muted by the fear that is coursing through my veins. I don't know what he wants from me, but I know it can't be good.

"Now, let's try this again. Do you remember anything yet?" he asked, his voice dripping with impatience.

I shook my head and tried to tell him that he could go fuck himself. But the gag in my mouth prevented me from saying anything.

"That's too bad." he turned around and looked at a panel I didn't initially see.

He pressed a button, and I heard something clatter behind me. Then something hummed, and a hoop made of wires and metal started moving from behind me, and like some type of bubble wand, it enclosed my head and started to spin. At first, it just started to have a soft hum, and then it became louder and louder until it was almost deafening. Then the electric current came.

The louder I screamed, the more intense it got. And just as soon as it came, the shocks stopped. My head was pounding, and my breathing ragged. The tears just kept on flowing. I begged him to stop, but the gag would not let me speak properly.

I looked at the man, and he pressed the button again, and it started all over again. After a couple of times of this torture, my head slumped to the side.

Finally, the spinning stopped, and the hoop returned to the machine. I gasped for air, my chest heaving with exertion. I looked at the man with piercing blue eyes and saw something in his expression that made my blood run cold. It was a look of triumph as if he had finally gotten what he wanted from me.

He grabbed my hair, lifted my head up with one hand, and took the gag off with the other. As soon as the gag was off, I took a deep breath and started coughing like I was a fish out of water.

"What did you do to me?" I asked, my voice hoarse from the gag.

He smiled a wicked grin that made my stomach turn. "Just a little memory extraction, *amore*."

My mind was a jumbled mess. I can't tell what's real or what's not. I tried to beg again.

"Please. Please. No more. No more Dr. Mondrich." I pleaded.

He looked at me and smiled.

"Finally."
